Have anyone compared melee Thief vs melee Warrior GS for PVE ?

In your opinion who is best at:
1. surviving a veteran/champion
2. fastest @ killing the veteran/champion

in terms of killing i will go of with warrior as warrior is quite stable
have hp / damaged
i can kill normal veteran solo with using gs critz build but champion is a bit hard la lolx

My experiment with warrior is .. i can dashed to the veteran and use GS 2nd skill ..

But thief have to kite and then combo finish with dagger...

Then at higher levels.. will thief be able to finish things off faster ?


Btw .. anyone got a good guide how to use Warrior Greatsword 3rd skill properly ???

I always spin off my mobs and have a hard time turning the camera around the enemy.. haha

I cant decide which weapon is best.

At first I thought, Sword + Axe is nice. Then Mace + Shield is nice too. Then use Greatsword...whoa. Now use 2H-Hammer...the awesome!

Still low level tho...so things might change later.

depend on how ur build want double axe + gs is a great combo in doing aoe damaged
and as pvp or WvW melee weapon is useless though either use bow or riffle
as u wont be able to melee anyone lolx

I watched a video on youtube.. for sPVP .. one GS(2) skill can finished off a light armor enemy.

yes but must disable the light armor victim first and make sure the victim is alone.
throw bolas to stop movement then proceed to cut into pieces with hundred blades.

going for a tanky DPS warrior axe+sword....

anyone knows whats stats and stats traits built for WvW rifle warrior? i want to do bleed bleed bleed lah..hehe

lol.. im tanking in CoF like a bawse..

U should try using mouse right click assuming you turn your view with WASD

I've been a dmg-focused warrior using GS

All armors and and weapons even trinkets are +Precision +Power +Crit Dmg

Capable of dishing out some good dmg and able to take up a lots of Orr mobs as I could kite a lot of them and take all out at once simply using hundred blades

But when it comes to dungeon, if someone is there to take the role of tanking then I'd be able to do some good dmg. Otherwise I'll be targeted by mobs as I am doing the most dmg and taken down by mobs in a few secs.

Currently not sure if it is a good idea to have a DPS build warrior or not

Only manage to have 19k+ hp

Anyway my item is like :

Berserker's Draconic Armor (still deciding on the runes)

Berserker's Pearl Broadsword of Air + Berserkers Krait shooter of Fire

Explorer Mithril Trinkets

GS is good for PvE, open with 4, then immediately rush with 5, hit with 1 and aoe with 2, usually u will drop them.

4/5 is long cooldown, so your next mobs will be 1 and 2, enuf to drop them to 25%.

SKill 4 also can hit/cripple multiple opponent.

However.... outside of PvE.... GS DPS potential just dropped off a cliff. Mainly cause Skill 2 is stationary... impossible to hit anyone.

So I mainly use GS to chase/run. Skill 3 and 5 can be a life saver when u have a 10+ hungry players chasing your butt

critical build greatsword skill 2 is brutal in pvp if you surprise your victim and keep your victim immobilized long enough.

greatsword skill 5 only useful to escape if you turned off auto targeting.
same goes for long sword skill 2.


deng we all remembering the skills by their numbers now? no one remembers the name.

Just click anywhere to remove current target, i used to press ESC.. and ended up stopping in my tracks ( and dying horribly).

And yes... I cant remember the skill names ... I remember what the icons look liek though

oh no no no.
even if you remove current target, if the "auto target" is checked (it is enabled by default) your warrior will automatically find a target even if you are not targeting when you use

long sword skill 2
greatsword skill 5

i tested this with long sword skill 2 liao.

errr axe skill 3 even got auto target it will also throw axe in the direction your warrior is facing.
