anyway, it shouldn't has any differences between buying direct from SiS or dealer..

i can.. i have the guide in PDF actually.. see attached.. xD

1. just go to www.dopodasia.com
2. look for the "Member" tab.. u need to register first because the download is in the member-only section..
3. after login, at the navigation on the left, click at Download Application
4. look for CE-Star (item no. 6), choose registration form (need to register ur dopod)
5. fill in the form and submit
6. u'll receive a code in ur email and just register ur copy of ce-star on ur pda.

note: device owner name - once u register, device name can't be change.. if changed, ur copy or ce-star will be considered "unregistered"..

i actually called MAXIS as i could not find any guide on maxis' setting for dopod.. in any forums.. so they sent me this..

dunno y.. DiGi's settings seem very popular among the forummers.. hehe xD

bought mine from there too.. what i would say is.. the after-sales service is pretty darn good.. well, i had screwed my dopod twice (due to itchy hands).. they were glad to help.. no questions asked.. i even forgot to bring any proof of purchase..

my spb is not causing any problems so far.. other software perhaps?

too bad then.. well, there are always other choices of s/ware to choose from..

hm.. i think i'll try that once my warranty is over..

u need a wireless network to use wifi.. and yes, u'll need a wireless router..

mine was automatic.. there is a setting on the ActiveSync's window.. forgot where already.. in office now.

there is this option called connect to.. i just assigned it to "Automatic"..
whenever my dopod is synchronising with my PC, i'm able to surf the Internet..

No, u dun have to connect ur device to the internet..
you can register on the internet using the url given (mobem something) by key-in ur device ID and serial num.. and then they will e-mail u the registration code..

then on ur device, go to ur CE-Star's About or Register.. just entered the given registration code and tap OK.. u're done!

u can always download the setup file again from dopodasia's website.. i've been downloading it for the 3rd time by the way..

2. if u're a heavy user.. i suggest once a week.. if not once a month is good.. well, that's for me.. xD

is ur device ID same with the one u key-in during the mobem registration? it must be identical.. so, if ce-star is so important to u that u can't uninstall it, be sure that u're not changing ur device ID anymore.. because once u changed it to the one differ from that during the registration, ur CE-STAR is deemed to be unregistered..

check ur e-mail addresS?
some time, it will not be immediately..

first, u have to disable ur router's authentication and encryption (to OPEN).. let ur dopod to detect and connect to a open wireless.. then only u can enable back ur router's previous encryption (WEP, WPA, WPA-PSK, etc)..

after u've enable ur wifi's encryption mode.. just key in the network key/code into ur wireless' network on ur dopod.. and u're able to connect to ur wifi aledi..

and btw, is that ur own wifi or others (eg. hotspot)?

casing? i'm using a leather flip casing..

all PDAs have these kinda of problem.. but it's not a problem at all..
when receiving sms, it tends to play to whole song (well, if u set a song to it) from start to end.. it's not like normal mobile phone which it will stop when u pressed a button.

so, it's advisable to trim down ur tone to 5 or 10 seconds instead of the whole song..

hahaha.. if medium quality i guess it should be at least 7-8MB.. is it?

those will not effect the mms services..

what do u mean by cannot get online?
does ur wireless network on ur dopod shows "CONNECTED" and not "CONNECTING"?

to refrain from connecting with ur GPRS automatically.. u can try this..
go to START>SETTINGS>CONNECTIONS
click on ADVANCED tab.. on 'Select which networks are automatically used.', click on 'Select Networks'..
On the first dropdown, click anyone other than ur GPRS settings (for my case, Maxis Settings).. then click OK..

hmm.. not sure.. but search previous post for digi configurations..
might be the auto-configuration's problem..
i tried that too.. but all my gprs, mms were not working..

i think my speaker's blast too.. but not totally though..

EDIT: hehe, went back to normal after i soft-reset it..
