In short, the question is what caused the engine check light turn on at >3.5k rpm... hmm...tricky.
Proton SC did not try to reset the ecu?
I think you have to search for the causes of engine check light turn on and pinpoint the closest one which related to your problem.
Even a wrongly clean up throttle body can caused the engine check light to turn on sweat.gif

I think for the red cover with campro cps word on it. Hard to say where can source the screw, maybe can try search local bolt & nut shop or hardware shop. If still no luck ask proton service centre.

My car having symptoms of a failing oxygen sensor includes:
Sensor Light on dash indicates problem
Increased fuel consumption
Hesitation on acceleration

First time Engine Check Light turn on during Sept2012 when i'm going Cameron Highlands,
that time mileage around 98k+ km.
after that the ECL suka suka lights up until now.
i believe the O2 Sensor is the culprit.

Hey guys,

some story to share, I guess some of you notice my car break down a week+ ago in Taman Connaught around 11pm when i was on my way to my girl house.

symptoms of failure:

- engine suddenly lost power.
- engine making boor boor boor sound when acceleration.
- car jerking like hell at low RPM.

Manage to pull my car at roadside,
(die die drive it out of the main Connaught Highway)

seeking advice from a friend and he suspect is the spark plugs failure after listen my description.

call my girl and wanted she come fetch me back home take tools because i wanted to remove spark plugs by myself and so late night all workshop closed.

After get the tools and spare stock spark plugs,

first and second spark plugs remove successfully,
(very very tight)

when i try to remove the third plug cable,

bad thing happened, the plug cable front portion broken !
(first, second and fourth remove easily)

Attached Image Attached Image

Suspected the inconsistent voltage supply cause spark plug cable broken.
(die die drive back to safe place)

due to i don't have long nose pliers, i have to leave my car overnight there..........

since one of the Spark Plug cable broken, it must replace,

got price quoted from a friend who selling Genuine Proton Spare Parts,

Kindly take note the standard Campro Spark Plug Cable is different compare with Campro CPS Spark Plug,

if same use why Proton come out two different part number at the first place, right?

Attached Image

after bought spark plug cable back to my car,

hands was so tired yesterday eventually seeking help from a workshop nearby,

paying a workmanship service to remove and re-install stock spark plugs and cable.

at last car back to vroom vroom mode!

on the way back home my car suffering low RPM (1.8k rpm - 2.8k rpm) jerking badly !

at first i thought is the stock plugs issue, after back home do one round internet research,

it could be a possible Ignition Coil faulty !

As understand our car ignition coil is under brand Bosch,

a quick search in mudah.my,

got one seller selling wrongly bought ignition coil,

with no further hesitate i drive to Kg Keramat and COD with him at the same day, deal with great price.

A short discuss with that guy he also driving a Gen2,

but his problem is on the plug cable but bought the ignition coil as standby unit in case his car ignition coil rosak also.

Attached Image

Chit Chat finished fast fast back home DIY,

took me two hours to replace the ignition coil,

start engine and a short drive nearby,

Viola ! no more jerking at low RPM !!!

personal feeling is that the car feel more solid in whole rpm range with less vibration.

Total cost to replace both items:
Genuine Proton Spark Plug Cable = RM270
Workmanship = RM10
Bosch Ignition Coil = RM100
Total = RM380.

the stock spark plugs would be temporary usage, will get it change back to Iridium Spark Plugs soon.

Notice the faulty spark plug?
Attached Image
Terminal damaged...

Ignition System consist below three items:
- Spark Plug
- Spark Plug Cable
- Ignition Coil

got it all check if you feel abnormal on your car.

After replaced all the parts,

i guess is necessary to pay a visit to Service Center for Proton Advance Diagnostic Tool (PADT) checking,

the guy plug in the PADT tool into ODBII Port,

using WiFi to connect with his laptop.

the guy help me clear all the errors detected in off engine status.

re-check again in Engine Cranked.

below are the error screenshots i capture:

Attached Image
O2 Sensor giving Engine Check Light turn on intermittently,

it could be in no so good condition already.

The Technician mention if this indicate light up again is time to replace the sensor.

Attached Image
the ABS indicator light up after last time Dyno due to front wheel rolling only when Dyno-ing, not a big issue i guess.

Attached Image
this error, no idea what is that..

but i never see this indicator lights up before.

charges for checking is RM60.

Apologize for long winded,

just sharing and Thanks for watching. laugh.gif

Wah! Proton ori spark plug is so expensive. I can buy brisk spark plug already.

You get your car done in PESC Desa Tun Razak?
Just curios, error code B1003-41 is a symptom of clock spring almost end of life span?
