Hi guys, I received my CM Storm Quickfire Rapid (Blue switch) 3 days ago, after 3 days of typing, I'm really disappointed with it.
Here's the problem I encountered, the "backspace" key has MUCH significant resistant force than other keys. So when I was typing and made any single error which required me to tape the backspace, I would feel the difference and it actually slows down my typing speed a lot because I can't quickly double/triple tap the backspace. I m just wondering does anybody here who own a quickfire rapid blue switch actually encounter this similar issue? I'm going to send it back to the seller for refund, and I think I do not like the tactile feedback. In this case, does it mean I'm more like a Red Switch person? Any suggestion for those who doesn't like blue switch? This post has been edited by FinFin: Oct 8 2012, 06:49 PM |

Any suggestion for those who doesn't like blue switch? So far I haven't encounter any problem with the Majestouch, no keys has any significant difference in term of force. But as for the CM Rapid, I found my backspace key very squeaky, but this problem is solved after I lube the stabilizers. |

QUOTE(dragorc @ Oct 8 2012, 04:35 PM) agree for the blue, its give better tactile feel compared wif brown which i found like there's a lot of sand inside the switch. Too bad im not some hardcore typist if not im sure will grabs one blue for collection..Atm i think red and brown best suite me ^^ . Still topres better muahahaha... Well I find blue switches can handle gaming just fine, no problem with (double/triple/quadruple) tapping for me QUOTE(FinFin @ Oct 8 2012, 07:16 PM) So do you find the quickfire rapid Red good for typing? Both are good in different ways in my opinion. MX Blue gives the tactile feel and satisfying audible feedbacks when typing, while MX Red gives a very smooth feel (cloud of boobs This post has been edited by zongeva: Oct 8 2012, 07:20 PM |

The extra force to press backspace is really too significant compared to others. If a normal blue switch quickfire does not have that issue, I think I'll ask for replacement instead of refund. p/s: do u guys realize the quickfire is slightly too "tall" (sits high)? I can't really rest my wrist on desk and type. This post has been edited by FinFin: Oct 8 2012, 07:45 PM |

You can buy a gel wrist rest (so I heard RM5/RM10 from Daiso?) to raise your wrists a little.Alright, I guess I'm just bad luck to receive that keyboard with backspace issue. Well, it'll be better if you RMA it. I just got my CM Storm QRF blues today, and it feels great, I tried tapping(if you know what I mean) backspace and compare it with other keys, it still feels the same. Try to RMA it and see if the next one is still the same.

QUOTE(epiguru @ Sep 28 2012, 09:53 PM) I think you are looking for something like this: Tamiya 4WD Grease. Because I've switched keyboards, I'm buying some Krytox grease and oil for the MX switches on my board. They should be quite good. |
