ok a slight update on some experiments with DDs, not enough time to do decent and accurate test since im still spending time doing story and earning to gear up with lvl70 exotics (cheaper lulz)
tbh i feel abit weird, DDs are bloody good against melee mobs in PvE, but against ranged or caster mobs? ur practically kinda effed up in a sense...you can technically kite off melee dmg by running around the mob while lashing with lets say wind attunement or bleed stun them with earth and win it without getting dmged, but when it comes to ranged, they just hit you in every way and its basically a hit trade see who dies 1st situation which is retarded. ive got a theory to settle that problem thou, lets say earth attune 4th skill aoe knockdown. im thinking of getting 30 earth traits and some arcane traits(i heard it reduces cd) to try chain some attunement combos without having to wait for CDs too long overall i still feel staff feels more adaptable in battle compared to DD, DD is like all burst dmg feel and you dont rly have the supportish role with it, like we went to AC story mode and this random DD ele cant even do shit for us and kept dying. Which is rly depressing to see. |

Still using staff... kinda adapted to it lazy want to switch lol...
But what I gonna do to day is to reset my trait to become 30 earth + 30 or 20 water + 10 or 20 arcane. Which is basically condition damage build rather than brute force version, since yesterday I crafted the mystic staff which focus in earth and water based stats, might as well I follow that in trait and try something new. So far so good, although 75+ mobs still pack some punches, but not really uber hard still, unless get swarmed... Those auto cast-shield are big help really, 50% health earth armor, 25% health arcane shield. And also put on 75% gain fury aura (crit for next 5 attack), even if not a crit/damage build can benefits from that, as there are also trait skills and sigil/rune that give condition damage such as burn/bleed upon crit. |

Mist Form is a must, helps alot to reduce dmg and escape/travel thru Orr |

QUOTE(M1X @ Sep 11 2012, 09:53 AM) Still using staff... kinda adapted to it lazy want to switch lol... hmm im not sure how you feel about scepter and focus build. but i still kinda feels that Staff are the most efficient and adaptable within the non forced trinity concept. But what I gonna do to day is to reset my trait to become 30 earth + 30 or 20 water + 10 or 20 arcane. DD has no support skills which already failed that concept, and since we dont have weapon switching, its technically a short ranged glass cannon build(fixed). Focus Scepter is kinda like a sub par defensive/offensive build(will experiment and post here when i have time). Staff is the only one that can utilize all 4 traits and adapt in battle, fire for glass cannon, water for support, wind for kite and earth for defense. |

hmm...its hard to say if his supportive role is gonna be efficient in open random sPvP lol, its more of a Tournament build tbh, with everyone knowing what their roles are, as he said, the differences between conditional and power build is huge, i personally prefer power build, its more adaptable in open sPvP. not everyone wants to take down enemy treb in Khylo, sometimes i even have to solo it, conditional removal is almost immaterial at times, against shit like rangers and theifs, their basic burst dmg is enough to rape you even after you remove the conditions, i have to agree on his terms with Mist and Earth shield, i should try the earth shield 50% sometime. but for now im setting the utilities for the crit and mvment passive, mist, and Fiery GS to take down Guild Lords.
Added on September 11, 2012, 10:31 amits abit odd thou, he have this swap weapon sigil in his staff when we cant swap in battle, assuming he pre swap before entering battle, how long does his 50% buffs last? This post has been edited by The Amateur Working Bee: Sep 11 2012, 10:31 AM |

QUOTE(myriel @ Sep 12 2012, 11:17 AM) Really? I can't remember the rune names, lemmie go home and check after work. I got this info from gw2guru by the way. And do note there's an internal cool down for the runes after you change attunements. About 10 seconds or so. |

aahh. his spec similar to mine.
but i spec'ed 10earth and use elemental shielding instead (grants protection 3secs when you cast auras). i'm still dilemma to drop 10fire or 10air... keep re-spec till pk.. zzZ |
