i bought my xperia V less than a month and i rarely had a chance to use it. the phone stood in service centre so often ^^
3rd attempts to repair last friday, i even asked for new unit to be swapped. Sony refused to do so.
phone problem: gsm signal intermittent, overheat on touch screen even for 10 mins of internet browsing (no other apps were running)
my back cover got creaky annoying sound after check out for 2nd time from service centre and my battery cell seems leaking.
rm1.5k wasted
*
I also had overheating problems at first, but it seems ok for now. It will only overheat if I play games for >30 mins.
I don't think Sony can fix the back cover's creaky sound and there are quite a number of ppl complaining abt this, including me. It's a common problem for the V

Guys,do your xperia v side chrome start pilling off?
*
Nope and I hope it wont peel off. I've seen the plastic on the side flaps on Xperia Z peeling off. I hope it wont peel off for the V

[Edit] Another question to ask you guys, I don't want my recordings to be played on the Walkman. Any way to remove this?

I get quotes of 1430 for Ori, 1180 for AP, since this is a water resistant phone, is there any issue for AP warranty if the phone is damaged by water?
*
No idea, but i would prefer to get ori instead of ap

Guys I wanna ask whether on the top right of your lockscreen there got time or not. Mine like missing liao. But after screen is unlocked, the time reappears. Is mine missing or I'm being too paranoid?

Edit: I restarted my phone a few times and problem is solved.

can anyone please help me for quoted queries?
btw, not many users reported SOD in this thread, while other forum blasting like hell...is it because there is no issue on msia xperia v or not many users are using this phone?
*
Yea the phonebook loads abit slow, probably about 1-2 sec to load the contacts list.
I think the best way to solve SOD is to off wifi when you're not using

thanks for your reply. How about the free ram and camera startup?
so you got SOD everytime when you on wifi?
*
If you read in other forums, almost all of them kena SOD with wifi on. And turning off wifi when not using won't harm rite? Erm, camera startup is about 1 sec, a little laggy sometimes

it will autofocus...

the time to get from one focus point to another sometimes could be longer depending the distance you wanna zoom
*
In my opinion, the autofocus is too slow especially when focusing on near objects. It usually takes abt 3-5 sec to focus but if the camera cannot detect the object you want to focus on, it will take a very long time before it focuses and will finally lose focus again.

Just updated the firmware. First thing I noticed is they changed the "Data traffic is disabled" to "Mobile Data is disabled". Walkman bug seems to be solved. Overheating problems seems ok for now.

Bugs that I'm not sure whether they are solved or not:
1. SOD bug - will try this out for the next few days
2. Battery level bug - there are some who are already complaining abt this bug including me. I'll also try and monitor my battery level
3. Notification light bug- Havent got any notifications now, will update status later

Notification light bug is indeed solved. Still no signs of SOD (keeping fingers crossed that SOD will not occur). Battery level bug is still not solved.

Thanks for the list bro!

Wanna ask,
What notification light issue you face previously before the update?
*
Erm, notification lights to indicate missed calls, Fb messages or whatsapp messages are not working. They should change colour accordingly like blue for FB & white for missed calls. Btw, the problem is still not solved. I tested them again after I posted a reply saying that the problem is indeed solved. The lights did light up but only for a few seconds before turning itself off again.

are the extended standby mode on..? when on, its dont show any notification(maybe to conserve battery...).. and if off, it work perfectly..
*
Yes, extended standby mode is on. But the weird thing is FB notification works even in extended standby mode. Only missed call and sms notification doesnt work in extended standby mode. btw, thanks for the info. the notification light works if I off the extended standby mode
