Wow.. I've been away for quite some time.. anyway my dear friend, I hope u will reconsider getting a Rotti as this big dogs require training from puppy to enable them to be a good guard dog. As u know Rotti is very powerful and sometimes hard to control. Since u have 2 small dogs at home, I hope u do reconsider as Rotti can be quite aggresive towards small dogs unless u have adequate time to spend on training it.  biggrin.gif

i know, acually, i'm doing a research on Rotti at the moment...what i found up to now is the misconception of Rotti, a lot of ppl says Rotti is a very dangerous dog but from the articles that i read it all states otherwise. In fact, Rotti is good with children and very loyal and obident if being trained properly. Aggression of Rotti is most of the time result of mishandling and mistreatment from the owner. IF we show love to them, they wil give their life to us.

My two little devils can have a big bro.. if i do get the Rotti, i'll get it from pup....anyway, now do need to get the space up 1st...hehehehe

hey, will you be going to the MRDO this weekend?

Although bz with our hse renovation, v will still dig out time to come. Anyway, Shadow is behaving badly recently, during and after my female labrador on heat. Until now, shadow wakes up at 4.30am in d morning to ask me play, if I ignore him, he will dig anything that is chewable and destroy it. Constant marking on d curtain n d sliding door. Maybe he is learning to be a man as I didnt neuter him.. so anybody got any good ideas to solve this annoying problem..  doh.gif
*
i encounter the same problem but without the 4.30am play during my CKC heat....my solution is to tired out Ty'rel..make him so tired that he don't have the enegry to play anymore...of coz in the process me too become very tired.....took him for a long long long jog around the park until he don't wanna go anymore.... rclxub.gif

the marking is very common..my boy mark around the park.....there's some specific area he usually mark like a specific tree and parking space or the cement near the park...no cure....he also mark the pen where my CKC was lockdown during the heat time.......what esle scolded my boy and wipe off the marking as usual lor....

Things will be better after your Lab finish her heating seasons.....but still constant teaching needed for your boy to understand that it's wrong to mark around the house.

hi folks, i've been away for a very long time.

all i can say is, with any dog irregardless of breed, should be trained properly. however, some breeds have a tendency to be overprotective due to its nature, so, u hv to be aware of that. :-)

yah yah...i know...u see....sometimes i ask my niece to step on my back for a back massage....my boy dont let her to do it as he think she's hurting me...so my furkid ends up chasing and barking my niece...

How to stop a JRT from eating his own poo? And how to stop a JRT from humping?
*
u can buy the a kind of spray from the pet shop...but my method is to scold at my boy last time when he trying to get in to the habit......and now...he won't do it.....

as for humming ~~~ well...u can't do much coz this is their basic instint to get laid.....the best way is to spay your fuerkid....

i got my boy at only RM 1300 ( before discount ) and i never regretted paying the $$$. worth every penny of it and i love my boy n girl ( RM 2400 before discount ) with all my heart....

last nite, they jumped up to the dinning table and finished the whole plate of fishes meant for dinner...very messy...when i found out their deeds....clean up everything give a good scolding to both of them..luckily my parents is out otherwise...chaos!

the funny part is that my boy stay in front of my room door till i come out...and found out wha happened...he knew he screwed up and staying outside my room praying for protec tion and asking me to clean up before my parents are back from pasar malam...

in the end? i told my parents i finished the whole plate of fishes...took the blame and eat the 'dead cat'

So cuteee, my JRT russell very naughty, we dont allow him to come in the house, when he come in my mum will take the newspaper wanna scare him, then he will stare at us, give us those innocent look, make us cannot hit him. very bad ~ but I loves him biggrin.gif
*
you better keep a close watch on your JRT, sooner or later your JRT will run off or dognap~~~ JRT needs constant supervison as it's very energetic...and known to be able to climb tree and able to jump up to 5 feet.

Just waana share my 2 cents, no matter is a shih tzu, silky or poodle, basic obedience training is very important so that when they grow up they know how to respect the owner. JRT's are terriers and  a little bit smarter than the other breeds, so most of the time they will challenge the owner and many give up because they feel that they are not up to the demanding lifestyle of the JRT's. I have 1 furry fella at home which demands a lot of attention from us, so no matter we are half dead after work, a walk in front our house playground and some basic obedience training is a must. The best thing is to be able to communicate with ur dog, we talk to our JRT all the time, dont even mind if our neighbours thought v r crazy.  tongue.gif
*
i agree...sometimes, my relatives thought that i crazy treating my furkids as human...but they just part of the family..now my mom and my dad is doing the same thing too...lol

QUOTE(Lil'Maine @ Nov 9 2008, 01:41 AM)
haih...today my JRT pup poop in my granpa's room and my grandpa stepped on it....my dad had to clean up the mess....too bad couldn't catch her in the act if not scold her 99...and she dug a hole in my garden....round 1 i scolded her n whack her ...round 2 my mom scolded her and push her head towards the hole and grounded her ( for like 30 mins) hehe...
1 question..how much it costs for vaccination?
*
beating or harsh punishment might not be the best way to teach your furkids. Your JRT might be too boring, too much energy or craving for attention. i take my both furkids for an eveing jog everyday and talk to them like they are talking to me all the time. that might work...
