Anyone can pls advise where can I do tuning for my vios? As i feel that my car fuel consumption is very high..
*
can you define your high fuel consumption? Is your car stock or modified in performance and exterior? How far can your car travel for one full tank? Car model?

also, I saw a few ways where you can save on fuel consumption, there's something called turbo air booster if I'm not mistaken, you can tune your CC without modifying anything, its a plug and play thing.. There's alsoanother thing that plugs into your car's smoking port and it somehow control and stabilize your car's voltage and current to make it better (I forgotten what is it called, its around automative garage section, and I have yet to try them personally, but they do have lots of feedbacks you can review)

mine is G Limited sport rim vo... never think to change leh.. anyway thanks for your poison ya~! hahaha~

g-limited brows.gif I love the front skirting, so cool brows.gif
15" inch toyota alloy rim, correct me if I'm wrong? I do believe when there's a dent on any hard metals, when you try to bend them back, it will be a lot more fragile compared to the original toughness.. As the atoms arrangement is forced to change its shape due to impact.. Sorry if I use any wrong terms, I had forgotten half of my knowledge on metals during college time tongue.gif

wow... the fluid is still flash vo.. i suspects your gearbox oil leaked, do you try press the "Release" when u suffer from the hard shifting? it may help u to shift smoothly...Normally, I will use it in the morning when the gearbox is still cool, may hard to shift from P to R..

However, you should send it to Toyota SC and mention it to the SA there....ask them check the gearbox fluid seal and other structure of the gearbox..

better don drive too far and send to SC fast before it getting serious. your safety should come first...
*
I have no idea what is that button for hmm.gif

QUOTE(hydroboy87 @ Mar 5 2013, 03:05 PM)
yeah i called them, will send the car tomorrow morning, luckily i noticed...will it be a major problem????? i hope they wont ask me to change the gear box!!!
no money liao..

but driving is smooth..no prob, no sound...just the fluid...
*
I don't think gear box will be affected.. the problem now does seems like the fluid for shifting gear is somehow leaked..

Hi all, I believe most of the Vios driver/owner here has change LEDs in the car like parking light, reverse light, fog lamp and so on.
So I have a question here, for people who had change the rear number plate light, if you wouldn't mind, do upload a picture of how bright it is at night, and name your bulb/LED type used. I'm looking for some very very bright ones for mine. brows.gif
Do intro if you found any type that is bright! The problem was that Vios rear number plate lights are 45 degrees downwards, normal bulb/LED/Cree couldn't shine directly at our number plate sad.gif

I'm currently using 5 SMD 5050 T10.

do u try the release button? for ur case, is that help when shifting between P and R?
*
I've just tried it out just now, now i know how it works brows.gif but a question, what is the main purpose of that button?

QUOTE(dares @ Mar 5 2013, 05:44 PM)
How can gearbox oil get inside the cabin? The gearbox is mounted next to the engine, and controlled by the gearstick via linkages or electronically. The gearbox is NOT under the gearstick.

That is not gearbox oil.
*
sorry I have zero knowledge on these, will take some time to understand engines when I'm free.. And I believe they are connected electrically.. What do you think they are?

My car year 2011 and already around 45000km and it is all stock. Fuel consumption RM60 less than 350km, around RM0.17/km. My last trip cost me RM0.18/km sob..

Mostly 30%highway 70% city/jam

I believe this is very high fuel consumption for a vios right?
*
yes it is, my car starting from 0km when i first bought can reach about 450km, can even last for 400km full tank with reckless driving, tekan kuat kuat all the time (I did that on purpose for once to see is my Vios really saves fuel)

QUOTE(Thunder_Bolt @ Mar 5 2013, 08:18 PM)
the rims' weight will affect the fuel consumption right?

if we are changing rims, not sure how to know the new rims that we choose is not too heavy or not too light compare to the toyota original rims. does the tyre shop have some kind of weight measurement tool to measure the weight of the rims?
*
yes, rims weight will affect too.. If you go very detail on the calculation, I don't know how to calculate tongue.gif
also, bigger rims = heavier it will be.. Smart consumers will straight away get the original TRD rims if they spot them in any rims shop..

GUESS WHAT???
went to to Toyota Sc this morning...sent my car....they said...there are no fluids or oil underneath the gear knob...
only cables!

so what was the fluid?
ForeMan said, must be some stain..drinks..... I was like....Huh??

Then i remembered my dad driving my car the other day....
asked him just now...he said...oh yeah..accidentally poured a bit of drinks.(sweet drinks)

so the sugar kinda dried up & got sticky...ended up messing with the gear shifting...
HAIYO......
moral of the story do not pass around drinks inside the car...especially to the driver... doh.gif

I LOL'ed SO HARD rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

*
I saw what my friend did and its brilliant.. brows.gif instead of using T10, why not put puddle light below that plastic?
he installed 3 pairs of puddle light behind the bonnet, his idea was; to on all the puddle lights when a car with HID more than 5000K behind him, blinds him with them brows.gif

*
Xtreme Vision is very close to white right? Roadblock might be stopped to kacau.. So far I'm satisfy with NB+, especially the HI-beam, act just like HID to blind front drivers rclxms.gif

I still find NB+ to be yellowish, not white at all.. and so far no, I normally drive with HID fog + parking light, when I see blocks from far I'll switch to low beam and off HID.. biggrin.gif

appointment to do my 2nd sevice, almost reaches 5k, getting my engine oil a change.

better use fully o semi, me mostly 100% city drive, juz sometime need outstation a while, 2hr drive more o less.

city kuching, manual J spec.

does fully really worth it? or semi can do a better job for the vios
engine
*
I'm not sure on which is best, but it is advised to take semi if your car's CC is less than 2.. that's what I heard from friends and colleagues.. Just my 2 cents
