QUOTE(Ramjade @ May 25 2013, 09:02 PM)
Why you all say this phone is nice? I am considering this phone or xperia zr. I would like to know the following :

1. Are the pictures taken by this camera good?
2. How long is the battery life after usage of 1 week?
3. How is the screen when view under sunlight?
4. Do the rubber or the any part of the phone wear out after some time?
5. Anyone accidentally drop their phone without protection before?
*
1. Pictures taken: Not bad but compared to Xperia z confirm lose la. I think the camera is good enough to take some good pics.
2. Battery life: abit poor in my opinion. Heavy usage( gaming and keep gaming)-5-8 hours of battery life. Minimal usage( fb and whatsapp and some browsing) - shud get around 12- 18 hours depending on how you use
3. Screen is not so bright under the sun but still able to read quite ok, can on the backlight if really too dark
4. Nope, rubber part haven't wear off yet, hopefully it won't
5.I only dropped it on the carpet b4 without protection

Wt about the silver colour lining at the side of the phone. Does it starts to chip off?
*
It will only chip off if you scratched it against something really sharp

QUOTE(magnumrolez @ May 26 2013, 01:33 AM)
but read a lot of review that superior auto did great, kinda disagree with it because even superior auto took picture in default setting, it is only 12mp, instead normal mode took in same setting with 13mp
*
Superior auto mode works great most of the time but there are times when normal mode works better( if you know how to set it properly)

Just got my V today, everything is great except the screen,it seems yellowish,is this normal?
*
Take a picture of a white A4 paper and see whether is it still yellowish or not. If it is, then it's not normal

I do some search online and found out some Xperia V uses china made panel, hence the yellowish display..

Any other owner has the yellowish screen?
*
Nope, mine doesn't have the yellowish screen

personally i think that water resistance is not an advantage at all, furthermore its water resistance covers are troublesome when plugging in earphone and charger.
*
Yes, I hate port flaps as much as you do. I cant imagine when they will become loose and start breaking off

QUOTE(NotScammer @ Jun 3 2013, 10:15 PM)
Hi XV people! I'm going to get this angel a.s.a.p,like tomorrow or the day after..

So I got a few question here, hopefully you guys can answer it with something that will not change my mind  sweat.gif

I) do the 9.1.A.1.140 really fix the SOD problem?

II) what is the common issue that you guys discover after use it this whole time?

III) I plan to get from Satu Gadget Dot Com, is there anything wrong with this choice?

Thanks in advance!!

thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif
*
I) Yes .140 update claims to fix SOD bug and so far, there has been no complain of the SOD after the update
II)My issues with this phone:
a) My wifi keeps turning off by itself
b) Notification light bug. Notification light doesn't work if battery extended mode is on
c) Lack of memory. My phone memory left: 512 Mb, Internal storage left: 1.1 Gb although all photos and music were transferred to SD card
d) Auto light sensor, as said by magnumrolez. The sensor takes quite some time to respond when going to a place with different light setting(dark place --> bright place or vice versa). That's if you put "Adapt to lighting conditions".
III) No problem with that

no problem for wifi for me but the back light sensor is indeed sucks. May I know when you ticked adapt to lighting condition, what is the brightness bar you set? Under right sun light, i stood for 1 minute i dont see (or maybe too minor to spot the difference) the changes and it is hard to see mt screen...if i manually put the slider to max, then i can see well...
*
I'm currently not using the "Adapt to lighting conditions" but last time I set it to around 50-60% brightness. Actually, the changes are too minor to spot and if you want to view it under bright sunlight, turn on the backlight(equivalent to 100% brightness) and turn it off later. Here's another bug, when backlight is turned off later, the brightness will not return to the previous brightness but instead will be around 15-20% brightness

15 min usage, vid, music, and playing with camera, it started to get hot!..
Do this thing normal and happen to you guys XV aswell?  sweat.gif

One more thing is that, after asking few sony centre in klang valley, it seems that they dont have the battery, BA800
with them,so I wonder, is there any alternative that you guys do other than get the mugen battery?

then i just use the current SP firs tla...later onlyreplace...i almost stuck another SP on the factory one  sweat.gif  doh.gif
.

Anyway sim card can detect but a bit tricky to put the broken part in haha...
*
I put another sp on the factory one. actually the factory one is not really sp but shatter proof sheet for the glass. The sp is not scratch resistant (very easy to be scratched)

QUOTE(debigwan @ Jun 23 2013, 05:05 PM)
hey guys, i know this has been asked many times and is kinda subjective.
is the battery life is that bad. i mean i read on xda that it can't barely last 4-5 hours if on 3g. im interested to own this phone but im a heavy user as well. especially in web browsing. need xv users opinion. smile.gif
*
idk much about battery life in 3g but in heavy web browsing, it can at least last 5-7 hours of continuous usage (depending on screen brightness). If play heavy games= 4-5 hours only

i downloaded the 9.1.A.1.145 firmware from http://developer.sonymobile.com/, but when i tried to flash it manually with Flash tool for Xperia™ devices, it didn't recognized my xperia V. Later i found out that Xperia V is not one of the supported models.

can you tell us your way?thx biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Just updated to .145 via pc companion. Seems like notification light finally works on extended standby mode.
