Some resellers is selling with 8GB ram around 24xx . Typo?

It sound logic, but its stated 8GB ram in the spec confuse us.

Hope I get the default spec right as quoted by one reseller:
Y400, i7-3630QM + Nvidia GT750M(GDDR5)@RM2499, 4GB, 500GB, freeDOS, 120wPSU, swappable ODD, 2 yrs warranty.

price is rsp and negotiable.

Perhaps, the display unit is grey imported unit or being "abuse" by the potential buyers.

Why not you wait for upcoming new Y500 ETA coming next month?
Do you see any Y400/GT750m/freeDOS in Lowyat?

Z400 touch with i5 is good enough and cooler with less power consumption, unless u ve special needs for i7.

If you are gamer, better get Y400/GT750m/freeDos@2499 with better performance and cooling.

You can check the new set thoroughly before you pay. If touchpad is inconsistent, ask the reseller to help you adjust touch pad setting on synaptic till it work well.

You need to get Lenovo swappable HDD bay and not normal caddy bay as it can't fit it.
u can swap HDD with normal SSD and use HDD as external hardisk. Else get mSATA SSD.

nope, it won't fit properly due to different sizes between Y400 & Y500.

You can't use the normal HDD caddy bay as quoted by u since it can't properly fit in Y400/Y500 with special design and size.
Garage sales selling Lenovo removable HDD around 400 is not so worth it. Better get mSATA SSD.

Touch screen is not so user friendly on laptop and it make the laptop wobbly/hinge loose and full of finger print. Its not my cup of tea.

Z500 non touch still no news.

If you need more gaming power, the best choice is
Y400, i7-3630QM, GT750M(GDDR5)@RM2499, 4GB, 500GB, freeDOS, red backlit, 120w psu, ODD (swappable), 2 years
selling around RM23xx.

For gamer, better get Y400 with better cooling, gaming performance, red backlit, optional swappable gpu+170w adapter/ HDD/ fans, removable battery and easy dust cleaning.

Probably the display unit will have this issues, just ensure you get the new set in sealed box and check it thoroughly before you pay.
