i think that would means hard-reset the device.. it usually revert back ur device to the original state..

oh yea, my speaker suddenly gone mute.. fixed after i soft-reset it..

EDIT: nvm, found it from dopodasia.com.. need to fix my speaker and the gprs thingy, last time can mms.. now cannot..

it's the same with the one that i've uploaded here.. and i'm using postpaid too.. can use the gprs.. but now i think it went haywired cos when i want to mms.. it says some unknown reason.. can't connect to gprs..

i am using the same settings as before and yet, now i can't connect to GPRS.. it says:

refer to previous post.. there are instructions on how to get the free CE-Star to read and write Chinese...
can download from dopodasia.com but as urs is a second hand device.. u have to get the logins from the previous owner (if he/she registered before)..

if dun want the hassle.. i think there are a number of freeware out there (eg. monster chinese, etc.)

There was a period where my GPRS isn't working even though I had followed the instructions on the PDF Maxis sent to me.. Though of going to Maxis centre to check. One fine day, I was playing around with my 818pro and decided to do a auto-configuration to Maxis 3G (as my SIM card is a 3G Sim). Viola~ GPRS is on!

But now, my infrared isn't working.. I tried to send some files to my friend's Samsung. Previously it transferred smoothly. Now, as soon as I pressed Send, it popped up saying some errors occurred and unable to send..

Added on April 10, 2007, 10:40 amI did a test just now. I'm able to receive file sent from my friend's Samsung handset but when I try sending the same file from my 818pro back, it says "An error occurred sending file "\My Documents\My Pictures\IMAGE_00043.jpg".

Any idea?

yeap.. did soft-reset numerous of times.. same error..

anyway.. i've just found out it's my resco explorer.. when u're using resco.. there is a SEND TO.. when u tap+hold on a file.. but I used the file explorer and used Beam instead.. and it work..

I got Beam in the Connections but no IR..
anyway, I guess it's the Resco Explorer thing..

u just need to get CE-Star or Monster Chinese.. but most would probably recommend CE-Star..
is your dopod a first-hand or 2nd hand?
if first hand - just go to dopodasia.com, register, login and download from there (need to register ur device's ID).. if second-hand.. hmm.. not sure.. get it from the previous owner gua..

yes.. dopodasia provides CE-Star download for registered owner/member..

hey.. i've just found an update for 818pro's problematic speaker (well, it's an old patch or something) which has been posted up for quite some times.. i've downloaded it and run on my device.. it kept saying the installation was unsuccessful.. did anyone try that before?

i'm not sure.. last time i brought it back to SiS to change.. i guess they did not change anything.. but nevertheless.. the sound are a bit better..

unless u wanna get 2nd hand.. or try ur luck searching shops that are still selling..
