Someone in garage sales is selling Y500 with single card GT750m from RM28xx. Probably is the default spec of the upcoming new Y500 as below.
Y500, i7-3630QM + Nvidia GT750M(GDDR5) + 1920x1080, 4GB, 500GB, 120W psu, swappable ODD, W8, red backlit, 2 yrs warranty

You can easily upgrade 500GB to 1TB or swap it with the reseller. nod.gif

Sorry I am not sure what the P stands for. I can't read chinese  sad.gif But from the pdf, I can see that it looks like a Y500 or Y400. The listed price is around RM500 more than the Y500 Sli. Maybe because of Maxwell. I thought of putting off the Y500 for a while but, then realize that the price of Y510 would probably be a lot greater than RM500 if other factors such as tax etc. are considered. Also, which is better, 14 inch or 15.6 for gaming. I know that the Y500 has to drive to 2 times the pixels. Is it better to get the Y500 and play future games at 1600x900? Or is Y400 more future proof.
*
Compare to Y400, Y500 has bigger and better full HD screen, better cooling and GT750m Sli option. If u wish to game on FHD, better get GT750m sli variant with much better performance. smile.gif

There won't be any major cpu performance gain for Haswell platform except intel igpu. Its not worth for the price increase on Y410/Y510 without any significant gain in performance since optimus is disabled.

Wait I thought I could add in the sli later by purchasing the additional gpu separately? My plan was to purchase the stock model and wait for a Lenovo discount before purchasing the second gpu (currently my budget is quite tight). Can I swap out the ODD and put in the extra gpu later with the basic Y400 or basic Y500 model for the matter? BTW here are some benchmarks done using the 750m sli

http://forum.notebookreview.com/ideapad-es...nchmarks-5.html

I think they overclocked it. Not sure how though. The performance is similar to a AMD 7970m/ 680m.
*
If u wish to sli later and have tight budget, Y500 basic model is a better choice with better cooling & sli option. Later if u have extra budget & need performance boost, add in 170w adapter and second swappable gpu (swap it with swappable ODD). smile.gif

I wonder Lenovo will launch second swappable gpu(GT750m) for Y400, since no where to be seen till todate. hmm.gif
I won't think is a good idea to do sli gaming on 14" Y400 just imagin the heat generated by i7 & dual gpus.

GT750m sli performance according to notebookcheck early reviews quoted below:
http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForc...LI.91280.0.html
"Depending on clock speed and memory configuration, the GT 750M SLI performs similar to a single GeForce GTX 675MX. Depending on the game, there can be big differences here, depending on how well SLI scales in a particular case. Overall, most current games (as of 2013) can be played fluently in 1080p and (very) high settings."

Will the y400 have gt750m sli?
*
Most probably no, since swappable GT750m for Y400 still no where to be seen till todate. According to trustworthy reseller in China, there won't be any of it for Y400 and its only available for Y500.
imo, its not advisable to do sli gaming on 14" Y400 due to heat generated by i7 & dual gpus. smile.gif

Only the Y500 with the ODD is available at RM3099.

I din check upstairs with Thundermatch and other stores though, I'd just went straight for the Official Lenovo reseller only

Look like the stocks is very very limited, remain last 4 units only. sweat.gif
