Bros, Need a bit of advise here.

My air filter box one of the clip went missing and the vibration noise is very bad.

Any idea where can I get the replacement clip? Or die die must buy the whole air filter box
*
you can try to ask around in spare part shop, but i don't think you can get just the clip, so getting a air filter box assy is easier.

Hi all, I new here.

My Kenari 2003 has Engine oil leak out issue, now I need to replce the oil seal, is it need to replace the Engine mounting also?
What is the market price for the Engine Mounting?

Thank you.
*
do you know which part is leaking?
engine mounting depends whether your engine is shaky or vibrating or not. price range from rm300 to near a thousands.

the big one is headlight, low and high beam, H4. can be done easily.

the small one is fog light, switch right under steering, H3. need to remove the entire grill and bumper, then 4 bolt remove the whole light assy just to change the bulb. been there done that, damn stupid! cry.gif

tools needed, philips screw driver and 10mm spanner/ratchet socket/T handle with 10mm. i'll suggest T handle.

treat me yamcha i guide you on the spot la brows.gif

i'm driving an auto, 14" Myvi SE rim, complete exhaust changed, sound deadening for 2 front doors, 12" woofer x1, UR bar x3...... basically all this contribute to FC due to weight, except for exhaust for performance.

full tank is running 300km+/- for city drive, fully throttle and high rev most of the time. 350km+/- for highway drive as i cruise at 130~140km/h. rm0.17~rm0.25 per km at currently rm1.9

What engine oil are you running on? Different engine oil grade too do makes a difference in FC...

Runs on Liqui Moly 10w30. My fuel consumption is bcz of my hard drive. Last two week before I got my brake replace, I drove quite gentle bcz car can't really stop when high speed and responsive, guess what, fuel consumption got better, lol!

QUOTE(OKLY @ Aug 25 2013, 06:29 PM)
Does the AeroSport variant comes with a cabin air filter originally? I can't seem to find any place that can be opened to slot in a filter.
*
Nope, all Kenari don't come with cabin filter. Those in the market are retrofitted install.

yup i'm selling it. the oil can last up to 10,000km/6 month on a normal driving condition car. yes the mos2 10w30 is semi syn. but since i drive hard and stuck in traffic jam, i change it after 8,000km, there's normally 3~4 months time.

confirmed inside fuel tank? if yes then GG. i'm putting down my engine for major repair one two weeks later, thinking to change every possible things include fuel filter, i don't want to wait till something went wrong only i start to check or tow car.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

did you change alarm before? if yes, look at the door lock solenoid (door gun they called) and center locking module; if no, change original alarm to aftermarket + center locking module, then check door lock solenoid.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

changing oil seal will do, change head gasket unless you oepn up the engine head due to car had overheating before or you're doing a top overhaul.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

opt for branded double din if possible for dvd, or look for android based double-din.

rm1.2k for engine mounting i assume it's original Daihatsu? if not then don't worth the price at all!

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

spare part shop will have it smile.gif

why top overhaul? what absorber and tires you're looking forward?

erm, any new members name and detail i need to update? format: [lyn nickname][year of manufacture][color][trim if you know]

update on my car: dropping my engine for major engine repair before CNY, and also audio further upgrade biggrin.gif everything gonna cost me nearly rm1.5k, all done by myself...

the motor you mention is the door lock solenoid i mentioned earlier. rm35~45 with installation is fair price.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

better check with the spare part shop or workshop. oil seal itself is cheap, but labour to get it done much much more expensive then the oil seal.

what's your current mileage? when is the last timing belt change? it's near next timing belt change? if yes then monitor engine oil level more freq, wait till timing belt change then get everything done together so you don't need to pay double labour. again, if the leak very very bad, ignore what i mention sweat.gif

no idea on the price as i'm running on 14". got my 14" rm170+, conti cc5

why 65? better if you can keep on stock profile which is 60. if you're changing from 65 -> 60, sorry my bad tongue.gif

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

run thru that thread you opened smile.gif

3. gasket? which one they are referring? definitely not oil pan as it's stated at 2, i'm guessing it's the valve cover gasket? the one on top?

rims!
from your thread on f 'n' f, i would suggest you to change Myvi rim, any Myvi rim will do. i'm using it now with stock Kenari size, potholes, speed bumps, you name it... not too sure on Myvi LB, on both old Myvi SE, it's by Enkei. icon_idea.gif no no to Taiwan or China rim, it can't last. my car was involved with major accident early of 2013, cracks found on rim, 1.5" i would say? Taiwan or China mali, try to look around and see.

yes correct profile 55 to 60 will protect the rim, but seriously, not gonna help much when you get used to it and don't care anymore, same shit will gonna happen. and the worst case is there's not much of brand & model variety for profile 60.

i wouldn't suggest you to repair the rim, because this 14" rim is already infamous of dented, no point fixing it. 2ndly, tested on friend's original Works rim, get to know where the dented are, get it fixed, then putted a big X there for marking purpose. after a year, exacted same place got dented again, rim cannot be repaired! unless you want it for show purpose laugh.gif

but still, don't treat Myvi rims like god, it's just durable and cheap, 4 piece rm300~500 depend on condition and design.

air purifier, just unplug it will do. been there, done that! smile.gif

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

wow good to hear that, thanks! but next time then, i'm lazy. preventive maintenance (major repair) on engine and audio further upgrade during CNY sweat.gif

will update time to time on my birdie progress...
