Sorry I lived in the US and Australia for several years. Lets take the US, and a Corolla/Altis for example
Salaries: 20-30% higher in the US on a dollar to RM basis
Purchase Price: $22k vs RM110k
Service Costs: circa $200 vs RM180
Insurance Costs: $1,500 vs RM2.5k
Parking: highly dependent on where you stay; I live in a tier 2 city hence parking costs were similar to let's say subang jaya. If you were to live in NY etc, parking could be $800 per month in ur office vs RM200 in msia; although parking is cheap in subway stations and I recalled paying less than $5 daily to park in the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) for the 1 odd month I was living in NY . Since parking was hardly a cost for me, let's keep it at no winner lah.
Fixing your Car: highly variable but Malaysia wins
Petrol: $0.67 vs RM1.95
Do provide your arguments to the above.
Ahh yes my example is above. Oh yeah, many of the overseas educated ppl i know (we are talking several hundred ppl) take the train to work. Of cos, we have good cars to use to the station/night/weekends
I lived in 2 developed countries and most my family do. For instance my cousin in the US drives a new s class/7 series that only costs $100k among many other cars. Total expenses were surely much much less than buying an equivalent s class/7 series in Msia (purchase price, service, fixing, insurance, accident etc).
