Just bought a Dell S2440L.
Colours are vibrant, response is ok for gaming, glossy surface makes everything pop out.
It's just a little bright sometimes but will adjust until I'm comfortable within these few days.

I THINK it's an IPS panel but don't know which type of IPS only.

It was placed next to an Asus VX239H but the glossy design just captures me. Still loving it smile.gif

in general, you can assume which series of Dell monitors categories as below:
1. E-Series (Business Entry Series)
2. S-Series (Consumer Series)
3. Professional Series (Business User Series)
4. UltraSharp Series (Dell Premium Highest End Series)

the pricing also roughly sort in order smile.gif

I'm not sure what's the selling price now, can't tell it's worth or not. if you asking the display good or not, it's always depend on end user requirements. nod.gif Yes, I used this model before.

you can use the search function here, this question asked many times before and answer is here. S2440L is not IPS panel, is VA panel. the most important is, you're happy with this monitor rclxms.gif

just to share the confirm spec again:
S2440L = VA panel
S2740L = IPS panel (but is not AH-IPS panel)

if you only want 16:10 panel, beside U2412M, can consider U2413. also in 16:10 ratio, improved model of U2412M, better color gamut, better panel.

latest model is U2414H, in 16:9. I don't think Dell gonna launch any more new 16:10 monitor.....

But the price U2412M between U2413 is huge right? Have to add another 1k+ for the latter.

U2413 has premium panel, factory calibrated and cover much better adobeRGB than u2412/4
technically u2413 is better for industry requires much color accuracy

I'm running single u2412m right now, in portrait. My old 21.5' died recently. Now, not sure want to replace with u2412m or u2414h.

if already narrow down to these 2 models. I voted for U2414H.

No, only power, usb, vga & dvi cables for U2312HM.
Starting from those newer model with legacy vga & dvi ports removed, then displayport cable are included.
