I wish Maxis will offer the same RM999 S3 Package for 2 year contract (RM30 call + RM68 3GB data monthly) for the Note II.

it was officially announced only Aug 29, where got so fast 2 months already. biggrin.gif Not even one month but it feels like so long. tongue.gif

I am not in the hurry though, hope it arrive as late as possible, best if after Nov 11. laugh.gif My "balance" wish is it arrives on Oct 15-16, just in time for me to MNP from DiGi back to Maxis. thumbup.gif

Respect those wishing to try android considering this Note 2. An expensive trial
I would suggest such users get started with the cheaper galaxy nexus for true jb android experience

Few of my wife's colleagues jump ship from Iphone to SIII and they found the Android system complicated, confusing and a lot of things need to setup. After a while, i think they are doing fine now. But I think most likely they will jump back to IP5 when it is launched here. rolleyes.gif

1) anti-ios

2) loyal symbian user (since sabun until n97)

3) dont like BB

4) bored with windows (since omnia until lumia)

so end up on android  biggrin.gif

i not sure about other Note 2 fans here, but to be honest, my main reason of choosing Note 2 is because of the screen size..... or else, i will be buying S3 or One X many weeks ago  sweat.gif
*
for the screen size, you should have bought the Note last November. tongue.gif

I see myself liking the note 2 for the following:

1. SCREEN SIZE.
2. Batt life
3. Note & Pen (I almost always want to jot down notes and its annoying when I can't find pen and paper around when I need it the most).
*
one of my wish is to have a "pen" that have a build in real pen inside. Like my previous old school Palm stylus which have a tiny ballpoint pen inside - very handy when you are somewhere in post office or bank for filling in forms etc. But after I knew Note II come with a much sophisticated Pen, i dun think it is possible for third part to come out such pen unless Samsung hears my prayer and make one.

I don't think I'd have any issues adjusting myself into Android, it'd be more challenging in fact LOL. And the reason for me to switch, to Galaxy Note 2

- Bored with iOS
- Customizable
- Android is better as an organizer than iOS
- Can write/draw and be creative

AND can make me look like a successful businessman tongue.gif
*
for this reason, you should get a Tab 7.7. laugh.gif I sold my Note and are using a Tab 7.7 at the moment before the Note II arrives. Need to hand carry the Tab 7.7 whenever i go out for lunch now, really looks like a business uncle with my office attire. doh.gif

i pray for:

1) fast price reduction (just like S3)

2) my pocket got $$$

3) u-mobile dont give me any headache

laugh.gif
*
not consider signing contract? I got S3 for my wife at RM999 only with Maxis 2 years contract. I consider it very worth since we need the data plan anyway and my wife does not change her phone very often.

Some calculations for S3:
(RM30 calls + RM68 3GB data) x 24 + RM999 - RM2,199 RRP = RM1,152
RM1152/24 = RM48/month for calls and 3GB data, well worth it.

Cross finger that they will also offer Note II at the same price with the same package. biggrin.gif

Taiwan Samsung is offering free extra original battery, charger and flipcase for early bird. They always give a better deal in HK and Taiwan. sad.gif We only get a free flipcase if lucky. S3 get nothing extra at all!!

Sorry, it will be my first time using Android. sweat.gif

When you guys mentioned the "website", this is the one right? https://play.google.com/store

yes, that's the correct link. But i am not sure if you can buy it via the web/PC if you have not sign in with any Android device before. hmm.gif

i'd even go further and suggest u add to someone using GNote1. that way, anything that works on Gnote1 should work on GNote 2.
*
not necessary, I found out quite a few of my apps running fine on my Note cannot be run on my wife's S3, might due to different screen ratio. I think borrow a S3 from friend for that purpose is more suitable since Note II will be having the same screen reso as S3. Moreover, i think it is easier to find a friend with S3 than a Note.

Must it be a S3?
I have colleagues and friends with S2 and my sister is using a Motorola XT720 which is an old model of Android.
How long more the promo will end?
*
S3 is best since it is the latest model and same screen resolution as Note II. S2 most likely is workable but too old model might have problem as when you click on Buy at the PC web browser, it might prevent you to buy saying the app is not compatible with your device.

OK, I'm so going to give her a call later. biggrin.gif

not yet an Android user? Time to jump ship to Android. biggrin.gif Yes, we can use the same apps in as many devices as we own. The apps I bought when I got my HTC Desire about 3 years ago can be used in all the subsequent Android devices I have, including the latest one. biggrin.gif

Already asked this morning, cannot.
I tried myself as well, cannot.

My friend just called, can't find my username when she tries to login my Google account on her S3.
So, I'll register one specially for apps only.

Added on September 27, 2012, 6:57 pmBy the way guys, my friend tried using my Gmail to login into her S3, got the below error. Then, I registered new Gmail account also shows the same error. Can you guys tell us what is going wrong here? sad.gif

*
rclxub.gif rclxub.gif your friend is doing it the wrong way. He/She should not go and change user name. Of course this error will come out as you already register the name, you friend sure cannot change his/her username to the same. Instead, add an account to his/her Google Play Store by Menu>>Add Account. Then sign in with your account. I think no need to register Credit Card info at this moment.

I think you should follow this:
1. Setup a new google account (actually your existing one should work fine if you friend is doing it the wrong way as i mentioned above).
2. Sign in your friend's S3 Google Play account with your account, you need to give her your username and password. Not changing her/his username. tongue.gif
3. Now go download some free apps.
4. Then remove the account from her/his Google Play Store.
5. Change your Gmail password.
6. From now on, you should be able to buy it from PC web browser after set up Google Wallet.

Hope this helps. smile.gif

Only one user name per phone can download apps. Your friend must factory reset her phone so that it can download apps under your gmail id

Your proposed name already taken up by others
*
can lah, uncle Benny, my wife's S3 has 2 accounts set up at Google Play Store - mine with Google Wallet setup and hers without any CC info. Just need to switch account when you want to download any apps.

but some apps will stop working like a paid apps once your account is removed (eg. Titanium backup, Poweramp Unlocker, etc). But most games still working like a paid version even if the account is removed.

For GNote, how long for it to reach Malaysia after it was officially released in other countries? Then, we can agak-agak the timeline. biggrin.gif
*
Note was announced in Berlin IFA 2011 on September 1, 2011. Launched in Malaysia 11.11.11.

Note II was also announced in the same event this year but the event held slightly earlier on August 28, 2012.

But I think most likely Note II's launch will not be dragged until Nov.

57 pages and I still don't see any ideas on how should guys carry around this phone?
*
how should a guy carry it? just put it inside your pant's pocket!! laugh.gif seriously, dun be concern at all by its size. I can put the wider Note in my office slack and bermuda pants comfortably, let alone the slimmer Note II. For jeans, it might take some effort to put it in and out of your pocket when sitting.

this question has been asked and answered gazillion time in the Note thread last year. rclxub.gif
