I could last a day easily; wifi 1-2 hrs, 3-4hrs music, no 3G, calls and messages as usual, and by nite 10-11pm still have 40%+. I think 3G/4G is sucking the battery. GPS will definitely suck the battery dry, same case for my previous phones.

On heat, my phone on gets hot while gaming, didnt use 3G so i cant say much about that.

Did M'sia's 8X get Portico? As far as i know only US and Canada got it.

Nokia's Portico update has more stuff including correcting the camera. Probably that's why it's taking longer for them. I'd rather wait instead of getting an update quick only for new bugs to appear.

They are changing for the better for sure, but they need to put in bigger batteries in their phones. The Droid DNA/J Butterfly is a monster in specs but i dont know how well it will do with only 2100mAh, which seemed like a no-brainer.
HTC's main prob is their marketing... You dont see them do aggressive advertising like Samsung and Nokia does.

Nah, 8X's features are nowhere close to Lumia 920. The only advantage is thinner and lighter. Beats is just a gimmick in the form of an equalizer. Windows Phone 8 has its own equalizer in the settings, under audio.

I dont feel the 920 being 'that heavy', yes it is heavier than other phones but online review sites exaggerate too much.

LOL I actually think the same way, when i mentioned im getting a new phone ppl will juz recommend iphone, S3 or Note 2, which kinda pisses me off. My sister have the Galaxy S2 and after i touched and used that phone i swear I wont buy a Samsung. Awful build quality. S3 might have improved a bit, just a bit. I was at a shop playing with all the Samsung phones on display, and all of them lagged, including S Advance, S2, S3 mini, Galaxy Beam except the S3 and Note 2, and yet those buying mid range phones go for Samsung brand.

I went windows phone just to be unique compared to other people, but i waited for WP8. Everyone is using Samsung, doesnt feel unique/exclusive anymore even if you are using a flagship. Pretty happy with WP8 so far, my laptop (or windows itself) is such a troll, always reject Bluetooth connection from any phone, cant even transfer files... However, the moment i activate my Lumia's BT my laptop will auto connect, and activate music stream.

Added on December 25, 2012, 5:48 pmAnd, clever arrangement of your tiles can make the UI look fantastic. Assign any photos to every contacts (if you are free enough) even if you do not have the photo of the person in the contact. The People tile shuffles them nicely.

Seems like many smartphone users do not read online gadget websites for updates. Many people dont read online when deciding what to buy, including choosing computers. I just facepalmed on a mall here in my hometown misleading people by telling people the windows RT tablets they are running "Windows 8" when they wont run desktop software.

That is a WP8 bug which the portico update is supposed to solve it, though, i havent experienced even once reboot or screen stutter, but sometimes when I replay the same song in the music player the song does stutter a bit. I think what app you install in the phone has relation to the problem, i always read the feedbacks first before deciding to install or not.

I removed it. It left some sticky stain, and i removed the stain by rubbing it hard with wet cloth (needs hot water).

Nope; if not mistaken under the sim tray have another warranty sticker; or as long you have the warranty card and receipt it's fine.

Cant imagine how the battery drain would be... i plan to use Maxis 4G LTE once they become available next year.

My phone lasted quite long with Wifi on and connected (FB keeps updating), 1 whole afternoon, like 5-6 hrs and I still have 60%. The only other thing i was doing is music. Cellular data is off all the time since i was using prepaid.

On FB for windows, i havent tried uploaded pics yet, but for my case, even on crowded public network like Starbucks or Penang free Wifi both FB app and Internet Explorer is blazing fast in loading and rendering pages. But i did notice the camera (taking lots of pics) drains the battery a lot; photos are damn bright...

I tend to leave my phone USBed to my laptop at nite as long im not using it, a slow charge until the next morning; the first nite i charged the phone 9 hrs.

Until WP gets file manager feature we cannot use USB OTG, that's what i think

Now that u mentioned this (i forgot wp8 have this issue) it seems like it was connected even when on sleep, but the apps running in background that require internet didnt update itself. I was downloading 11 app updates (the app store and download status is on the screen not in background) the phone went to sleep but the updating and downloads proceeded.

My data and roaming is switched off; i dont think the phone will switch to the data for my case. I think the app running on screen will run (the wifi connection icon is there), but background ones wont. But for my case it's updating the apps i installed, not downloading anything.

I left the settings > wifi page on my screen, went to sleep. After a minute switch it back on and it's still connected. Unless the phone is quick enough to establish a connection that i didnt even notice the attempt to connect after i wake the phone up from sleep...

Yup, i had 11 app updates but no portico yet.

Reminds me of the crap i went through with my N8, the phone went dead issue... I bought the phone from some shop, not nokia store, send the phone back to change motherboard (they r aware of the problem). 2 weeks, i get my phone back, and it happened again. after 2 weeks +, get back, use and test it, happened again! Lanj!ao... Seems like they tried to repair it and didnt change the parts inside to save cost for their own benefit... After i threatened them 3rd time only they change it.

Lumia 920 i juz go all the way to Gurney to get, drive far but at least their service is better...

Saw someone saying there is RM 150 voucher for those who preordered? Didnt get any call from Nokia Gurney Plaza, how to get the voucher? Dun tell me i have to go all the way down to penang again to show them my receipt (I am in mainland) =/

Im at Bukit Mertajam; if i could get the voucher by 6th January then i could get down to penang; Cuz my lectures start at 7th Jan. If the voucher can be used at any Nokia stores then maybe i can use it later since the wireless charging stand isnt in stock yet. I did consider the Purity HD headphones but it seems online reviews isnt good (but i like the removable cable), wont get the wireless Pro one though, bloody expensive. I damaged my past few headphones including a Sennheiser (1 side has no sound) from carrying them around just because of the cable got damaged (accidental pulls, or tangles, no idea ).

So, those who got it on launch day not counted. ==;

Though, i have to wait till dont-know-when to get the charging stand... standing one looks nicer to me lol
