There is a difference between a REPAIR and REARM.

Your rearm bill is high because you're a LRM boat. Get that right plox.

And to quote the patch notes:

"We've also made changes to the economy of the game. Firstly, we standardized MC to C-Bill pricing. Secondly, we've lowered engine prices and item prices have been increased. This all adds up to, Mech costs being the sum of it's parts. While it doesn't follow the canon pricing, it is close."

Item price increase = Repair cost increase.

Not to mention you are running an XL Engine.

Nah thats screenshots not mine but back to the point

this economic update gimps alot of non-premium players. Every match is either little profit of 1k-10k cbills or negative profit.
Its like this patch is saying "yeah buy premium every month so you can maintain better mechs, weapons, engines and upgrades"
Its closed to borderline pay2win.

So currently the founders have the advantage of maintaining high end mechs, lrm boats while the free2play have to resort to subpar trial mechs tthat can't be customized to your liking to earn profit.
I hope they rebalanced the economy

No, what this means is that people need to learn how to play better. Be it individual skill or forming up their own lance, or joining up with the numerous established Merc Corps to keep their cost down.

The eventual meat and potatoes of the "Online" bit of MWO would be community warfare, where by individual mechwarriors would eventually be shoehorned, if a player chooses to, into either a Merc Corps or House Allegiance.

Right now, in the closed beta, it is pretty much only mech warfare. Drop in, hammer the 8 other mechs and hopefully you dont die too much. And it will be like that for sometime more till they fix the other bugs.

It is not pay to win. A premium account or a founders' mech is pay for convenience. The convenience is the ability to earn C-bills faster.

Dont want to grind as much ? Pay for premium or buy a mech outright.

Well, the concept of pay to win is fairly simple. Let's take blackshot for an example. You pay cash for guns with extremely low recoil/high damage. Obviously, you just paid for an advantage there as two players of similar skill (of course, a pro player would headshot you just as well with his stock m16) go head on, the player with the money-bought gun would win.

What we see here is the average non-founder feels restricted and frustrated with the trial mechs and henceforth, assume that the people willing to plonk down some cash for premium bonuses are paying to win.

As Auricom mentioned earlier, the premium bonuses are only there for 1 thing, to save your time. There is no advantage gained by piloting a founder's mech. Our onboard weaponry is not Clantech/Lostech, we do not have modular omnimechs, and our mech is virtually a carbon copy of a standard prime variant. So, we are not paying to win.

Trial mechs are there for 1 thing, RUN HOT or DIE. Practice, find good tactics, use team-mates as meat shields. Our 'modded' mechs differ from the trials by just one major thing - we can sustain a longer duration of fire due to efficient heat management; with the cost of having lower firepower than a trial mech.

Good luck.

I'll probably wont be playing Mechwarrior Online until the full release of the game is out. The way the beta is now, does feel a little bit disappointing to me but a beta is beta, things are meant to be broken and unfinished. The way the game is quite depressing to play. I played the closed beta and it doesnt even feel as fun as Mechwarrior 4 with terrible performance issues.

Still, i am hoping that this game will have a nice balance between paying players and free players. I will pay for the game in one way or another, but if they are expecting me to pay a 4 figure price to fully enjoy the game, then, sorry, i wont be playing this.

Free to play is a very difficult game to develop where if you emphasize on the paying side too much, you'll get pay to win like those awful asian MMOs. One the other hand, if you focus too much on giving out free stuff, you'll run into the problem of not earning enough money. One of the new free to play game, Auto Club Revolution ran into this problem because the free cars are actually the best cars in the game.

Great. Updated into first page. I have no idea on that yet. Upgraded to Double Heat Sink though. Not sure DHS got huge improvement or not. Just that got more tonnage to spare? Havent done the Ferror Armor yet, cant give advice, maybe i will try later since the reset coming soon... i will just spent. biggrin.gif

Have you tried it recently? Maybe it will change your mind? (a little at least? laugh.gif ) Me too prefer to have a full price game instead of free to play. But im still enjoy it so far. thumbup.gif

I think the "full release" of the game is hard to defined. You may need to wait forever. tongue.gif BTW, my own shadow still not moving according to my mech movement! doh.gif

Yes, i have played it recently and it is still pay to enjoy/win garbage. Just like Hawken or Planetside 2 to a certain extend.

I sincerely hope the free to play bubble burst soon. These kind of money grabbing games should not even exist in the first place.

Hawken is running on an Unreal 3 engine. It just not optimised.

Not like Mechwarrior Online is running any better. It is also as laggy as Hawken.
