i dont think it demotivates PvE players (since that entire post imho got nothing to do about PvE) its more of a comparison of strength in terms of PvP.

As one of the comments has said, Anet is still balancing and adding new builds, so its not a final say yet on whats good and whats not. Its just that making mistakes as an ele is punishing and unforgiving compared to the rest of the charc.

in short, a slight higher learnin curve n difficulty, players that cant handle it should just roll another charc that suits them or wait till it gets balanced, not blaming the class when some players are already adept at it

Here you go...

1. Never watch another profession kill anything, as it will only make you aware about how bad your damage actually is.

2. Never roll another profession or play around with one in heart of the mists, because you will realize obscure builds like rifle warrior or dual pistol thief actually out damage you with more range.

3. If you lose 1v1 to the above said obscure specs, It was because of a glitch in the system allowing them to out damage you, they didn't actually beat you.

4. Always assume you are the most versatile class in the game because you have 20 spells. Never believe that 4 of those are auto attacks, most of your other 16 skills aren't good and never believe your versatility is tied to your weapon which cannot be swapped to switch roles in combat actually turning out to have the least versatility of all profs.

5. If you notice your already obscenely low hp pool dropping fast in PvP try and close your eyes, so you aren't sure how many people were actually on you. The 1v1 with that really noob mesmer may have turned into 15v1 which is why you died. Your class is great, but not 15v1 great.

6. Only listen to the people on the forums who tell you how they can aoe down 10 mobs while tanking and drinking a beer at the same time. You are the strongest magical wizard in the game.

7. Combo fields are awesome and that is why your team is winning, and it's the only reason. Giving that ranger a burning arrow won you the fight.

8. Avoid watching videos of other profs on youtube. Ele burst is the best because it is the only damage you know, and it should stay that way.

9. Politely ask the other team to not walk out of your spells while crippled, ele burst is the most reliable burst in the game.

10. Avoid playing decent level sPvP, your profession is way above sPvP.

that rock armor(i forgot the name) is actually very good too, assuming if you are targetted instead of elemental, that lowers like 50% of every dmg iirc, i use that alot to def objectives or stall invaders

Yea I put 10 points into Earth trait, and select auto cast that rock armor on HP down to 50%.

Yeah I think Elementalist is alright.

I've got practically 0 knowledge on sPvP and PvP builds. Just went in there with default traits (doesn't seem to be ideal) and default signets, tried all weapon combos and I can still top the scores laugh.gif

But you gotta get used to dying biggrin.gif

Is newbie allowed here? Lvl 14 ele huhu D: Nearly finish queensdale and advance to keesax hill

I get used to dying already. Everytime 2 mobs or more came and gang me and my hp is low i was like oh sh!t run!! At last still die also since they run faster than me tongue.gif

Anyway, i have no idea on what to buy with my skill points/traits. Have no idea what build should i choose because im tootally bad in this.

1 mob can tank abit as ele, 2 mobs, use some condition skills...still possible, 3 mobs, you will need some summoned elementals to help you around, 4 not so dangerous mobs...still can kite, 4 dangerous mobs...better run, especially those with aoe / condition damage inflicted...lul
