QUOTE(stan001 @ Sep 4 2012, 01:09 AM)
Need some advise from fellow Nikonians...

Wanna get a zoom lens cos my current gears is only up to 50mm..

Narrow down my choices to the below lens based on my budget / requirements...

Do not mind getting second hand lens ....

1. 55-200mm ( AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED )
2. 70-300mm ( AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED )

( Pls dun recommend me the f/2.8 version... )

Which lens should I invest in ?

Any other options/suggestions ?

The Tamron SP 70-300mm is similar price to Nikon, so just go for Nikkor lens...

Thanks...
*
You can get 55-300 as well, cheaper than 70-300, but that 70-300 is full frame lens with internal focus

Not sure how good is tamron since i never try it before

The movement of up and down is by man.
Then the tilting of camera is by wire, they usually port the video to external lcd so they can see at bottom to control the view.
*
that guy who control the boom also controlling the movement of camera? macam a lot of work leh

QUOTE(Sadru @ Sep 8 2012, 10:58 PM)
guys, i wonder if its really standard for A mode to put 1/60 when we using flash? i am pairing it up with sb700 but really i needed to set it a bit higher since the 1/60 are very prove to blur even with flash.

any way to sort or change it since A mode are quite sufficient/ hassle free when shooting fast paced event sad.gif

how you manage to get to the other side? the scariest part of putrajaya is getting lost in the middle of no where shakehead.gif

i shouldn't worry about safety much if i travel alone there right? since saturday and sunday that place is literally a ghost town

i only got 35mm and 55-300mm, really limit to what i can shoot in landscape, sometime i need wide angle but dont have doh.gif maybe i should get a cheap used kitlens hmm.gif

Hehe, now that I use D7000, should I be worry about using high ISO?? laugh.gif  thumbup.gif

Usually I don't often use SS less than 125s, old man like me has pretty bad hand shake... cry.gif  sad.gif
*
this kind of event is best for practising, if you dont practise your low shutter, next time you need to go lower shutter you wont be able to do it and cause you to miss some important shoots

i only use faster than 1/80s when i think the shoots is very important and no mistake can be made, otherwise i will just go as slow as i can go, around 1/60 or 1/80

Unless for static subjects, using 1/60 or less might caused motion blur for human leh... sweat.gif, especially the hands and legs will get blur.

Even using 1/125s for fashion event is really not enough, need to use 1/500s or more.. smile.gif
*
now the model just standstill and let you shoot of course you can go slower shutter la, fashion walk is different because the subject is WALKING, in your case now the subject is pretty much a static object

if you get blur image means you need to improve on your stability la
