we all made bad decisions once in a while, I'd really prefer them call it something else instead of inherit the PureView.

For me, I'm not bothered about all the marketing gimmicks that all kinds of companies use. What matters the most is whether the features work accrording to their marketing material or not. As discerning consumers, we must always be aware of the use of grandiose tags and outrageous terms in the marketing of tech products.

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Sep 11 2012, 10:18 AM)
808 pureview is not even a dslr replacement. Its just first of its kind in mobile phone and For its class its about p&s range, lumia 920 is a downgrade of that average class.

Why dslr is better?
1. Manual control
2. Exchangeable lens
3. High shutter speed
4. wide open bokeh
5. Extreme optical zoom with the suitable lens
6. able to support many accessories
7. Support external mic

So how does 808 replace dslr when it can't even do half or better than dslr? 808 pureview is consider as a decent camera. First you must understand 41mp is mostly use for pixels oversampling replacing the lossless zoom when real camera uses optical zoom but 808 uses megapixels to crop the frame not about how many megapixels it have. Since you have It you can utilized it for capturing an image and later crop or zoom into it? Take it as a compensation to optical zoom that idea is very clever.

You have to define your own 'good picture', not everyone's definition of 'good picture' has the same scale. If you ask 'can it take decent picture?' yes sure it does, far better than most of the smart phones out there (edit: my OWN opinio) because of the OIS, I'm talking about taking picture under well-lit space, not low light.

from the OIS and floating lens it should capture clear image but whether sharp or not is another question. Like sifu said it will be decent when compare to all the other competition out there

Don't compare the 808 with lumia 920. Wait a little longer there will be a 808 replacement model.

If Nokia pick Android they would have launch 808 by now thanks to all the customizations (Which I glad they didn't). WP8 has it's limitations but we can't be sure at this point, I'm just guessing the limitation has its own setback so even if you slap a huge sensor into the phone, it probably wouldn't be that great without the software unless they decide to rely on apps (Nokia PureView) but that probably would defeat the purpose of the pv brand. shakehead.gif

Everything is pretty much "cloud" anyway, you can upload a file to a folder and the folder gets to share with 10 or more people, cloud service is the new thing yo.

But bluetooth does come in handy sometimes.

The changes for wp7.8

QUOTE
Nokia Conversations confirms the following for WP7.8 which will appear in current Lumia devices in phases.

A new Start screen look and feel, familiar from Windows Phone 8, giving you a whole new look the moment you unlock your phone
Ringtone maker app to selected markets to create a personal ringtone
Contact share app updated to support sharing over Bluetooth in addition to SMS and email
Bluetooth file transfer to send media files via Bluetooth from your Lumia device to any other phone

So i think it's safe to say bluetooth files transfer is allowed in wp8. Good.

No idea.

Reading about wp7 missing features is really scary. Hope wp8 will be a giant improvement from wp7.

So I was watching the Apple keynote. The iPhone5 really doesn't have anything THAT impressive. Or am I the only one who thinks that?

A6 chip sounds impressive. Camera has sapphire instead of glass. But other than that yeah, incremental upgrades and redesign.
