so the tips here is to remove the price tag?
i did think the same to remove price tag lol
yeah definitely more than that!
*
What kind of shopping items are you looking at? Branded luxury items?
If it's for personal consumption, I doubt you'll have any issues la. I was told if gadgets then might have some issues.

QUOTE(cun10 @ Jul 21 2015, 02:45 PM)
may i ask if 20" of luggage bag can bring on board as hand carry?
*
Standard 20" luggage is usually cabin approved.
You can check with the respective airline that you are flying on for the allowed cabin luggage size. It differs for each airline but it's usually it's around 22" x 14" x 9" or 55cm x 35cm x 25cm.

thx for reply!
I'm flying with airasia, they direct me to the link and stated this dimension 56cm X 36cm X 23cm
so i think 20" is not a problem right?
if i had a small bag with an eco bag, also can be carry on board right?
*
Shouldn't be a problem. Measure your bag. As long as it's within the dimensions.

Try not to carry so many bags. One cabin luggage and one handbag/slingbag/laptop bag is no problem.

Depends where you are flying to.
If domestic then no problems.

from Airasia website it says the measurement of bag must not exceed  56cm x 36cm x 23cm. If i were to bring a 60liter backpack is it ok?
*
As long as it's within the allowed size and weight.
You can check the other thread on backpacks. https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1233513/+1040

Generally below 40L is okay. More than that, it depends.

Urgent question. Will be travelling this weekend via MAS. International flight.

My flight tix was booked by travel agency. However, they have omitted "binti" from my name (as per passport). Will this cause an issue?

I am getting conflicting answers from google search.

Cc: munkeyflo stimix mambangafro

Honestly, I'm not sure. If it's a left out "space" or front to back first name last name thing, then usually no problem.

Try calling MAS helpline and see if they can do anything about it. What did the travel agency say?

Btw, when you edit the post to tag ppl, it doesn't appear in the notification yea. sweat.gif

Not sure also.. but in my daughter case, her name as per ic having "-" in between middle & last name. However all her travel ticket omitting the dash...No problem so far
*
The "-" is not exactly in our passport. I had an issue when converting my Malaysian driving license to NZ driving license because my name in passport and name on Malaysian driving license was different because of the "-".

But other than that, no issues so far travelling. Sometimes my middle and last name are joined together also no problem. biggrin.gif

Got lots of lemons confiscated when coming back from overseas to KL. Please note that citrus fruits are no longer allowed in starting this year.

I have not travelled for a while. What is the rule regarding powerbanks? I hear many versions. Some say cannot bring into luggage, some say cannot check in.
*
AFAIK, if you hand carry it, it should be fine.

if you booked a return flight and miss the first flight, the return leg is automatically burn.

Is this only applicable for full fledged airline?
*
On my recent trip to Tawau via Airasia. I booked a return flight to Tawau much much earlier due to promotion, but later realized that I can't make such a long trip. So I booked another 1-way flight from KL-Tawau and plan to burn my earlier KL-Tawau ticket from the return flight.

During web check in, I checked in my return flight (Tawau-KL only) for my first booking.
And check in as usual for my second booking.

No issues whatsoever. But please check with your airline for more info.

Yes can. As long as each baggage is below 32kg and max total up is 20kg as per what you've bought.

Hi, I am about to fly back to KL. I have a question though. Can I bring a bottle wine back to Malaysia from Melbourne? If yes, should it be put in checked baggage or cabin baggage?
I remember I bought a bottle of alcohol at duty free shop of Melbourne airport previously, and that was okay.
I am not sure if I can carry the wine I bought in town (not airport) this time.
*
If you bought the bottle of wine in Melbourne (not from the Melbourne airport duty free), then pack it nicely and check it in. You cannot bring any liquid on board, other than those purchased from duty free. If you purchased it from duty free, it's a different story, just make sure to not open anything purchased from duty free.

QUOTE(peenwee @ Jan 20 2016, 11:40 PM)
Hi, i wanna know where can i get resealable plastic in KLIA2?  Can someone explain about the liquid restrictions in hand carry bag ?
*
Zip lock bag? Pretty much anywhere. Supermarkets, hardware DIY shops, Daiso, etc.
Most of the airports are not strict with needing a zip lock bag. As long as all your liquids are in 100ml or less bottles/tubes, it's fine. Just get a pouch to put all of it in so it'll be easier in case they need to check (and also easier and more organized for you when you travel).

For more info on LAG restrictions, please refer: http://www.malaysiaairports.com.my/?m=airp...nger_guide&id=1

domestic flight ?

There is no restriction on liquid for domestic flights.

Hi, guys. I read the airasia hand carry rule.

I have a small luggage, it can fit under the seat. It weighs 4kg.

I have a stretchable backpack, which is very light but I put my coat and my purse inside it. It is very light material, and not bulky. It does not even weigh 1 kg.

The problem is, can I bring this backpack?
How strict the KLIA is, and the KANSAI airasia officers?
*
No worries. There shouldn't be any issues with what you are carrying.
Usually 1 backpack/handbag and 1 hand carry luggage is perfectly fine.

Just came back from Japan, Kansai Airport. You are right.
1. you can carry even three bags if you want, but  must not weight more than 7kg all of them. (for all)
2. a luggage, a backpack, and a handbag are FINE in Malaysia and JAPAN. For Airasia
*
Welcome back! Hope you enjoyed your trip biggrin.gif

Yea, as long as they are not oversized and overweight, it's usually okay most of the time. A small backpack, handcarry luggage and a small handbag definitely no issues pretty much everywhere in the world.

can i take a romoss sense 6 20,000mAh powerbank on plane to australia?

going to melbourne by air asia this coming april

and also tiger air domestic flight from mel to adelaide

is the powerbank allowed to carry along?  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif
*
All powerbank allowed on hand carry only.

At some airports, it's stated that powerbanks over 32,000mah are not allowed on board the plane (checked in/hand carry).

For those who have powerbanks from 20,000mah to 32,000mah, a maximum of 2 pieces are allowed in your hand carry.

Talking about powerbanks, are we allowed to charge our phone on powerbank while flying?
*
I do this all the time. sweat.gif
Maybe during take off and landing they might say don't charge. I know for those flights with USB ports in front (like MAS), we can't charge or plug any cable in during take off and landing.

^ thank you.

After the immigration check at klia2 and if we buy drinks from McD, can we bring it pass the second security check?
*
Nope. Cannot. Finish all your liquid bought (unless it's sealed liquor) before 2nd security check.

After the 2nd security check only you can fill up your water bottles. I dunno why they don't sell water bottles after 2nd security check. Each gate has a water dispenser somewhere though. If packed then need to queue cause only 1 of the water dispenser can be used to fill even though there's 2 there (water pressure not enough).
