Had some spare time today so I did a couple of test fits for things I haven't.
1. Aquaero 5 waterblock; issues with compression fitting rings just because of the two screws in the middle of the block. ![]() Easily solved with extenders I suppose. Gotta buy some short extenders. 2. Aquacomputer D5; issues with fitting together with the bitspower mod kit I have. Have to use the pump cover without the rear plate. Have to make it look really presentable now, can't hide the pump back and cable headers. Also decided to stop being stupid, going to buy a can of paint stripper this weekend and just let my radiators have it. Sand papering the paint of is getting me nowhere and if I persist, I could probably say bye bye to having any fingerprints. |

Went out and traded off my pimped out pump for a power supply today.
Got hold of this, pretty much brand new with warranty and stuff in tact. ![]() A Seasonic, X760. I think this just speaks for itself. So no more Corsair TX650M! Or so I thought. Turns out because of the nature of the cable layout, the TX650M has pretty much the best layout for my case. However, because I don't want to void it's warranty so soon and that I want/need my cables to be somewhat short and sleeved, I kinda have to change it to a modular. The issue? Well, with the radiator installed, I can only plug up my 2x 6-pin PCIE, 24-pin Mobo, and 8-pin mobo. NOTHING ELSE. Even plugging the 2x 6-pin PCIE slightly blocks the port for my radiator. No SATA power, no 4-pin molex power. wtf. That pretty much means my rig would be stuck in post then it'll just die from heat. Lucky for me, the PSU is secured to my case using a bracket, so I'm going to make it fit. ![]() If you're wondering, the PSU fits on the other side of the bracket. The side that's on the box. I just need to make my own lower profile bracket. That's until some other issue turns up. We'll see. I think when I'm finally done with this, I'll write up on the amount of items that I've changed out throughout the journey. Should be mind blowing. No updates yet coz I got sick
BUT! I managed to secure some funds so I bought the remainder of the stuff I need for my build. Should get to me by the end of the coming week. Got some new tools, should get to me by mid coming week. Just need to finish my case! Why is it so hard to do these things. Oh, got my hands on some paint stripper. Shall have a go at my radiators when I open the can of rambutan or peaches in my fridge. I need a metal can to hold the stripper while I work. LOL. ALSO! Will be tossing out the black oxide screws (most of them) and swapping them with stainless steel nuts & bolts. Need to buy metal polish next time I go to the hardware store so I can make em SHINE. why don't you use sleeved extensions? the un-sleeved cable will be hidden behind the motherboard tray, only the sleeved extensions will be visible from the side

Tools arrived today. Main item was the countersink I ordered. Need to make some adjustments to the stock countersink holes.
Silly thing is the company that sent me the stuff left out one item and sent it out today so I have to wait for another part before I can actually continue cutting up my case. Watercooling parts should be arriving Wednesday. |

I like how you keep adding parts into your rig like they drop from the sky.
It's been a pleasure to watch you burn your $$ bro. My rig feels so empty compared to yours. This post has been edited by Lucassss: Aug 12 2013, 10:35 PM |

Only I'm doing it to a Full-ATX case and board. |
