DIY to the max = optional hotswappable ultrabay for gpu, HDD, ODD, fans.

Lenovo exclusive store in Mid Valley is the authorised reseller for Lenovo.

Its better to get in Lowyat, more shop and can bargain/ check kau-kau to get better deals. Some garage sales resellers also have shop in lowyat and most can cod at lowyat.

Dont forget the 1 to 1 exchange/ warranty service provide by the reputable resellers are also important.

If you need any advise, there are so many pro bro, sifu here to help you. You just need to make sure they give you good deal, 1 to 1 exchange service and good after sales service.

Dont forget to play-play with the display unit and check thoroughly before you pay.
If u need SSD, can check with them whether they can help you to install the mSATA SSD.

Use your remaining budget RM500 to increase RAM (4GB~80+), CM U2/U3 cooler~60+/80+, mSATA SSD 128GB~300+, extend to 3 yrs onsite warranty ~180+, upgrade 500GB HDD to 1TB < 100 depending on your needs.

I will choose extra 4GB RAM + U3 cooler + mSATA SSD 128GB to improve the overall system responsiveness and cooling to prolong its lifespan and get satisfactory user experience.

Y400/Y500 support sli and so they disable the optimus support.

I will choose the option for sli gaming rather than optimus since optimus might bottleneck or not support the gt650m sli gaming .

What is going to happen for those Y500/Y400 GT650m sli users?

Y500/Y400 are designed with sli gaming in mind. They need to compromise between sli gaming or optimus.

According to notebookcheck, Y500/GT650m sli provides a decent battery capacity of 72 Wh or 6700mAh. It will last around 3hr 10min for surfing and around 4hrs when idle. The battery life is only average.
Its still worth for me to sacrifice some of its battery life to get the sli option and boost the performance close to GTX670mx with the attractive pricing The upcoming new Y500/GT750m sli is expected to perform close to gtx675mx, is hard to resist around RRP 3.8k(my guess).
We can also disable the cpu/gpu boost to get more battery juice.
