Let's not beat around the bush. The Galaxy Nexus is definitely the best Android phone available today -- it's possibly even the best phone available today, period. Sure, it's not perfect -- we're disappointed that the camera doesn't deliver the same wow factor as the rest of the handset. It's an alright shooter, but it's just no match for the state-of-the-art. There's also room for improvement in terms of build and materials quality. Still, there's no denying the satisfying look and feel, the stunning display, the impressive performance, the excellent battery life -- the whole is far greater than the sum of its parts. The Galaxy Nexus is the best Android phone ever made. It's one of the best smartphones ever made, and with a couple of minor tweaks (particularly to the camera), it could be the best smartphone ever produced.
Still, there's really not much to knock here. The hardware is elegant and smartly designed. The software is beautiful and useful. Google has cleaned up a lot of the bad, and replaced it with a serious amount of good. It's faster, smarter, and a lot more friendly than any of its predecessors. Ice Cream Sandwich easily gives iOS and Windows Phone a run for their money, and in many ways, it's a superior operating system than either of them. If there's a bone to pick, perhaps it's with the size, which could be off-putting to some, or the fact that right now the only carrier you can definitely get the phone on in the US will be Verizon. But those are minor blips on the radar, not show stoppers.
Since day one, I've been waiting for an Android device that lived up to the promise of such a powerful OS. I think I can stop waiting now. Full review here.

The Galaxy Nexus is so important again because it's the only time Google gets to dictate everything - the hardware, the software, and update timing. There's also the element of freedom, with unlockable hardware out of the box. I find myself wishing that Google had begun its adventure sticking it to the carriers with pentaband WCDMA support like this phone finally has, as that would've been much more successful than the practice of releasing a few different Nexus variants with different bands.
As far as Ice Cream Sandwich is concerned, it really is Android perfected. Everything is smoother, faster and nearly all of our issues with the OS have been addressed. ICS brings Android into 2012 and gives Google a great platform to begin to introduce new features going forward. Android is now very close to UI performance parity with iOS, which eliminates a major tradeoff you had to make in the past. If you were hoping for ICS to be iOS with a Google logo on it, you'll be sorely disappointed. However if you're a fan of Android and just wished it were smoother and more polished, Ice Cream Sandwich is what you've been waiting for. Full review here.

Make no mistake, this is the best Android phone around today. It’s impossible to divorce Samsung’s hardware from the Ice Cream Sandwich experience, for the moment at least. That may change as more manufactures offer Android 4.0 phones, but for now it’s tough to think of going back to a Gingerbread or earlier device. ICS’ finessed software works beautifully with Samsung’s hardware and – with the exception of the camera, perhaps, which can be a minor blot on the Galaxy Nexus’ score sheet – the sum of the two parts is massively compelling. While there were some hardware complaints, and even though Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich isn’t the most intuitive or user friendly operating system, it’s absolutely one of the most powerful. Android 4.0 is coupled with the best smartphone Samsung has ever produced and easily leapfrogs any other competitor’s device.
Unfortunately in the Android world, this hardly lasts a long time, and as we have started to see in various leaks, there’s going to be some serious competition for the best Android smartphone in the world over the next few months. For now, though, this marriage of hardware and software, under Google and Samsung’s direction, is an absolute winner. Full review here.

Personally, I’ve already been taken in by the Galaxy Nexus’s charms, and have been thoroughly spoiled in the process. It’s the most impressive smartphone I’ve ever used, and after just a few days, older versions of Android already feel ... well, old. Many other phones will get a taste of Android 4.0 in early 2012, but make no mistake, the Galaxy Nexus is the device that ICS was meant to be used on. The sheer speed of the hardware and software, combined with the slickness and beauty of the new stock Android UI makes the device a joy to use. Full review here.

The Galaxy Nexus is the best Android device ever because it’s the best all-round Android phone. Not only is the design almost flawless but the screen is sharp, the camera capable and the software a huge leap forward. Considering it will have a software lead of at least three to four months on any new device being released with ICS, for many people it is reason enough to upgrade. Ice Cream Sandwich is the biggest leap in smartphone operating systems since perhaps iOS 2 to iOS 3 (or maybe iOS 4 to iOS 5, we can’t decide) but it fundamentally alters the way Android users interact with their phones. Beyond those gimmicks that don’t work as well in the real world as they do on television commercials, Ice Cream Sandwich’s main claim to fame is that it’s a more-polished version of Android — it’s easier to use and more aesthetically pleasing than any of its predecessors. Bravo, Google — I’m looking forward to further refinements of Android, and if this leap forward is any indication, the world’s most popular smartphone operating system has even brighter days ahead.
Couple that with this gorgeous and subtly curved handset, and you have yourself a winner. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is by far the best Android phone I’ve seen yet. Full review here.

In a nutshell, the Galaxy Nexus is the best phone I've ever touched before. This is easy to say for a couple of reasons. Up until the Galaxy Nexus, my hands-down favorite phone was the Galaxy S II (specifically the Sprint and international versions) and the Galaxy Nexus is rather similar when it comes to in-hand feel and build quality. That said, the Galaxy Nexus goes above and beyond with a modern and sexy design that makes you feel like you're holding the future in your hand. Full review here.

Based on the above definitions you wouldn’t think that Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus (SGN) is actually a culmination of anything good, particularly in the way of an Android phone. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the most exciting Android device I’ve had an opportunity to review. Not only does it feature an exceptional design by Samsung and an impressive list of specs, but it’s also the first device to utilize the newest version of Google’s mobile OS, Android 4.0.
It is, without a doubt, the best Android smartphone of the year.

If you're contemplating on buying AP set, jpaq has some advice for you to consider.
QUOTE(jpaq @ Mar 14 2012, 04:38 PM)
It's all a matter of luck, bro. Many people who have bought an AP unit has had no problems whatsoever. However, there are some who have experienced faulty units before as well. To be clear, I myself rather not buy an AP unit.
But do ask the seller about his one-to-one exchange policy. If he says if there is any problem within 7 days, and a one-to-one exchange is allowed within that period, then it is pretty fair for an AP unit. But then, ask him further, if the 2nd unit is also found to be faulty, then what would be his policy. Then consider what he tells you. If you find it acceptable, go ahead and buy it and have fun. Oh, and do get the name of the guy who attends to you, for future reference.
However, do be meticulous with your checking of the unit. When at the shop, check as many things on the phone as you can, at the bare minimum, check for any scratches, dents, cracks and chips. Check for any colour peeling or dis-colouration of every physical part of the phone that you can see, including the logos. Also check the battery cover for any breakage in the clips. Another phone shop seller once told me that he got in a unit from his supplier where one or more of the battery cover clip(s) was/were broken.
Do switch the phone on and inspect with your naked eye for any abnormality in the display. Also see whether the display responds ok with your touches. Then slip in your SIM card and make a few calls. Check for any abnormality in the sound coming out from the earpiece. I have had an earpiece problem before. Not common, but it happened to me. Then ask whomever you are calling whether you sound clear to them or not. Then ask that person to call you back to check again.
After all that, when you get home, do play the heck out of your phone. Go google for apps which let your check for any defects in the display, like dead pixels, etc. Plug in a set of earphones (your fav or the in-box ones) and test. Play some songs through the earphones as well as through the speaker. Listen for any crackling sounds or other abnormality. Make calls, send SMSes, emails, etc. Plug it into your computer to see whether everything is working as it should be. Use the phone fully and even stress the phone if you can (but I don't mean physically!!!).
If everything works out ok, great! If not, go back immediately to the seller. Be firm (but not rude) with the seller when conveying to him your problem(s). If he had promised a one-to-one exchange earlier and you are within the time given, insist on that. I have to add that many sellers would rather not have to do a one-to-one exchange if they can help it. It means that they would have one less phone to sell. But insist on it if he has given you his word. And if he tells you that there is currently no stock to exchange for you at the moment, insist that a new unit should be given to you no longer than in 2 weeks time. Otherwise, ask for your hard earned money back and get the phone from somewhere else.
Honestly, I have not dealt with this directd ever before. From the forums, some say he is ok but could be perceived as a little stuck up. Ignore all this when your are dealing with him. Just be professional and expect professionalism from him as well. Keep it strictly business.
All the best.

5MP S5K4E1G is the camera sensor that is used in the Galaxy Nexus
QUOTE
The S5K4E1G is a highly integrated QSXGA camera chip which includes CMOS image sensor (CIS) and CCP2- compliant image data interface. It is fabricated by SAMSUNG 90nm CMOS image sensor process developed for imaging application to realize high-efficiency and low-power photo sensor. The sensor consists of 2608 x 1960 effective pixels which meet with 1/4 inch optical format. The CIS has on-chip 12-bit ADC arrays to digitize the pixel output and also on-chip Correlated Double Sampling (CDS) to reduce Fixed Pattern Noise (FPN) drastically. The image data interface performs data formatting, image compression, Image scaling and serial transmission using Sub-LVDS. The host controller is able to access and control this device via CCI bus. The S5K4E1G is suitable for low power camera module with 2.8V/1.8V power supply.
QUOTE
I get the feeling I could repeat this a hundred times and people wouldn't listen, but here goes:
The number of megapixels on your camera phone does not matter.
Please, read that again. And again.
The limiting factor in your camera phone is the physical size of the sensor and the lens. You aren't going to resolve much good detail past 5 megapixels, AND you will start contributing heavily to noise by shrinking the photosites.
The new iPhone 4S camera is great, but it is not great because it is 8 megapixels. It is great because it's a high quality sensor and a nice lens. It is great in spite of it being 8 megapixels.
I have printed poster-size with a Nikon D2h. That was a 4 megapixels camera. Those were 4 very high quality megapixels with the right glass on the camera. Having more, lower quality pixels is not the right way to approach cameras. From binary vision at Android Forums
alternatively, if you seek to get better photo with the Galaxy Nexus, you could consider getting extended lens option from Photojojo

Insufficient storage space?

Why does this phone not include a Micro SD slot?
QUOTE
There are many reasons floating around, but the reason I’ve seen by at least a few Googlers is that if an app utilizes an SD card’s storage in some way (say, storing a user’s data) and then the user removes the card, that app has to be programmed to handle the card’s disappearance. It’s easier for developers to code apps that keep everything in the internal storage (e.g. the app’s folder in /data/data) than have to handle the presence/absence of external media.
Without an SD card, how can I flash ROMs, back up my data between wipes, etc?
QUOTE
The internal media storage space (for example, the ~13GB left over in the UK model) IS subject to being wiped when user data is wiped (since it is mounted as /data/media). However, custom recoveries have been made for other devices that skip wiping this directory, so once CWM or another recovery for the GN comes out with that feature, you won't need to back-up your media folder before wiping.

Its a SGX540, the same one in the Nexus S, but significantly higher clocked, running at 384mhz.
QUOTE
Iit's only the GPU that isn't as fast (the CPU is as fast as anything on the market right now, and faster than the iPhone). This will be the third fastest GPU on the market, behind the PowerVR SGX543 of the iPhone, and the Mali-400 of the Samsung Galaxy S2. For most tasks, of course, there will be tons of horsepower available for things like hardware acceleration of the OS, basic processing tasks, etc. These are not generally a challenge to most GPUs. The real question is, how will it handle games or apps like Google Earth or other 3D-intensive apps?
Think about this: when game developers release a game for the PC, do they optimize it so that it will only run on the brand new, top-of-the-line, $600 graphics card? Of course not. They wouldn't sell many copies, would they? Expect the same here. The PowerVR SGX540 of the Nexus is a potent GPU, one of the fastest on the market. Not being the fastest shouldn't be a concern. From Android Forums
Also, if you didn't notice already, games that are actually fun don't rely on polygon counts to sell the game, ie. cut the rope, plant vs zombie, coin drop, etc etc. If the iPhone 4 with SGX535, a lower end GPU than Nexus S, can have great game titles, I don't see how the G Nexus can't.
Food for thought, if the G Nexus can already play 95% of the games in the market (the other 5% being Tegra3 exclusives ), what significance does it make that the GPU scored lower in benchmarks?

Only had a brief listen on mine using some Yuin PK2s that I have.
I've come from an Xperia Arc, and before that I did have a SGS2 for a while.
I've not had enough time to make a definitive view but at this stage, the Nexus sounds more open than the Arc (which had a warm veil to the sound imo) and seems to be able to drive the Yuin's much better than the SGS2 - my ears will give up before I reach max volume this time around.
To my ears, at this stage, it offers a pretty well balanced sound - plenty of detail resolved without sounding overly harsh on the tracks I have tried. The mids certainly sound better than the previous 2 phones mentioned from my recollection.
Not had a play with any equaliser settings yet as I prefer listening without tweaking these in any way if possible.

1. Don't worry it blows the GS2 out the water. Highs are high, lows are low. Tested with .flac on same settings via power amp.

4. Gone are the days of the Bluetooth audio crackle via A2DP. It has very good quality via A2DP even compared to GS2 CM7.

Facebook won't sync with Nexus Devices because Google and Facebook had a little spat back when 2.3 was released. Google+ application settings on an Android phone will automatically upload new photos and videos to a Google+ album. There's no need to panic, though, as the photos and the album itself will remain private until you sign into Google+ and specify which images you want to share with select circles
To disable automatic upload from the Google+ Android app, select "Settings" within the "Menu" screen and uncheck "Instant Upload." Now you have control of which mobile photos make it to your private Google+ album.
The Instant Upload settings allows for further customization, including uploading all existing photos on your phone, uploading only when connected to a WiFi network (good for those with capped data plans), and uploading only when the phone is charging.
If you've ever had or used Picasa, there is a chance you've got an album there that Google is picking up and syncing.
Click on the "My Photos" tab, click on the offending album, click on the "actions" tab, and choose "delete album".
To delete the synced photos from Gallery
Go to Settings > Apps > All > Google +

Now when you go back to the gallery the instant upload and any photos linked in Picasa will be gone.
You should also disable the syncing before doing this if you don't want them to come back again.

Multitasking?

QUOTE(mark @ Mar 14 2012, 08:52 PM)
There seems to be a lot of confusion regarding running apps, multitasking, background tasks and such.
When you launch an Android app, the task is active/running. You use the app, play with the app, etc.
When you exit back to the home screen (or go to a different app), the app is stopped. This means that the app is frozen and will not run/take up battery/etc. It also means the Android OS can freely kill that task if the Android OS needs more memory for other things (i.e. you opened up a really heavy game, you haven't gone back to that app in a while, etc).
So how does multitasking work? How does your app check for email in the background? This is done by something called services. Services run in the background, you don't really see it anywhere on your screen. Even when you quit your app, it still has a service running in the background. It checks your mail even if you're not in the app, it checks for new messages when you're not in the app. If you're busy downloading something using your browser, and you go to a different app, your download still continues, because the browser is running it's own download service in the background.
An example to this would be WhatsApp. If you don't open the app, how does it check for new messages for you? It runs the WhatsApp background service to check for messages for you. You don't have to open the app to keep checking for new messages, it already runs by itself in the background. The Android OS takes care of what services to run, kill, etc automatically for you. That's why if you use a manual task killer (you shouldn't, btw), after a few minutes you'll notice the WhatsApp service running again.
This, of course, does not apply to ALL apps. It depends on whether the app developer has made such a feature available or not. Let's take Draw Something as another example. It doesn't have a background service, therefore it doesn't notify you if you have new drawings to guess.
tl;dr, to answer your question, you don't have to open viber/yahoo/gmail/gtalk to get notifications. The notification part of these apps are running in the background and are checking for new messages for you.
Also, regarding the ICS tasks button, all the tasks listed there are "frozen" apps... the apps themselves aren't running and aren't taking any CPU resources.
For better understanding, you can also read up on the Android Activity Lifecycle, but it's more technical and more for programmers: Android Activity Lifecycle

QUOTE
The primary goal of Face Unlock is to provide a measure of security if you accidentally leave your phone on, say, a bus or train. After all, its a 1.2Ghz dual core CPU running underneath, the heat has to dissipates somehow. Just make sure that its not something crazy like above 55C, anything below 50 should be fine. It is advisable to avoid using the phone when charging.
You can install battery monitoring app to monitor the temperature if you are worried about it.

Rubin is explaining what makes a “Nexus” phone, as opposed to any old Android phone. Basically, Google gets deeply involved in the design, working with the hardware maker and the chipmakers. Rubin notes there are over a million lines of code in Android.
“So much work goes into producing the UI and the changes that you make, and then typically what happens is that the OEM’s put their skins on it and put their own touch. Does it bother you that so much work goes into it and in the end, a lot of consumers don’t interact with the UI as you intended it?”
Well, it would bother me more if we didn’t have programs like the Nexus program. The idea behind the Nexus device is to do exactly that – to give consumers an option to use the baseline work that we do if they choose…the philosophy of Android, the idea that partners can customize Android if they want to, is really important to making Android successful. By Matias Duarte, User Experience Designer of Android
QUOTE
There are Android phones (Nexus). And there are Sense phones (HTC). And there are Philblur Motorola phones. And there are TouchWiz phones. And so on and so forth.
With the Nexus line, Google has its flagships, its models of how its operating system should work. The broader world of Android is more like MS-DOS—the original "weak OS." Every version of the software is retailored and rebranded by its manufacturer. Even some software has to be rewritten to conform to different machines and their varied specs. But what you get is accelerated development of hardware and broad interoperability between machines, which benefits both users and developers.
Why does this distinction matter?
If you're an Android user, you may simply have to accept that you didn't buy an Android device running Google software; you bought a device from Samsung, Motorola or Amazon running Samsung, Motorola or Amazon software. Unless you have a Nexus, Google's more or less invisible on your device. Finally, you're never going to be able to just pull a brand-new software update out of the cloud and stick it on your machine. Not unless you're up for a little hacking. From Arstechnica
QUOTE
There is on one specific reason why I want the Galaxy Nexus so bad. It's everything brought together in a single device, all of the gripes and disappointment in other, non-Nexus handsets that I've had over the past two years and the thought of using Android specifically how Google envisions it. Not everyone will agree, not will everyone understand. But we all have our reasons for the preferences we have, and a run-of-the-mill Android phone just doesn't cut it for me anymore. From PhoneDog
QUOTE
But that is the philosophy of Android, a philosophy that had eluded me until now. To Google, Android is an operating system. To companies like HTC, Samsung, and Motorola, Android is the building-blocks with which they will build their own unique devices.
Google makes Android phones. Apple makes iOS phones. HTC makes Sense phones. Samsung makes TouchWiz phones. Motorola makes MotoBlur phones.
For those of you who don't know, Nexus is essentially Google's iPhone. They have full control over the hardware and software, come out with a new Nexus every year or so, and update all recent-ish Nexus phones with the latest version of Android as soon as possible. By LifeHacker

Root
What is?

In this post, I’ll be talking about the rooting process of an Android device as far as my best knowledge allows me to. Regarding ‘root’ itself, please consult the many definitions around the internet. In short, it is a special permission granted to a user to perform low level operations on a system (like backing up your Angry Birds game data, or changing the boot animation). 'Rooting' is the process of obtaining the means to grant this permission.
Think of it like the Matrix: Jailbreaking is comparable to what Morpheus could do. He could bend the rules of the system to overcome certain restrictions, but was still bound to its rules. Rooting is what Neo could do. Not only could he bend the rules, he could completely break them.

What it is, is a full backup of partitions on your device's NAND flash (NAND stands for NOT AND, a type of electronic logic gate -- it's like the hard drive of your Android device) storage. Think of it as a snapshot of the current running system, and it can be used to restore that that point at any time. Both user data and system files are backed up, and it's a far cry from what we think of when talking about a traditional backup from other software.

those who dislike the micro lag when opening app drawer, this is the mod for you. After reading that thread, main cause for this seems to be that the home screen is killed to make space for other apps in memory, so there will be times where the home screen requires redraw. What this mod does is make the home screen the top priority in the memory process, so it doesn't get killed easily or not at all.

If you are having problem in applying wet SP, which is a must if you're looking for something that covers full front of the phone, here are some tips written by droid13579
Before you begin, cut your fingernails and wash your hands. This is to prevent nail damage to the skin and minimum the risk of bringing lint, dust and dirt.
Location to skin application: There are few locations are suitable for application: Steamy Bathroom (is a PLUS since steam is capable to trap dust) Bathroom Kitchen Bedroom Study Room/Guest Room
As long you switch off any air ventilation like fan, air conditioner. Lock your door and windows, your fine to proceed. Clean your area, to minimum the risk of bringing lint and dust.
After cleaning your area, prepare your own solution (if they don't provide you) try look for a shallow dish plate or spray bottle. Put 2 or 3 drops of mild soap and mix it with water, and you now have your own solution.
For mild soap, I suggest using baby shampoo like Johnson baby shampoo or any dish wash liquid.
Once your have your own solution, prepare your own version of squegee card if they don't provide you. Any credit card would be fine but make sure they have straight edges to prevent damage your skin during squegee.
Now you have those two main stuffs, time to bring out your paper towel or microfibre cloth. Personally, I prefer paper towel because it is easily available than microfibre cloth, or anti fog cloth is good to go.
Once you have those stuffs, bring out your skin and read their instructions. Some might give tips for application process.
Time for application, first wash your hands once again and clean them with your paper towel.
Before application, clean your device with your microfibre, anti-fog or paper towel to remove smudges and dust on your screen. TURN OFF YOUR DEVICE, REMOVE YOUR BATTERY, ENGAGE THE ON SWITCH!
For Spray Bottle method: Spray your non-adhesive skin for two pumps, then wet your fingers with your spray. Peel your Skin, immediately and give like 3 ~ 4 pumps on adhesive side.
Now place on your device screen, and align it with your fingers. Your skin should move freely for this time. After you have set your alignment, leave your device like 1~2 minutes.
After 1~2 minutes, prepare your credit card or squegee card. Start push your access liquid and air bubbles from middle to the left or middle to the right while try not to move your skin, DO NOT squegee the skin to hard or it will leave marks, or causing miss align.
Keep squeegee for like 5~8 minutes to remove all bubbles and use your paper towel/microfibre cloth to trap any water/liquid to prevent get into the device. After that, clean and damp the screen with paper towel/micro fibre cloth.
Now your skin should be like clean and zero bubbles, if they do have don't peel or being paranoiac. Look for a windy place and place your device there for 12/24 hours. Those streaks, micro-bubbles will dissipated during these period.
AND NOW YOUR SKIN SHOULD BE LOOK CLEAN AND BRAND NEW!
Shallow Plate "Dip" Method for Wet Screen Protector Application
When I said Shallow Plate to Dip your solution is not to immerse your skin to your solution. This might be tricky but if you do it properly it also gives a good look when it is done.
First, Prepare a shallow dish plate fill with water and add 2~3 drops of baby shampoo/ dish wash liquid mix with your finger and you have your own version of solution. Not to forget prepare your anti fog cloth/ micro fibre, paper towel and squeegee card/credit card.
**You may use warm water as an alternative.**
Now, wash your hands and clean your device to remove all those dirt, dust, lint and grease. Not to forget remove the battery, turn off the device.
Begin to dip the non adhesive side, a shallow dip is enough not immerse the skin. If it is too wet, shake vigorously to remove big water particles. Wet your fingertips by dip into your solution and peel it. Give shallow dip for non adhesive side and shake it.
**If you think shake vigorously still look wet for both sides, try wipe on one direction like butter on toast to remove excess water, liquid.**
Immediately, place your skin to your device and leave it for 1~2 minutes. Now your skin should move freely, and try align it in this time. Remember align it with your fingers gently by recognize it front facing cameras, proximal sensors and ambient sensors and front speakers.
After 1~2 minutes, start squeegee with your credit card from middle to left/right then up to down. Don't squeegee too hard or else you will damage the skin. Do this for 5~8 minutes.
**While Squeegee, try damp the excess solution and not to push the solution to cut outs**
After 5~8 minutes, wipe/damp the excess solution with paper towel/mircofibre/anti fog cloth. Your skin should look free bubbles. If you do saw a streaks, micro-bubbles. Don't be paranoiac and peel it, find a windy place at let it dry for 12/24 hours.
NOW YOUR SKIN SHOULD LOOK CLEAR LIKE IT WAS NO SCREEN PROTECTOR, TIME TO FOOL YOUR FRIENDS AND SAID I HAVE GONE NAKED WITH MY SCREEN

other than that new version is better, more polished setting and smoother
Actually, I don't mind it's only 1~2 seconds not 2~3 seconds delay as serious like you guys said. I don't get it, why you guys make it such a fuss.
Compare with 3.2 and 3.3, I like 3.3 it's more polished, much smoother, much organized and lots of customization include rename your custom carrier
Compare with stock faux kernel and trinity's. I go for faux now because it's smoother and snappier when going for low clocks. Take temple run as a test drive and you see the difference.
That's what I have found after test for like <24 hours

damn... I already downloaded everything preparing to flash.
Sure its better to not flash CNA3.3? The delay sounds significant to me
erm for me, yesterday night im in a total dark place, then press power button, u can see the screen already light up (not totally dark), then 1sec+ then lockscreen only came out

What about RasJellyBean? Most importantly is there an option to hide battery and time from the status bar with this rom?
Ras Jelly Bean is for end users who seek performance, but I don't really like it anymore because rascarlo is being a slope and slow compare with other devs. :/
Besides that, because rascarlo have trimed the ROM, you will facing app incompatibility issues. Which happens duing RasCream Sandwich era.
Still it's a good ROM which similar to STOCK, and is a good pair and optimized with trinity kernel only. (still can go for other kernels thou)
wohoo.. just got my nexus yesterday.. put on screen protector and otterbox commuter.. love it so much.. and with Vernon91's sig help, i manage to flash to yakju jelly bean.. i came from wp7 mango before.. then change to galaxy tab 7.7.. and to be frank, im quite dissapointed with my tab as it hangs n lag.. but with gnex, everything was so smooth.. with its price now, it is bang for bucks now.. haha.. selling like hot cakes..

i believed Google is testing Sony branded phone for their upcoming nexus device
I'm curious, otterbox commuter is it really thick :3
it does add quite a bulk to it.. but i feel so secure with the commuter on.. previously was using htc mozart with commuter, fall to tar road twice from standing height.. nothing happen to the phone at all..juz a tiny scratch on the polycarbonate case.. and nfc still works..
I saw one type of MHL adapter where there are one male micro USB plug to the phone micro USB port, one female hdmi for display and one female micro USB on the adapter itself for charging while you are displaying on TV.
so for that female micro USB, can it plug in the wireless keyboard?
those cases only prevent scratches on phone or will reduce the impact damage of the fall? if prevent impact damage, how effective is it?
i would say it will absorb the impact of the fall.. as my htc mozart doesnt have any impact from the fall at all.. and when the case is removed, it looks like a new phone..
Well, XDA folks complained alot about 3.3 so I think CNA is working on a hotfix/CNA3.4. Gonna wait till then since stability > functionality for me. (But I really want the CM Camera )
What are the bugs except lock screen wake delay? ?
like screen is waking when charging, apps not responding wehn pressed on go xda and you will read more

feat rich yes, stability wise, sorry i cant concurred with you ppl are complaining there you dun have to agree with me, keep using it as you see fit im just sharing that jellybro is a better fit for those who wanna shift from cna which i seriously think is buggy

nah...not gonna argue on that.......some ppl are not having those problem...
for the screen waking while charging u nid to go setting to disable the screen candy in display setting, it was enabled by default
and for custom roms and kernel, diff ppl have diff requirement they need....so yea
Someone here sold Xperia S for Nexus. Now this news... He sure regret 99 since Xperia S has a better camera.

No. That female micro USB can only be used as power supply to phone. I didn't own one but that's from what I read in the web.

4.0.1. You never receive any software update notification? Not necessary. As long as you unlocked bootloader with Galaxy Nexus toolkit, just choose the right option in Galaxy Nexus toolkit then you can straight flash the 4.1.1 Factory Image. You don't need to be on 4.0.4 to flash the factory image.

so far no rumors on the upcoming nexus phone....plus this year they have released nexus 7 tablet
if there is one u should heard them announcing around Oct or Nov I donno why u all complaining about CNA one of the best Rom for now besides its lockscreen delay for CNA 3.3
in terms of features and stability
You sure? I'm on AOKP Euroskank still. Now 0817. Basically I find only ONE BUG... The grey signal. But is a rareeee case. Once in few days. Other than that, it's awesome. All the customization offered by CNA can almost all be found in AOKP besides: 1) Options in Developer Options where CNA offered a lot more options in there but I think normal user won't play with them... Something like Network Debugging 2) Profiles for Work/Silent etc. I find it not necessary too 3) Lockscreen customization. But CNA one do have some bug here. Delay, not responding etc. 4) CM9 camera. Not a big deal. One can just pull out the APK in CNA rom and install on other roms. Personally tested this. 5) 3G/2G toggle. AOKP ones only has 2G only toggle while CNA one can toggle between 3G+2G, 2G Only or 3G only. 6) ... still thinking
On the other hand... What in AOKP that I want but not in CNA 1) Toggles style. I don't mean it can change toggle style but the toggle type used in AOKP is more preferred by me. 2) Notification background wallpaper. I love this feature since the first time I use it. Sad that CNA can't let me do this. 3) Nav Bar customization. Can't find a way to change NavBar icon in CNA. Only can change what 'Function' or App but not icon. 4) Better Lockscreen Weather. Not as 'dull' as that of CNA. More eye-catching. 5) ... no more?
But I can pretty much say that Euroskank AOKP is pretty stable but if you're coming from other ROMs, if you experienced sudden reboot/shut down, please do a full wipe. I dirty flashed from Bigxie and then I experienced Self-reboot quite a number of times. Everything is fine after I did a full wipe. No more sudden reboot ever since.
All these ROMs are great ROM. Just personal preference.
Btw, I use EUROSKANK AOKP + TRINITY STABLE 35.

lockscreen delay is intermittent happen for me. sometime ok but sometime delay about 1~2 seconds. beside this, CNA is smooth, plus all additional features & it's best rom for me. no complaint for me. I trust and confident CNA sure manage to fix the lockscreen issue on next release since all previous version working perfectly.
think twice before flashing CNA 3.3.0, i experienced very slow lock/unlock screen delay, sometimes even no respond, and everything not as smooth as CNA 3.2.0, already flashed back to 3.2.0
Oic ,ya that is the only common bug that most have

screen wake during charging is setting ma
Yeah I read xda as well but those are collection of bugs from so many people and only certain people have certain bugs. I take those bugs reports with a grain of salt most of the time if not too many repeating cases.
That's why I ask why u say so buggy, but seems like so buggy is based on what you read and not what you experienced.
But its true also sometimes a ROM may work perfect for me while bugs the hell out of u haha Good thing is we have plenty of choices .
hmm, strange.. the widget name called news and widget? or genie widget? actually i cant find it on all jb rom i installed

what so good about swype? is it really that much better over stock keyboard? i dont nid those prediction dictionary
Tried it, don't like it. Maybe I'm too old to learn. After that used Smart Keyboard Pro. But now I find stock JB keyboard is even better... less options, but easier to type.
hi thr, im stil very new here, jz got my nexus last week.........im pretty confused wif wat u guys r talkin here
can sum1 briefly explain wat custom roms r available? wat is a custom kernel?
wat is aokp? wat is aosp.....
thnx
AOSP is the original Android developed by a group of developer and is sort of like linked with Google. Means something official. It's Android Open Source Project AOKP as in Android Open Kang Project (Just a random name I suspect), is a team of community based developers that take AOSP and add in more features. They make a base AOKP ROM and then other developers like Euroskank Team and other ROMs like BlackBean are based on AOKP.
That means... BlackBean (as example) is Based on AOKP, Based on AOSP.
Custom ROM is like the Windows of your PC while Custom Kernel is like the BIOS of your PC.
With Custom ROM, you maybe can have a special version of Windows with extra software or features. With Custom Kernel, you can overclock, undervolt, color tuning, GPU overclock etc. A bit like PC la. Overclock through BIOS
Anyway, to play Android, it's Numerous reading, endless reading. Always read read read then Flash flash flash. Or if you're advance enough, go ahead and develop some apps or ROM

1. Custom ROM is the firmware(Android OS) that has extra features and mod that has been added to it
2. Kernel is something like the core of the Android OS. Custom kernel is core of the OS that have been modify to provide even more battery life and feature (more to communication between hardware and software)

ic, so cn i use any custom kernel for a custom rom like lets say cyannogenmod 10?
n izzit hard to flash custom kernel?
The process of flashing is all the same as long as you have the Zip file and you Flashed CWM (clockworkmod) or TWRP recovery in your phone. It's just 1) Download the Zip file provided by the developers 2) Throw into your phone 3) Boot into recovery 4) Choose the zip file and flash.
Of course, flashing a custom rom takes longer. Custom kernel like trinity only takes me around 10seconds or less.

Just send it to be fixed. All GNex still less than one year. Confirm under warranty. I guess they'll end up giving you new camera module. Save the hassle of opening up the lens.
GG la you... The thing still wrapped in plastic. New tab I guess. So fast spoil. Nice iPad clone there with the home button.

China stuff easy bluff one. Coz their firmware always not stable. You say... "I would like to do a factory reset on the tablet but it ended up not booting up. I'm not sure what's wrong with the resetting process. Please do reply as soon as possible and give it a fix."
Best if you ask your aunty to call and ask. Woman don't know anything about this mah. Just bluff suddenly won't boot up or so.

Managed to flash to the official Jelly Bean thanks to the amount of information in this thread. Really helpful in unlocking the bootloader and stuff.
Anyways, any of you guys suffering from "image retention" on your Gnex? Been reading around and it seems that a lot of people have this issue. Wouldn't bother to send it back to Samsung or something if it seems to be affecting the majority of the device.
Did a comparison with an S3, couldn't really find this issue with the S3. Then again, it could be the theme of the TouchWiz hiding the "flaw".

So far still no image retention. I'm trying my best to prevent having a specific pattern on screen.

OK this sounds very stupid, how do I unroot my Yakjuxw nandroid? (Don't see this option in Toolkit) or would restoring stock recovery and relocking bootloader remove the root as well?

relocking bootlaoder will wipe la so yea, u can do that...
Impossible... Btw, Google never 'make' nexus phone. They 'partner' with manufacturers to 'make' nexus phone.
Haha, sorry my bad..XD but google's main purpose is software and they hardly make much money from hardware(ep nexus 7), it just makes me wonder if everyone gets stock android firmware first hand, it just defeats one of the reasons we got our nexus at first...=/
wish we have more variety of accessories to choose from.... seeing the items in amazon, the shipping fees is so dam expensive!! ><
what kind of screen protector u all prefer?? matte, no finger print, but the screen looks not nice... crystal clear, nicer screeb, but gets finger prints all over and smudge..... haiz......

plan to get a nexus too... can share what is the price now? also most important what we need to read??
I suspect that CNA 3.3.0 delay in lock screen wake is due to the governor. Try switching to on demand, that did solve the little delay that I had with interactive governor.

not working for me but I already have my own way. I'm using SetCPU, on screen off condition, from powersave switch to ondemand. lockscreen response back to normal now. still monitoring for few more days, in case intermittent issue.

yup.. i did.. not bad.. i would say the quality worth the price.. using the matte type.. so far so good.. fingerprint reduction is good as well.. it comes with camera sp to..

hey guys...i'm trying to see if i can change the nexus's screen gamma/colors to see if the screen can look better. however i'm still reading around...my bootloader's unlocked but if i need to change color i need trinity kernel.
but i don't understand one thing..can i just keep using my jellybean stock rom but overwrite the kernel with latest trinity kernel? all i need to do is just root the phone and flash in that kernel?
or do i need to find a rom that has built-in trinity kernel?
p/s : never rooted...so i need to be careful before i proceed

yes, once you flash trinity kernel, it's overwrite stock kernel. make sure you understand before take any action. read more, it's not that difficult.

u can use ur stock tom with any custom kernel...
just flash the kernel in CWM receovery.....
u might need root for the trinity kernel toolkit app..

but u nid to root to use trinity kernel toolkit app to adjust settings to the kernel
what?? that means i have to buy the toolkit just to change my color? i actually thought there's gonna be some new menu options in my jellybean to set the colors...

huh? there is no way u can set those setting in a very nice menu option except using app.....
Stock rom nvr build in any setting page to do kernel tweaking in the 1st place
U need to use the app or u can edit the setting manually in the kernel file which is inconvenience for normal kernel user
but i rmb there is an app(free) which u can tweak basic kernel setting for diff custom kernel

I updated my rom from cna 3.2 to 3.3 an hour ago. I do not find any issue at all with the lockscreen delay as mentioned by some. Unlocking the lockscreen is immediate, absolutely zero delay I only wipe caches when updating the rom
very bad mood and the delay making me even more mad
don't get mad. at least my workaround tested OK after change governor, happy now!!! no need to change ROM or restore. Give a try. anyhow, hope next release fix it.

Yea if dirty flash. After I full wipe then updated few versions of aokp. Never encounter random reboot ever since. Btw, I flash every single version released

Then I found that... AOKP Supposed to have CM Modded Camera. Found the problem to be that Gapps and the ROM both has Gallery apk. Due to that, I can't get CM Camera as the default camera.
Then... Me, too 'Genius-ly', deleted the googlegallery.apk in my Team EOS 0802 Gapps. Then reflash.
Flash flash flash then caused FC when pressing Nav Bar in ROM Control

Not sure which game you referring to? Pretty much lagless for most game I've played so far
Battery life... Not the best in class. More to under average. But so far so good for me. But heavy user, don't get this. Home button works most of the time despite the game hang-ed. I mean the on-screen one. I GUESS they put the priority of those buttons above anything else. Shouldn't be affected by app.
If you're buying this for gaming... Forget about it unless you're not putting any media files inside your nexus. You got 13.33GB user accessible. Games like Asphalt, either 6 or 7, the external data stored on SD Card easily 1GB. Even blood and glory, when installed, around 300MB. The more I play, it updates and gets to 770MB. Games like Real Football or FIFA also easily takes 1GB data.
Then are you going to install GPS? What about Songs?
If you're a custom ROM flasher, you need another 1.7GB for Nandroid backup, 700~1GB for Titanium backup.
I'm more to music listening. Songs alone 5.8GB. Installed around 90 apps, and took many pictures with Nexus (around 500 since end of June, the time when I bought my Nexus). Now I'm left with 1GB. Means I used 12.3GB for...
5.8GB Music Files 200MB APKs (just in case I messed up the apps and need to reinstall when I'm offline) 800MB Titanium Backup 1.65GB Nandroid Backup 400MB Sygic 400MB Papago 1.08GB Pictures 150MB frequently used documents 1GB FREE
All these, without considering Installed Apps, already 10.48GB, take 1GB FREE into account means it's around 11.48GB. Remaining 2GB+ for installed apps.
Deleted all those Massive HD Games that easily takes up to 1GB space.

Galaxy S is also quite a widely supported device since its hardware is almost 100% like Nexus S. Did you have fun flashing your Galaxy S?
Anyway, have fun feeding your Galaxy Nexus with Custom ROM, Custom Kernel, MODs etc
I would say it'll be completely new experience for you, a level higher than that offered by Galaxy S But... Damn Samsung use same GPU for Galaxy S and Galaxy Nexus. Just clocked higher in Galaxy Nexus

nice, maybe need to try using adb push gui but my router speed 54mbps only
54Mbps/8 = ~7MB/s... Of course this is theoretical speed. Practical it would me much lower but I think enough for you to achieve 1MB/s. I usually get only 500~600KB/s. I think happens due to my laptop. Or not sure what settings I've done wrong.

if not mistaken our phone supports N. as it states 2.4ghz/5ghz protocol. if ur router can use 5ghz, and u dun use xp/vista, set it to 5ghz defult. 300mbps unlocked!

CNA3.3.1 confirmed fix the lockscreen delay. now back to snappy, voila. can't help, I don't have G router. if your notebook using N card, you can setup direct connection to phone without router. Our phone capable at least 72mbps. confirmed much better than MTP, no more pain for me in wireless file transfer.
72mbps is damm good. w8ing for some1 with 5ghz and 300mbps router to respond here~
u open the webpage for ur coorporate email then under settings choose forward to ur xxx@gmail.com then it will forward. then in gmail, u create a box for ur cooperate email and list incoming from that email into that box. only important emails reach my inbox, priority inbox not used
if u duno the email ask ur it. or when u join the company n they give u email sure got a form, that will state using what protocol and how to access. tats preeety much what u need wifi explorer using N router or A router good enuf. just max out ur b/g to max or auto. and packet latency 1ms and 2000 size. then it will be faster. increase the file transfer size and reduce waiting ms. if not mistaken our phone supports N. as it states 2.4ghz/5ghz protocol. if ur router can use 5ghz, and u dun use xp/vista, set it to 5ghz defult. 300mbps unlocked! 72mbps is damm good. w8ing for some1 with 5ghz and 300mbps router to respond here~

Why mine max out at 65mbps. Transfer from laptop-nexus max out at 800kb/s

300mbps unlocked? No... 300mbps is already possible on 2.4GHz based on the newest Wireless N revision. 5GHz goes up to 450mbps.
The main thing of using 5GHz isn't about the speed but Bandwidth. 2.4GHz Band is crowded by usual WiFi. Almost every single wifi we can detect now runs on 2.4GHz. This means maybe 100 WiFi in your area, all squeeze into all the channels available at 2.4GHz Band. So when we goes to 5GHz, since less or even No ppl is using, there will be almost NO interference with other WiFi. This makes it very stable as there's less interference.
Btw... Maximum link speed I can see on my Nexus to my 300Mbps 2.4GHz router is 65Mbps. What's wrong here

Even most 'Draft-N' devices like my laptop already support 5GHz. Nothing special there.
I mean... Nothing special for a client-device to be 5GHz capable (laptop, phone etc). But it's special for an Access Point or Wireless router to be 5GHz capable. Not special but... RARE?
Anyway, unless someone is streaming loseless 1080p or very very very very very insanely high bitrate 1080p movie over the network... 300/450mbps is more than enough.

nah what i mean is set ur router N/A 5ghz, max speed, will still be better n faster than 2.4ghz cuz if less crowd, can speed on highway faster ma i tested 2.4 and 5 same 100 mbps, 2.4 speed is always lower.
must go in advance menu and set other things too i set becon interval 0.2ms, and packet size large, ap radius short, power max so becon can compensate the large sizes. then speed 300mbps and 5ghz and N draft so my pesky neighbours dun steal wifi, they only can see but i dun have my nexus that time..

ya, i know that...
not to say argue..
but u see ar many of the times , ROM manager is causing problems when u use them to root or flash roms...
so to be safe its better to flash manually in CWM recovery

Yea I know... That time I downloaded to try and then press install CWM. It then !@)($#*@!%@!)(%*!@)(-LY helped me flashed classic CWM on top of my CWM Touch. It then doesn't allow me to flash CWM Touch without donating. BUT all the functionalities won't work without flashing using ROM Manager itself. Stupid enough

Can we steal from the Easter Egg animation? I think is possible. Use full white background and then open up the easter egg animation. Then can easily mask out the white area in photoshop I think you should be pro in this. Good luck. I know it can be done but I never experimented how to mask out the thing

SMSC Problem. As vernon said. Search for keyword 'SMSC' in first page.

hmm... i wonder how it got into that error, before tat my sms was working fine/
It appears randomly. Mine also was working fine until one day when I'm urgent to SMS but unable to get it done. But before that, I don't know how to settle it with the current way. My friend just help me take a Nokia/Sony Ericsson phone and edit the SMS Centre Number in the SIM Card and put back to my phone. After that... We discussed and sort out the way of doing this SMSC thing. Therefore users like you rejoice because the guide is there ready for you to use But after setting it or sort of 'forcing' it, it won't reappear.

Wow!!! 7000mAh? That's the capacity of GNote 10.1 battery. Check the voltage isit 3.7V 7000mAh? If yes I think possible for you to convert it into battery bank just not quite safe as there's no control circuit to limit current and stabilize voltage.
Bigxie --> Euroskank AOKP 0801 up till 0816 --> CNA3.3 for 1 hour --> Back to Euroskank. Now on Euroskank AOKP 0820. Last few releases of AOKP has been quite stable. Maybe I didn't experience the so-called smoothness in CNA yet before I dump it I customized my AOKP too much until I don't want to leave it
Anyway... AOKP now can't change icon for Back button. Hope they fixes it soon. Happens because in JB, there'll be a 'Down' arrow when keypad is showing on screen. They putting that feature back but also overwrite the Icon I put as Back. So I'm back to stock Icons again since if 1 stock 2 custom looks not nice

Are you asking me to do something with the battery?
Stabilizing the voltage isn't hard. It's current limiting circuitry. Not sure what's the direct output current of the battery. If it's much higher than 1A then to make a low cost current limiting circuit will introduce power loss and generate heatttttt. But the socalled higher cost also not insanely expensive just that the circuitry is much complicated. Lazy to explore.

Just wondering... @springfall What's the screen size of the tablet? 7000mAh in China tab is RARE. Only few 10" China "more well known" models have it. I don't even bother look at those China Tabs with Random Name like your... what flytouch? Whatever
By the way, I just discovered that BootAnimation is stored in Frames! Not gif. It is like a series of frames and the system will play them sequentially. Each frame is an individual image file. Thought it was GIF.

Play Asphalt 7 on Galaxy Nexus didn't encounter any lag. Actually mobile games are more optimized in iOS. Hope those game developers will favour Android in the near future.

My brother just got his Nexus 7. Can play Mass Effect and Nova 3. For the latter, the graphic is ok but the audio seems to lag (delayed) abit. :S Anyway, that is a Tegra GPU.
I wana play the same games on the SGN if that is possible. Have you play any of these shooter games?

Dead trigger? Lagless.
Even Galaxy W can handle Nova 3. I think shouldn't be a big deal. Lazy to test it out.

I remember those days (hehe, like last year or so), Android is always playing catch up to iOS games. Games like 9mm, Nova, Mass Effect etc. are always to be released first for iOS, takes month to be 'ported' to Android.
These days, games are almost simultaneously released for both platforms. Like TDKR.
Sorry, another noob question. If I get an SGN now (AP/SME??), the stock ROM is JB or need to upgrade it ourselves from ICS?

There won't be any native JB even with yakju build AP sets. The yakju AP sets can be updated via OTA immediately.

AP, you "maybe" (means possibly yes, possibly no) getting a Yakju stock ROM where as SME, you confirm get YakjuXW build. Yakju build, just get your phone, connected to wifi, go to About Phone and choose System/Software Updates. After downloading 140MB (IINM) data then it will get updated to 4.1.1. Yakjuxw, endless wait. No guarantee when you'll get. Anyway, not a big deal. Just flash manually to Yakju. I believe you won't want to sacrifice SME warranty and choose to get an AP set. (Even though I'm using AP Set )
yakju? (eat banana in cantonese.. hahaha).. Sorry, just kidding
So if yakju AP set, can directly update to JB via OTA If SME, then need to flash to yakju first.

Hmm, ok ok . if I get an SME set and then flash it to get to JB, the warranty will be void anyway, Might as well try to get an AP set.

Yea... You got it right. Anyway, you can also choose to go Custom ROM directly. Of course I mean JellyBean custom ROM. I never regret ever since I tried. It's like drug (*disclaimer: I never try drug before*), once tried, get addicted, never stops. But this is... "Flashing" Addiction. I bought my phone for less than 2 months (5days to 2months). I already can't count how many times I flashed Zip Filessssssss on it. Everytime flash new version must flash 4 Zip files. I believe you'll fall in love with flashing custom rom too. Trial and error here and there. Mess it up, nandroid restore, titanium backup restore, all over again. Ruin ruin ruin then fix fix fix. So awesome

AP also might not be yakju. U go ask the seller... u ask them, "this is yakju or yakjuxw???" they probably ask u to go YAK JU LA! flash to jb doesnt really mean void la.... but ap set... u gonna void the warranty too eventually...

So awesome
Ya la bro. My brother was using S2 previously. Day in day out, flash flash flash. Names like MIUI and CM9 always pops up
I see it can be quite addictive, not to mention time consuming
Me, I prefer stock. Wana use the big screen to surf net, watch video and of course, gaming!!!
I'm getting to like this SGN community, very helpful and responsive. hehe. Hope to join the club soon
yakju? (eat banana in cantonese.. hahaha).. Sorry, just kidding
So if yakju AP set, can directly update to JB via OTA If SME, then need to flash to yakju first.
Added on August 21, 2012, 4:51 pm
Hmm, ok ok . if I get an SME set and then flash it to get to JB, the warranty will be void anyway, Might as well try to get an AP set.
QUOTE(fallout @ Aug 21 2012, 04:52 PM)
Some AP example Euro sets "may" have yakju, some AP from Japan that will have Japan local build, not yakju.
AP warranty not as good as SME, SME warranty won't care so much as long as the phone isn't "dead" when you claim it.
As said by fallout, better go for SME. Most ppl can claim warranty even with Custom ROM loaded. Some even said they send in JellyBean locked but came back ICS unlocked. (Lock/Unlock referring to bootloader). The price difference is minimal. Just around 150~200. I'd go for SME if I haven't get my set yet. I bought my AP for 1k 2 months back
Bought in at the right time. Price stabilize and even increase after that.
Anyway...
Buying AP set ONLY FOR TWO REASONS 1) You want a White Set (I don't fancy a white one though). SME doesn't bring in White set. They don't even bring in enough Black/Grey sets. 2) Save Rm150~200??
But you lose the official samsung warranty. AP Warranty you know I know la. If they detect anything wrong say you root or unlock bootloader later they condemn you say you caused the damage bla bla bla don't want fix. Or charge you to fix it.

Just Kidding Surf net, watch video not big deal. If gaming, you might want to look into custom kernel. Trinity kernel does provide three versions with GPU clocked at Stock (307MHz), 384MHz and 512MHz. Of course 384 and 512 consumes more power (512 not recommended. The performance increase doesn't judge the power consumption increase right) but nice for gaming.

Hmm ya la. The demand for SGN seems to be going up. After 8 months since it's launched, still so strong. Semua JB punya pasal
Flashing from YakjuXW to Yakju is easy?

All this OC-ing will kill the battery eh. Might consider to buy the extended battery one shot then

Din ask you OC CPU. That one I mentioned is OC GPU. Yea because more heat is generated but for gaming... You choose I didn't OC though. I normally play games like... Word Search. Don't need graphics pun

Is Samsung Galaxy Nexus still sell in samsung store now i cant it on samsung store in KLCC
If possible skip these retail stores and find sellers here in low yat itself. The retail store tend to stick with RRP. Sellers here in LYN is much cheaper. If dislike with online purchase or COD kind of transaction, no need to worry, some of them do have a real shop lot or kiosk.
coz already running out od stock....suddenly so many ppl wan to buy becoz of jelly bean
no regret switching from ip4 however, i have to admit, the screen on ip4 is looks nicer expecially when theres a colour gradiant... thers some feature in ip4 that i like is when selecting text in a sentence. it will pop up a magnifying glass.. i miss this feature...

Play Asphalt 7 on Galaxy Nexus didn't encounter any lag. Actually mobile games are more optimized in iOS. Hope those game developers will favour Android in the near future.
apple dev are developing apps for only 2 devices - iphone and ipad while android developer have to keep the compatibility across devices from all manufacturer and from ver 2.x until 4.0
plus most game for apple need to pay, while in android is free
Meh, so hard to find used Nexus even in the LYN forum, I thought Nexus is not that popular. No choice but have to go out and buy at the shop la, huhu.
true, i oso tried to get used nexus but all seems to sold out as soon as they r advertised on lowyat.net, i saw at least 10 ads selling 2nd hand nexus on lowyat.net n they all sold out within an hour ......n in the end i hav to get a new wan.......
dis phone is realy damn hot nw, the demand is very very high........last week when i bought my phone thr were another 3 more ppl b4 me buyin nexus n the shop sold out all its AP sets n left oni sme sets.....n im forced to buy sme set......
1.2k for a pjone wif dis specs is realy worth every cent u pay......duno why ppl stil buy galaxy s2 for the same price instead of nexus
u open the webpage for ur coorporate email then under settings choose forward to ur xxx@gmail.com then it will forward. then in gmail, u create a box for ur cooperate email and list incoming from that email into that box. only important emails reach my inbox, priority inbox not used
if u duno the email ask ur it. or when u join the company n they give u email sure got a form, that will state using what protocol and how to access. tats preeety much what u need
@Springfall, i manage to foward my corporate email to my gmail.. thanks alot.. another question, is it possible to use my corporate email to reply using my gmail? im not sure u all got me or not.. ><
Android apps 600,000+, iOS apps 650,000+, the gap is closing soon. I still remember how Steve Jobs bragged about "AppStore is the most vibrant app community on the planet" in the 2010 WWDC.
Galaxy Nexus out of the box is on yakjuxw Android 4.0.1.
The official ICS update release date. Source from Wikipedia. 4.0.1 was officially released by Google on October 19, 2011
4.0.2 was officially released by Google on November 28, 2011 -> not sure when Samsung release, but mine receive 4.0.2 update notification when out of the box on January 13, 2012.
4.0.3 was officially released by Google on December 16, 2012 -> until May 17, 2012 yakjuxw still running on 4.0.2, no sign of 4.0.3. That's like more than 5 months time already.
4.0.4 was officially released by Google on March 29, 2012 -> Not sure about the exact date when Samsung release coz I experienced enough of stock ROM and flashed my Galaxy Nexus to CM9 on May 17, 2012. Samsung maybe released somewhere around July, 2012. That's like more than 4 months time already.
4.1.1 was officially released by Google on July 9, 2012 -> Samsung yakjuxw users still

There are still people who need the SD card, and there are people who thinks the spec is not up to par besides the screen. Hence why people still go for S2.

True, probably Nexus device is much less advertised that the Samsung ones (eventhough Samsung manufactured the Nexus).
Btw, guys, what should I keep my eyes on if I want to buy the phone, heard that screen banding and dead pixels are common issues before this.
There are still people who need the SD card, and there are people who thinks the spec is not up to par besides the screen. Hence why people still go for S2.
yeah a LOT of ppl feel that s2 and nexus is not on par...

4.0.4 released end of June/Early July for Yakjuxw.
If I'm not wrong, 4.0.3 weren't released by Google. 4.0.3 are only released but stopped on Nexus S and used by manufacturers for their devices. Said to have bug so no OTA was pushed to nexus user. Not sure about AOSP. Most Galaxy Nexus went from 4.0.2 to 4.0.4 regardless of Yakju or Non-yakju
Why do you skip 4.1? 4.1 only 4.1.1 la

but the battery life of gnex just so so . ( since i can get 2.45 hr on screen time on nexus s.)
Don't forget that it's a dual core versus single core. And higher clocked GPU, almost 4 times the pixels to push to display. All this counts.

Yea... See some S3 variant get 2GB, GNote 10.1 with 2GB then you know la. KeyLimePie will run on Nexus S (I think so =P) but it won't run on S2. Believe me?
