since i have wifi at home and office, would it be smart for me to buy Gnote II without data plan? if i need to travel outstation once in a while like once per month and need internet access i could just subscribe to Celcom Daily or weekly which is still cheaper than having a data plan.

o.O like this then note 2 normally is 2399
*
why u say that when based on trend...

s3 pricing follows s2 pricing.

so note2 pricing follows note 1 pricing... which should be rm2299.

bear in mind... we're referring to launch price and not the price after 3-6mths later. and also... we're referring to RRP, not those discount you get from dealers, etc...

i'd say that i'm 99.9999999% sure that it'll be rm2299. biggrin.gif

depends on your usage. for me... i want access on the go... while travelling between office & home... or weekends when i'm at relative's house, etc... or at night when having coffee at mamak place, etc...

data plans can be fairly cheap. u mobile's U58 plan... rm58 per month for 2GB. got free voice calls too. but of course good only in Klang Valley (for now -- maybe once migration to Maxis complete -- should see more coverage but possibly EDGE and not 3G).

S3 pricing follows S2 pricing?

S2 RRP is RM2099, S3 RRP is RM2199.

So Note II will be RM2399 as Note RRP is RM2299.

Let just hope it below or same as Note which is RM2299.

S2 is now selling @ 13xx, while S3 is 17xx

assume that 4xx difference:

Note 1 now is 16xx

so Note 2 should be...... 20xx? drool.gif

just my own syok-sendiri assumption, dont take it seriously biggrin.gif

PS: prices based on SME units by fellow reputable traders @ LYN

haiz... blush.gif

looks like i am really getting old... coz i was fairly certain SGS2 RRP was rm2199 when launch.

i guess if that is the case... ya, rm2399 for Note 2 should follow the trend.

What I stated earlier is RRP when its land in MY. Now S2 RRP is more cheaper.
If Note 2 below RM2100, then it's a killer. S3 might drop another RM200. biggrin.gif

it does make sense if Note 2 is selling lower than what most of us expected, since Samsung is beginning to slash price for top-range devices.....

the S3 launching RRP was 2199, and now selling for as low as 17xx, that is like average of reducing rm100 per month biggrin.gif

when i first get my Android phone - the HTC Desire, i was also doing the same - wifi at home & office and hotspot while outside at eateries. Only after signing up a DiGi 3G contract for Desire HD then only i found out the freedom of having internet everywhere. biggrin.gif and only after i sign up 3G line for my wife's S3 with Maxis then I found out how much faster is Maxis 3G compared to DiGi. sweat.gif But 1 thing very strange in Johor Bahru, DiGi 3G coverage is somehow better than Maxis in certain places especially new housing area although their speed is only 1mbps plus. hmm.gif

you sure 24months SME warranty? I thought only 12 months? I think my HTC Desire HD come with 1+1 year warranty if register the warranty within 14 days of purchase iirc. Dun remember there is 24 months warranty when i bought Note on Day1 (11.11.11) last year. hmm.gif

EDIT: hmm... i remember now... the DiGi and other Telcos units only 12 months warranty, the earlier batch of Note from SME is 24 months iirc. tongue.gif

that one applied to all Samsung phones... sold thru SEP. they stopped that program in early 2012, i think. now all phones also 12mths, regardless of where it is from.

but ya... good if Samsung can offer something like this again...
