Cost averaging in since the yields are gaining. Many are potentially yielding in excess of 8%. Some 9%

Hi prophet,.. well, to me, I will cost-averaging in if I am not sure if the price will drop further. OTOH, if I am more than 57% confident that the price will drop further, then I hold my bullets. When the stats above drops below,... say 45%, then can shoot one bullet at a time, but don't spray the gun like some NS men do,.... biggrin.gif

enjoy! tongue.gif

Hi AV,...hmm, sad.gif I'm still hunting for the rate when the Budget was first announced a few weeks ago. Don't know if such a catalyst will re-appear.

I'll be contented with just a small window for me to go in. Do you guys think that chance will come again ?

rm-usd, think very low chance it will improve from 4.35.

good chance it will go >4.40 anytime - crude approaching last low, petronas almost zero profit, mgs yields rising, expect larger actual 2015 budget deficit.

so, no window. tongue.gif

biggrin.gif Wil said the RM will strengthen when the school holidays start ! Hey,.. I'm willing to go with anybody who can give me the smallest reason for the RM to re-strengthen,... becos I'm,... of the opinion, that,....you have a very fair chance to be right - no window ! sad.gif

Yeah,... I am of the opinion that as we approach mid-December, the adrenalin built-up by then would be so strong that the institutional investors would be forced to sell-out due to their rules-of-engagement.

I am of the opinion that it is not,... yet,... We needed a few more strong consensus percentages from analysts in early-December that the liftoff will happen in mid-December. Then only, will the hike will be fully priced-in....

who got VIVA IND

Meanwhile the preferential offering comprises of an issuance of 101,071,000 new stapled securities at an issue price of SGD0.715 per new unit and will raise gross proceeds of approximately SGD72.3 million. The offering will be made on the basis of one new stapled security for every seven existing units in the trust as at 5.00 p.m. on 26 November 2015.
*
Well,...at least Viva has retail shareholders in mind to offer this preferential offering, unlike Cache which did a placement exercise recently, and diluted our holdings..

But be careful of industrial REITs, if they are heavy on warehouse spaces, there could be some headwinds ahead due to incoming supply. If they are more into business parks, then it would be worth considering.

How about a US counter with 15% withholding tax ? Is this acceptable, especially if it pays monthly ?

The brokerage fee is high for US stocks? Anyone familiar with US stocks?

Can share also abt the US reits for our additional knowlegde.
*
You must select a brokerage which has discounted brokerage fees. Anyway, if you are earning consistent dividends, you'd be able to offset the brokerage fees later-on. So,... no issue on that end.

Hi prince,... it's going to be a long story, don't know if this thread is the right vehicle for this discussion. Yu too must find a way to open an account in the US for you to invest for dvidend profitably.

Otherwise, the charges, custodian fees, fees against dividends received and wiotholding taxes will just make your investments not worth it.

Long story,......

will u buy this too? or u stick to your mini etf?

coz I see this new etf heavy in Australia reits which I could hardly buy via Sg broker.

any advise on this ?
*
Hi prince, I checked out the yields for the Aussie REITs. They're not high (around 5% only on average), and many of the REITs are in the real estate business, which means they will not have the motivation to keep their dps stable. The payouts of real estate companies are strongly correlated to business performance.

I have this,... average price 80 US Cents. Use this as a proxy to earn the USD, and ride on the strengthening of the USD amid the looming rate hike.

Bro,.. I don't really know when would be a good timing,.. can't tell for sure, but at the current price of Manulife US REIT, the yield is close to 7%, as from prospectus earlier. There are talks of the US Elections, etc,.. but to me, I'll go in now..

Never too late to invest into the USD.

The tt fee is not much, but rate is the killer.

QUOTE(elea88 @ Nov 3 2016, 10:33 AM)
every bank charges differs.

The charges from M'sia bank is like RM10 to RM20.00

HOWEVER for some banks..  at SG side there will be another charge.
*
OKay,... here's the full answer to all the above questions :-

1) If you use Maybank2U to do yr TT, the charge is ONLY RM10, but the limitation is you can only TT a maximum of RM10000 per day, PER ACCOUNT ! The rate you will have to use os the board rate on the Forex Rates webpage of Maybank2U.

2) If you wish to have a better rate, you need to use the TT Form, approach the branch, and the branch may help you to call Maybank Treasury to get a better rate. The amount TT'ed must be, normally, RM60000 and above. The charge here will be RM25.00 per TT.

3) If you TT to Maybank Singapore or to DBS, there is no charge at the receiving bank.

TT is NOT THE ONLY method to transfer funds out of the country. There are other creative ways, in order to get better rates, and to get lower charges.
