QUOTE(mat79 @ Sep 8 2012, 11:59 PM)
hi, sorry not been too much help. Just sharing some tips n info which i believe many of u already know.

About tyre pressure. I believe all of us keep our tyre inflated as stated@recomended@printed at the car door coz over @ under inflated can effect on fc, tyre thread, ride n handling n most important part, safety. What printed or stated at the door is actually cold tyre pressure. When u drive ur car around 1.5km, its already hot, if u fill the air after that, its not that accurate.

The easiest rule of thumb to remember is always add another 4 psi when pump in the air coz hot air will cause ur tyre pressure increase 4 psi than cold tyre pressure. Meaning that if u already drive more than 1.5km, if u fill in 30psi(by looking at the pump meter), meaning that the hot tyre pressure is 30psi, but the real cold tyre pressure is only 26psi. So, if recommended tyre pressure 30psi, need to pump in 34psi, then the real cold air pressure is 30psi as recommended.

I know this is nothing, just sharing something. Bye, happy weekend.

This should have been read by me before i pump air into my tyre just now...

QUOTE(mat79 @ Sep 9 2012, 09:04 PM)
one more thing, front tyre pressure is higher than rear coz front of the car is heavier due to the engine n ff layout. So, make sure pump in according to the recomended as stated for front n rear n never pump same presure for both.

One more thing, popular belief, if front wheel drive car, when change tyre, the new one must put infront, for rear wheel drive, new one shud be at the rear. Actualllly, when change tyre, make sure the rear get the latest one coz most of cars are front wheel drive, so, on front wheel, it gets the most traction, while at the rear, it gets less traction coz nothing drive it. So, better put a better traction tyre behind@rear coz its help the rear to get better traction.

Unless driving avanza, beemer, merc@any rear wheel drive car, put the new one at the rear.

That's the famous OWV problem bro. Go have it checked at SC.
*
While it is advisable to have it checked at SC, no need to change OWV if there is no oil leak. I will not change it if there is no oil leak. Bear in mind, some owner who changed the OWV still experience the overcranking sound.

I think avoid it, please try this method to start car.

1. Insert Key Fob
2. Press Start Button
3. Press Start button again and wait for 10 seconds
4. Press foot brake and then press start button again.

Hope it helps.

i TEND TO AGREE WITH WHAT BRO gIGABit said here.. If no oil leak that thing is better be left untouched. Just try the new start up sequence. I've been doing that for months & mine is ok just fine.

Besides, Rufez's over-crank is so much less compared to our very own rich8833 here..

Kongyw, I can but now don't have any friends nearby to start the car while I'm filming the engine.. sweat.gif

Thank you for the support bro!

i used the 3 steps start up method and still got this over cranking sound. Well it is not only the over crank sound but the abnormal rev, look at the rpm meter.
*
Only change OWV if got oil leak, i think with ECU update and tuning, the abnormal rev will subside...mat79...am i right to say this?

Hmm.. hmm.gif Glenmarie SC izzit? I,ll make sure I won't go there in the future..

BTW, agreed that most of Proton SC sucks big time. Only a small chunk of them is good. No problem bro, as long as its Preve related, we're here to listen to u! thumbup.gif
Agreed. Last time the late fulat bro did went to EON SC that treated him like human being.. Its in PJ ss13 i think
*
Glenmarie SC is not EON meh? Anyway, i went there before and i think the issues was not solved. So do not bother going to the glenmarie one folks, those mechanic got uniformed lunch and breakfast time..all ramai-ramai makan. So if you r customer and come early to service....need to wait for them to finish their makan than can start work. Even then, they waste your time becoz all the issues can be easily solved within 1 hour but you need to wait for 2 hours! ohmy.gif

So, in the future planning to send the car to SS13 or Setapak instead.

On another note, Bro Dhuang...manyak awal masuk ofis...belum 8am sudah sampai ofis?

Correct, EON SS13 or Setapak 3S, among the 2 SCs that so far got the good rep nowadays. The other one would be Senawang I think. The one in ss14 PJ solved some of the issues but not all.Back in those days where deepan used to bring his car there. Donno where he is now though..

Ahaha, 7.30 got here bro. Fed up with jam like yesterday morning.. All hell's break loose in my area if u go out later than 7.00AM.  rclxub.gif Hehehe

Where r u staying? I leave my house at cheras at 7.30pm still can reach ofis before 8.30am...hehe...

Waah, still good la if like that.  thumbup.gif Used to have my autie living in Cheras also but now moved to Kg. Baru Cheras edy. Not too familiar with that area though. U drove here as well? Where did u park ur car?
Monitor it a bit bro. Make sure u have:

1. Used the 3 steps start method
2. Fully pressed the break when u push the start button
3. Release the break only after the engine stabilize/rev down back to 0.9 or 1k..

If still got it consecutively, check is there oil leak or not.. There's one brother here that advised put a cardbox under your car over night to see next day got oil or not.
*
Oh, macam itu, i think your area is heavily populated. I can either tumpang kereta or take LRT from Maluri Station. Car can parking near the neighbourhood around the station. Tried parking in Wilayah Complex....not worth it, took me an hour plus to return home. Take LRT, only have to spend 45 mins.

Tel: 03-78752413/4
Fax: 03-78771992

Cannot confirm on the clutch adaptation though.Sorry sweat.gif
Yup, keep the positive attitude up!  thumbup.gif U have my prayer that ur car won't have that thing.
Yup. Heavily populated would be the right answer bro.

Oh, never tried park at Wilayah Complex before. Good for u since ur home got LRT access to it bro. Unlucky me then  cry.gif  Yup, once stuck in jam for 2 & 1/2 hours for 17km, thats really not worth it. shakehead.gif
*
Wilayah Complex parking is RM7 a day......if park next Dang Wangi station (open air)..only pay RM5.50. Opposite Dang Wangi (Open air) i think is RM6?. If park cap square on monthly rate i think is RM150 that is about RM7.50 per day assuming you work 20 days.

Apa nak buat..KL mana-mana pun jam unless you stay at Cap Square residence biggrin.gif

same like my case last time, fed up with local bimmer dist, send email direct to germany, immediately got action from the local dist...

probably you can get dhuangdhuang & co to use the club as an official voice for owner's prob / concern.. maybe when they see this as a consolidated voice, they would take action to it.. have the letter sent to i-care cc proton top mgmt... then let see what might happen after that... i scared the top ppl don't see what happens at the working level... and also the owner's dissatisfaction..
*
Better send the email direct to Mohd Khamil Bin Jamil or Abdul Harith Bin Abdullah (Group Director, Automotive & Defense of DRB-Hicom) if you have their email address. I Care is more like I dun care LOL.

it is better u listen to the reviews by those who went to those SCs which provide good service...not plainly because SC said "need to refer HQ", then u go COSE....COSE is even worst than most of the SC out there (from what i read the reviews from those who went there)

just now, got one good review on Maluri SC, if its okay to u, why dont u go there instead?

Dear arthur88,

On another note, can post pics of your DIY soundproof rubber seal on your Preve?
