not just sata3 port but an extra sata3 port because i want to add SSD into my laptop, not replace my HDD  cry.gif

Is it possible to check from the lenovo website?
*
If sata3 port is at HDD slot for Z400, you can swap your HDD with SSD. Get a suitable slim caddy bay to place your HDD and swap it with ODD. Use the ODD as external drive. This is similar to how Y580/Y480 users installed their SSD. laugh.gif

If you want to retain your ODD in laptop, then use the HDD as external drive. biggrin.gif

Suitable slim caddy bay? is it an extra component or is it in the laptop? rclxub.gif

Furthermore, i dont think the ODD is swappable for the HDD. Correct me if i'm wrong
*
HDD caddy bay:

More info here: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2363123

You need to get the same size caddy bay like your slim ODD from the reseller, so that it can fit nicely in the ODD slot.
Its not so easily swappable like Y400/Y500. tongue.gif

If you wish to upgrade the ram, ssd for Z400. Suggest you to get ready the ram, ssd and caddy bay, ask the reseller to do it for you when you buy Z400. It will save the trouble for you and you can learn how they do it. laugh.gif

You need to make sure HDD slot is sata3 before you get the SSD. nod.gif

US is much cheaper than MY . My guess is Y500/GT750m sli around RRP 3.8-3.9k. tongue.gif
Best is to wait for more reviews and user feedback on upcoming Y500/Y400. laugh.gif

Ehh laptops nowadays come with SATA3 for the HDD?

Btw, not exactly a requirement to need SATA3 for the SSD. Even on SATA2 it's an incredibly fast already, same goes to desktop PCs nod.gif smile.gif

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/sata-6...3gbps,3110.html
*
Thought 3GB/s sata2 will bottleneck the SSD performance. doh.gif
Thanks for sharing the info.

Hey man, thanks but i got bad experience against acer so nah, will stick to lenovo tongue.gif

Any y400 owners got comment on the viewing angle of y400?
*
IPs screen will have better viewing angle than most of the traditional laptops screen with TN panels. But its rare to see in the laptop space. Perhaps, the future Y series will come with full HD IPS screen also, who knows. laugh.gif

Yeah, well but Lenovo Malaysia really no discount... event on PC fair  dry.gif
They told me RM 3,799 for an old model 650M SLI so disapointed, while AP agent sell US spec 650m (incld ssd + higher ram + high hdd) at RM 3,299 hmm.gif

I was putting a very high hope on PC fair, but I end up go back with nothing

I think for 750m SLI local Malaysia set will cost over 4K or very near to 4K ( 3,999 )
*
Local set Y500/GT650m sli is selling around RM34xx close to grey imported set at 3299 with higher US spec. It save the trouble for 1 to 1 exchange and major warranty claims issues.

QUOTE(mafiosojdm @ Apr 16 2013, 06:44 PM)
The Y500 came with 1 year International warranty. I am at least not so scare compare get 1 from AP agent, because I will have the original receipt from US.

PS: *touchwood  notworthy.gif  we ofcuz will pray hard that nothing is happen though we have the warranty
*
Pls ensure you get the proper official receipt/Invoice from US Lenovo or their authorised resellers in US. Check out whether the US international warranty cover full refund or 1 to 1 replacement major warranty claims in MY, just in case you are unlucky to get the bad apple. tongue.gif

Looking forward for the poisoness reviews and benchmarks from you. brows.gif

16GB is overkill for most users, unless you have the special needs. laugh.gif
Get 8 GB is more than enough, use extra cash for SSD is better.

It might come with freeDos and lower RRP... hmm.gif . Then 4GB or 8GB + mSATA SSD might be possible around 3k... laugh.gif

Suggest to get u2/u3 cooler which have better cooling than ultrabay fans due to large ventilation area at the bottom of Y400. biggrin.gif

Its not a common problem according to Devour as quoted below. laugh.gif
Perhaps, is the problem for the grey imported set or isolated issues.
You can check with Y series users here: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2619081

Y400 user benchmarks below shown GT750m(GDDR5) performance match GTX670m. brows.gif
3Dmark11 P Gpu GT750m(GDDR5)= 2736 similar to GTX670m=2730(avg from notebookcheck)

Its the fastest GT750m with GDDR5 as reported in notebookcheck.
http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForc...0M.90245.0.html

The new GPU boost 2.0 in GT750m will boost the default boost clock of 967mhz to 1058mhz under full load with Furmark as per GPUz shown below. brows.gif

GT 750M SLI performs up to GTX 675MX according to notebookcheck.
drool.gif
Quoted from notebookcheck: http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForc...LI.91280.0.html
"Depending on clock speed and memory configuration, the GT 750M SLI performs similar to a single GeForce GTX 675MX. Depending on the game, there can be big differences here, depending on how well SLI scales in a particular case. Overall, most current games (as of 2013) can be played fluently in 1080p and (very) high settings."

Its better to wait for more real world gaming benchmarks & pro reviews. icon_rolleyes.gif
