Not sure what other ppl will think but for me is ok. I'll upload a pic of my setup if i got time to clean my room a bit.. lol... Well floorstand are meant to sit far to get the sound stage. Basically im not tapping the full potential of my bookshelf as well. But i have already purchased a speaker stand for my bookshelf but currently using it at my Plasma with my tannoy but the stand is ultimately for my Dynaudio when i have space for it. Basically, i planned ahead and bought things which ultimately i will setup properly in a hifi setup.

My speaker is Dynaudio DM2/8 (main), Dynaudio Audience 122 (standby), Tannoy (forgot the model and lazy to check..lol)

I went to king audio the other day, the guys suggest me RM4k KEF speaker. shocking.gif. And seems like lack of choice. And the guy did the explain and the elder one which I guess the shop owner seems like not in explanation mood. Maybe need to speak mandarin?

I believe the 4k plus KEF would be the reknown LS50:)

Have you heard the speaker? What can you describe off? Not sure if it's the model you mention because when come to Sabah Sarawak, RM 3500 can be up to RM 4000 and above due to shipping.

QUOTE(Shirogawa @ Sep 12 2013, 04:59 PM)
i see...this setup is for laptop...if i take one of those...i need to pair it with usb sound card/DAC?
*
If you have extra cash to burn, try Aune T1 for Rm460. It's tube DAC with amp. The amp can be used as pre-amp or in case you jump ship to headphone, you already have an amp. Or get Aune X1 for RM 560 more or less, similar function but not using tube like T1. And share the experience with us. thumbup.gif

Or else DAC only, try from entry level such as T-Muso, UD100 and UD110, a newer version of UD100. I think UD110 will be release within this year. Based on my experience, there's no way onboard soundcard can beat T-Muso and UD100. I wish I don't have picky ear. Since my ear get "infected", I need to spend more for treatment. doh.gif

Hi guys... Does Swan X4 have flat sound? But according to the design, should have more bass than MK3. Still deciding buy speaker or jump ship to head-fi... Sigh...

Guys, can recommend me portable speaker? The cheaper the better. Prefer < RM 200 but I doubt portable speaker will be good. Thinking of connect to FiiO X3 or Note 2. Max budget is RM 300. I don't expect a good bass from portable speaker TBH.

Corsair SP 2500 to Soundstick 3 is a big leap or not? After some time with her, I find that SP 2500 bass is really strong but have less impact. I prefer balance of mid low and end low, a nice impact with some heart shaking is really nice. biggrin.gif

Any thoughts for Edifier C3 compared with Edifier S530D? Thinking of grabbing DA5000 Pro, but I afraid will not perform really good in music department.

How good is DA5100? But too pricey. RM 900. doh.gif BTW from your review, seems like S530D bass can't keep up with the beat. Does this happen with C3 too? Thinking of getting S530D but the bass lag been pulling me back.

From SP 2500, jump to Edifier C3 a smart move or not? SP2500 consume too much space, and the bass not my liking, too boomy. Is there any way to mess with EQ so I can add more impact to the bass. Well, it's good for game and movie but music, I prefer accurate C3 bass. Gosh, my eardrum upgrading after spending time with head-fi. sweat.gif Fussy, even with bass.

Nothing much to discuss at Sarawak. Haha... Shipping etc, so yeah I understand for the expensive price. BTW, RM 899 is from google search, retail price. sweat.gif

QUOTE(power911 @ Mar 4 2014, 12:12 AM)
personally haven't tested DA5100 yet.

S530D is indeed slow to my preference but I'd still think you should try it out first (probably I'm too fussy lol)

SP2500 to C3 sounds like a downgrade to me.
I couldn't compare because I forgot how SP2500 sounds but if impact is what you need... maybe a 2.0 setup rather than a 2.1? like the Edifier R2600?
*
SP2500 bass are rumbling, not punching... Mids and high are okay. Nothing to expect from a gaming speaker. They're loud, but can be fatiguing. How about those JBL speaker. You think they got enough bass? R2600 too large for my desk even though I like 2.0 idea.

didn't like the JBL too much as the bass tends to try too hard. (c'mon... 3 incher forcing itself to be an 8 incher)

you could always go for some HiVi D1010-iv and pair it with your corsair woofer lol (or just ignore the corsair set and go for D1080-iv)
Though I dunno how small the HiVi is but yea... can try

if not the R1900Tiii kinda okay though

Edit: didn't see that you're from sarawak, but I hope you could try out though sad.gif

QUOTE(erszebeth @ Mar 5 2014, 12:59 AM)
I see, so based on your recommendation, HK SS III's SQ is better than corsair sp2500?
*
I don't know how HK SS iii sound like but I expect them to be better than SP2500 since it's music oriented speaker.. I was offered pretty cheap last time but due to "gamers" tag and mind set, and better control so I get SP2500.

Actually, the control pod makes thing a lot easier for me. Unless you place SS iii on desk or you barely adjust the bass. For SP2500, the control pod is just on the table and this is pretty easy for me. Another thing I worry about SS iii is the transparent design. I afraid that they will turn yellowish and I'm more confident with woods than glued acrylic. But so far I never bump across SS iii owner complaint this so I admit I was stupid that time. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(power911 @ Mar 5 2014, 12:00 AM)
I'd vote Soundsticks for sound quality or S530D for large, full sound with power
HiVi D1010-iv is around Edifier C3 price
*
How is Hivi D1010-iv performance, compared to R2600?

QUOTE(Edifier @ Mar 4 2014, 05:30 PM)
How about Edifier e25, the winner of IF design award? A 2.2 speaker and courier to Sarawak will cost around RM50, if I m not mistaken.
*
Wow, nice design... But they are pretty small and afraid not rocking enough as C3... C3 locally sold at RM459. And I think postage for 2.1 speaker will cost more than RM50. sweat.gif Not sure because I never try yet. biggrin.gif

not too sure bout others but R2600 feels cold while D1010-iv tends to be warm (or muddy in my tainted ears)

Which one of these three will you pick? E25, R2600, or D1010-iv? Warm sound are okay but not muddy. doh.gif I'm more of clarity guy with an accurate bass.

Few things to add. From my memory comparison, SS iii still boomy like SP2500 except they have better treble. Listened to SS iii from ipod and Mac at Apple store, and to my ear they just a little better than SP2500. 4 satellite at each side, of course they will be better than SP2500. But who knows their true performance when played from a better source. Plus, I can't test full potential of the speaker at Apple store. sweat.gif

But SP2500 sensitive to your source too. With T-Muso, more bass quantity but less impact, but no harsh. With UD100, the obvious change is in the clarity. Beautiful treble but can be mood killer in rock, or metal song. But the bass less boomy, and more impact added. IMO SP2500 more suitable for closed range, for computer desk purpose. Their bass sound weird when I used them as a TV speaker as I sit 2-3 ft away. Maybe due to the sub design it self.

If you ask me which one, I prefer SS iii than SP2500. I spend long time with my SP2500 and I think I want to change my speaker. The sound is not my type. That's why I love my Senn HD600. Sound are clean, clear, and the bass not boomy but have a good impact to music, and prove adequate bass on demand. Treble freak. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(erszebeth @ Mar 5 2014, 10:56 AM)
hey boss, just realized that you're nembiak kuching haha. I am keen on getting the sp2500 but the thing is i cant find it anywhere in kuching. can only find those logitech speakers everywhere. even high end edifier is hard to find. can get here in lowyat, but then the postage fee already 100++. T___T so my best option to save cost is only the soundsticks. I can get those HK SS iii at any switch, so that's why I'm planning to just grab the soundstick.

may i know where you get your sp2500? thanks in advance. smile.gif
*
Hey Pok, I just realize you from Meow meow too. laugh.gif I bought from KL, and I ask my cousin to bring from KL. thumbup.gif Logitech speaker really not my type. I prefer Edifier anytime. Logitech bass, sweat.gif . Another good thing about SP2500 is they really functioning as a multimedia speaker. I can change the mod anytime. I know it's just built in EQ but it's really a bonus. If I play classical or instrumental, I just change the mod to classical. If I listened to EDM, hip hop or R&B, I just use dynamic pop mode for more bass impact. And change to pop EQ. I want to play FPS, change to FPS. If I want to emulate large hall sound, just change in the control pod. thumbup.gif

That E25 review not bad too. Nice design along with powerful bass, based on review. Yeah, harsh treble can kill the mood. Just like my SP2500 with UD100. Anyway, the muddy sound, is it really bad?

Hi everyone, need opinion on buying NAD d3020 pair with PSB alpha LR1 or Audioengine A5+ pair with D1. Thanks.

Not sure of A5 and D1. But NAD D3020 is one of NAD 3020 legendary amp line up. Come with a good DAC and amp, said by reviewer and seller. The speaker however so small. You can google the measurement and try imagine. I plan to get D3020 and get PSB Alpha B1 or Dali Zensor 1 speaker but Agong say no to me so I hunt cheap used hifi set. Now this is hifi zone, no more multimedia speaker.

Ada orang sudah ngetest D 1080 IV kah? Now I'm stuck with Edifier E25 and D 1080. Edifier R1900 TIII, R2600, size too large for my desk. doh.gif So hard...

if not mistaken d1080 is similar size to r1900t3. Ur table cannot fit?

Yes, more or less dimensions. I miss look the size spec. Below is my old rig, same old desk until now:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Now I have bigger monitor, Dell U2312HM. Less space for my SP500 satellite. doh.gif

SP2500 satellite:
108 x 120 x 159mm

Edifier R1600Tiii
154 x 254 x 214mm
RM ???

DV 1080 IV:
177×252×242mm
RM 529

Edifier R1900 Tiii
172 × 296 × 215mm
RM 365

Edifier R2700
218 x 393 x 298mm
RM 567

Edifier R2800
258 x 463 x 320mm
RM 747

Size comparison with my Corsair satellite, got 6.9cm smaller than DV 1080 V or R1900 Tiii. And 11cm smaller than R2600. doh.gif Only if those 150cm or 170cm speaker can perform as good as Edifer R2800. sweat.gif

For now, more towards R1900 Tiii. Cheaper than Swan but better sounding, as claim by listener. Or perhaps get R2700, 4cm smaller than R2800. Complicated and too many to process. doh.gif Or wait for R1600T iii, which I hope better than R1900T iii.

QUOTE(Edifier @ Mar 10 2014, 06:51 PM)
Bro,

How about the new comer R1600TIII.

The Studio 1600TIII is a powerful studio speaker set with an edgy design. The Studio 1600TIII produces 60W RMS from the 4 inch bass driver and 19mm tweeter drivers in each speaker. A front facing bass reflex port emphasizes lower frequencies, allowing for richer bass performance. The Studio 1600TIII incorporates DSP and DRC to prevent distortion levels even at the highest volumes, producing crisp, clean audio. Audio devices can be connected using the dual RCA inputs and audio volume, bass and treble can be adjusted using the adjustment dials located on the side of the speaker. A wireless remote accompanies the R1600TIII for volume and power.
*
How much is the estimated local price and from which seller I can get from? I know this is a new speaker, so it's a bit hard to get info.

where 5" can go until 60hz, considering cheap 2.1 set use a 5" subwoofer. now u got left + right 2 unit cool.gif
