Some dog owners do try the kibbles... make sure its not to salty for the furkids. Dogs are not suitable taking too salty food & treats. Its bad for their skin and kidney.

My wife used to do that, but found out that little bugger got hooked on Ramly Burger Frankfurters (beef flavor!) and he will do anything for it.. the 2nd thing would be his toy, the squeaky balls.

Hey, i just recently brought a jack russell pup home.. and i actually has a 7 yr old maltese at home and is not very good with other dogs. Im actually worried will the JRT be too agressive for my maltese? cos my maltese is very calm and is not the active type and would not like to be disturbed by dogs.

Im a little confused and worried if my new jacky will be difficult to handle.. sad.gif

before that i was so worry of my Chiwawa, but after period of seeing, their winning potion is 50:50.

There is a need for proper introduction for the new puppy to enter the house. All this while ur chihuahua is king of the house, now suddenly comes another dog. Of course yur CHH feels threatened! What you can do now is try setting a hierarchy for the JRT, let em know he's/ she's the junior. Feed the CHH first, let the JRT eat later. For more proper introduction of dog to a house with existing dog, kindly google it up.

Really??? Am sure that someone that gave up a chance to have a jrt will surely regret ( well.. that is my point of view )
Actually, I was at one point of my life, I had to make a decision whether should I rehome Mil, bcoz my sinus had reached a quite serious stage and getting pressures from my parents... they kept saying Mil sheds a lot and that made my sinus worsen... it was a really tough time for me and I had prayed a lot... in time, I did get better and I dun have to go for a surgery( was to undergo one, if my condition worsen)Thank God!My sinus is getting better and my dear Mil, is still wif me...there is so much joy i have, when I have Mil around ( not to say Chels, not providing any joy)... but wat i wanna say is... both of them had brought so much meaning in my life... and to give up on any dog... especially a jrt... it is almost something like sending an angel away... perhaps our jrt fren should consider as... he/she will be missing out something great...

Just my thoughts...

yeap both the same sex.

Added on June 23, 2009, 2:08 pmI just brought the JRT to vet for checking yesterday. The doc says she seems fine. But then yesterday night and this morning her poop was watery. I heard that if puppy have watery poop means got something.. But she's still active and running around like crazy.. (hyperactive i must say) Is she alright? I just change her food.. which i think it might be cos she don't feel like eating it.

Also, may i ask is JRT really hard to train? The vet was saying to me.. this JRT can be the worlds horrible dog but can also be the best dog in the world if you take time to train it. Kinda worried me so because my maltese when she was a puppy she was kinda easy to train especially potty train.

Still in the midst of deciding whether to let go the JRT or not sad.gif

Hey, what I think u need is some encouragement from all of us. Training a dog is not easy and I admit there are times when I feel like giving up my JRT.. but what the heck, what is easy in life? I mean there are a lot of more challenging things coming ahead of us.. are we going to back off? If ur a working adult it might be hard to train d dog, but if ur a student its easier. JRT will learn very fast.. trust me.. our pup learn how to sit, roll and other cutie pie things in less than 2 weeks. All u got to know is what ur JRT is attracted to and use the thing to train em. The best is get ur JRT to get attracted to balls. Seriously JRTs can be destructive when they want ur attention. Like our JRT will pee outside the cage when he thinks that we neglect him.. or there's something that threatens him. Otherwise he's just a part time sportsman and a full time lazy bump! Anyway I hope u reconsider ur decision as only the one with patience will reap the great fruit of their labor. Since yr pup got watery poo, u got to check whether they deworm her or just bring d poo to show d vet. Sometimes when they are stress they will have watery poo (puppy only). Hope to hear from u soon .. good news pleasE! nod.gif

Hi Jenn,

Thanks for the advise. I'm still deciding though, whether or not i could get a good owner for her, but at the same time, im also trying to bond with her. She's such a love, but suddenly she has a habit of not eating much. The first day i bought her home she's like hungry monster and i guess its the pet shop that doesn't really them much. (i heard some pet shops does that so that the pups wont grow to fast) Anyway, i recently changed the food which she don't like.. but i was worried she wont eat at all so i buy the type of food that the pet shop fed her and she eats.. little by little la. This morning before i left work, i try and feed her.. (2 times a day) but she doesn't even wanna eat it.. she smell smell.. the walk away. IM not sure whether she wants to play or that she's not hungry. Her poops are almost back to normal. Thank God!

So is there a reason for a pup to eat lesser? im didnt really wanna starve her.. i know i can leave the food in her cage.. bt i didn wanna make it as a habit cos she'll create a havoc in the place or that she'll still consider to be choosy if i pampered her.

Anyway, i'm still in the midst of looking for a good owner for her.. maybe a better one than me.. but at the same time.. im also bonding with her..

Hi Funky Milo,

I know i shud bond more time with her.. And im actually trying to bond as much time with her as possible now. But am also in the midst of considering.

She's such a love. Yesterday i was trying to potty train her... and i scolded her and lock her in the bathroom where i want her to do her business.. After for some time i let her out and she was upset about me and didn't wanna come near me. Throwing temper *giggles* And then for the first time i on my tv while she's around she got afraid of the tv and was so curious about it. And for a while, she was actually staring at it as if she's watching television with me. Adorable and intelligent!

And recently i just got hold of how to handle the night attention cries that really bothers me cos i couldnt get enuff sleep for work. I let her stay awake for the whole night, even though i know she's a little sleepy.. bt i didn wanna let her sleep.. And when i go off to bed.. she sleeps the whole night through... That was great. But considering, i couldnt be able to be spending whole night with her like that because my working hours are very demanding.. sometimes at night i don't think i could come back and play much with her.

I do hope and pray that someone who are willing to sacrifice more than i do to take her.. cos she's really such a love and i really don't want her to turn into a nightmare dog. sad.gif
