from our manual, if im not wrong, stated 5w40 to 5w50 best to forte???
i can only check it after work
*
I just checked the manual. 5w20 acceptable. But I am not sure Idemitsu is good brand? So far I found Idetmisu having 5w20 only.

And then if I ask SC to use this one instead of Petronas engine oil. Not sure they want or not sad.gif

Hi guys, i was wondering is it ok if i send my car to other workshops instead of KIA SC starting from my 10k service?
*
Since your car void warranty .. no problem. rclxms.gif

But in case you want to fix something critical, better go back to KIA SC. But make sure good SC. smile.gif

I have the experience with Perodua, I sent to outside workshop just want to save money, but they install cheap spare part for me make my car like a shit. Later sent to lousy Perodua SC. He told me is my car is like that..
At last I sent back to good SC, quite far and it fixed my problem forever.

Yeah lah .. That's the problem. We need the authorized stamp. But I really admire you. You have modified your car a lot and you can maintain your car by yourself. smile.gif

Just wondering if your car still under warranty since you have modified so many thing? If warranty void, dont care about stamp chop already.

Just sent to car to pasang mud guard to reduce wheel water splash. The boss explained many thing to me and looks like many things need to be fixed to make the car perfect.

Also notice this round full tank fuel consumption is higher. Around 9.8L/100km compare to last tank 9.5L/100km - Driver speed average 27km/h (stucked everywhere).. This is expected because I vroom when necessary.

Also, I just pump Caltex ron95 and want to see how it perform.
I felt like the car is quite heavy, so I pumped 230 psi for front wheel and 220 psi for rear wheel. And feel like very light now smile.gif I hope this is correct and no harm to my car. Please advice.

Your car is almost perfect already. I am not dare to suggest anything. smile.gif you are master guru here.

One of the thing he suggest to me is set up Qmax LV Voltage Stabilizer. Do you know is this good for Forte?

a friend of mine is getting his car and now have to decide which tint to go for. it's the voucher rebate thing that SA gave, RM500

he will need to top up below for:
1. air gard SF80 (i can't find much info on this one in google) - RM1.1K
2. raytech - RM1.5K

both security film and IR up to >85%

do you guys think it is a fair price to pay for?
*
The voucher rm500 could be just a bait. This is the way the SA earn money from tint shop.

Try this way ...

You ask your friend bring the car to the same tint shop and ask for the price for below. Dont show the voucher. Ask for them minimum price.
1. air gard SF80
2. raytech

Then once confirmed the price, show him your rm500 voucher. see what the tint shop boss say ... brows.gif

Honda Civic, Mazda 3, Corolla Altis, Nissan Sylphy, Hyundai Elantra, Lancer GT, Ford Focus, Polo Sedan, Peugeot 408, Ducati Panigale.
All sell at the same price RM99,900.
What ur choice & why ?
*
Good question. Addon: Assuming all having same specifications and same engine CC. Then this is valid question.tongue.gif

Mud guard is it those cover that attach behind the tyre? I was thinking to install those but looks ugly to my white forte wor. What color you install? Can show picture?
*
Here is the mud guard I installed. I noticed many Forte on the road not installed with bodykit. It is really annoying without mud guard. Everytime need to wash car and easily get dirty. I suggest you install this at least make the car cleaner. But please take note, once you installed, you cannot install bodykit later. Unless you sacrifice the mud guard.

Hi,
what you mean price is same as SA show? You mean the price SA showed is after discounted from voucher?

If that is the case, then the top up the price before give you voucher. Expected.

maybe he should rephrase it to FOB chain (no more key) for kia instead. while other brands still use keys  biggrin.gif
is it confirmed that we can't install mud flaps if we have bodykit installed? on the second day that i got the car, i travelled to surprise my family (they live in another state). last quater of the journey, on a long stretch of road, the traffic came to a standstill, turns out they were tar-ing the road, i was so worried my car would have tar stains on the body  sad.gif  good thing they finished the job and did it well so not a single stain  laugh.gif
*
I think so, because the bodykit need to use the mud flap screws to lock the bodykit. The mechanic told me either mud flap of bodykit. But once you pasang bodykit, i think your car will not get dirty because body kit is big enough to stop the splash from tyre. The problem only happened to me becuase I didnt pasang bodykit last time.

Hi V12K, no problem waiting for you, we all know how bad traffic in KL/PJ is nowadays. Thanks for the sale of the last piece to me & for your installation and patient explanation on how it works.

I am really happy with the Firestorm installed in my car on Oct 1:
1. Gear changes are much smoother, feels like CVT.
2. Engine noise is reduced when accelerating.
3. Uphill climbs use less effort.

Did not really monitor FC yet as now busy flying here & there.

For the price, I think it is the best value mod you can put in your car. For those driving 1.6SX, put this in & you will stop regretting you did not buy the 2.0SX. :-)
*
Forteh,
Share with us the FC after firestorm installed. BTW, how much you paid for that?

I am wondering if this firestorm better or Qmax LV Voltage Stabilizer (cost about RM650++). My Forte is 1.6SX. Hope to get the best for my car and help on fuel consumption.

Today I just fuel up full tank. The previous Caltex Ron95 no help on FC. Same as Esso Ron95.

Not monitored FC yet but I don't think would be fantastic. Price less than RM300. Firestorm helps performance more than for FC unless you drive economically.

For value & for a lower price, I recommend this Firestorm over the Qmax which I also have. I think VS effect is better for older cars.
*
You are right. This qmax product too expensive.

Yes.. Try format with FAT only. Have you try WMA format?

BTW, how is the SD card? If you copy song WMA or MP3 to SD card, see whether it plays or not.

Check the version of HU. Could it be old version?

Yesterday I made a trip from Damansara Utama to Alor Gajah, Melaka & back. Pumped full tank before journey. On the way there, lowest average FC achieved was 5.9l/100km & after coming back with some town driving, the ave FC reading was 6.6l/100km with trip distance of 306.8km + distance to empty 264km = 570.8km. Fuel tank needle showing half tank.  biggrin.gif
*
The odometer is not reliable. Not sure if this is happened to me only. All the while I get 9L/100KM showed in my odometer (I reset after filled up full tank). And then when I use fuelly.com to calculate, I only managed to get 10L/100KM all my trip. Of course fuelly.com is acurrate.

If you see 6L/100KM when driving on highway (I scored same as well), I believe it is 7L/100KM actually. I think the best way to calculate is, (1) fill up full tank in the highway (2)drive until reach your destination but before exit highway (3) fill up again and calculate the different mileage divide by the last number of litres you filled up.

just finished my fifth full tank.. only done 370km from full tank to dte blink ohmy.gif
my driving condition is 100% city drive.. 1.6sx..just done first service last week. around rm0.25 per km..same with my myvi auto. May be i m driving in a small town(sarawak sibu) with full of traffic light. hopefully next tank will have better performance. Previous five tank using petronas ron95.. now going to try shell c how's the performance.

Had been driving it from sibu to kuching last week, it is around 450km..achieved 6.6L/100km.. full tank can hit 580km..drive consistently 90km/h.. quite big different for city drive and so called highway drive(lol sarawak "highway" suxk)

i had been taking my forte for around one month. Still very happy with it..really nice driving experience and good soundproof..and i enjoy the sound system too. No any problem til now except high fuel consumption during city drive. But if let me choose again, i will definitely choose forte instead of elantra(after test drive both car, i go for forte)
*
Yes. City drive is a bit bad FC. What is your average speed in km/h?

Mine average 27 km/h in city drive. And the FC 10L/100KM.

Hey what's this average all about? Average speed so far? Cannot be right? Mine is 32 km/h higher better or lower better?
*
It calculate based on your driving speed + elapsed time. Of course the more faster means better. If you reset before drive on highway, you see the average is close to 110 km/h on yuur odometer. Like I always crawling on the bridge, I only managed to get 27 and this will impact the fuel consumption.

Many people's saying their FC is good. But it doesn't mean good until compare how fast they drive. For example 12L/100km driving with speed 26km/h .... The FC is far better then 10L/100km with speed 65km/h.

Agree?

My 2 month old bright silver baby got scratched recently by kids on bicycle. There is a 6 inch line on the right hand side at the back of the car. Luckily it is not noticeable from far. But nearby you can see a line. Tried to polish the thing, cannot remove it. use finger to feel it, can feel something but not too deep.

Wondering if sending this to Waxson, PPS or Siera Glow, can hide the scratch or not. Any advice?
*
So sad. cry.gif

I was thinking about coating as well when my bright silver get scratched by myself when I put heavy thing on top of my trunk.

I think coating can solve the problem. I think they will use sand paper to clear the scratch then only apply the coating. But it is too expensive to me and I give up this.

i was using Caltex from the beginning until 3000km +
then i switch to Shell, FC is most likely the same with 100% city drive, in penang island. normally just around 360km per full tank. but highway drive easily break 500km per full tank.
Mine is average 22-25 km/h, FC 10.5-11.5 L/100km
higher is better, i noticed that Forte 1.6sx will perform better for FC if the speed constantly hit above 60km/h.
if keep below 60km/h it will just stay at 10-11L/100km sad.gif
with the example given, 10L/100km with speed 65km/h is better for sure smile.gif
*
I am thinking all Ron95 are same regardless you use Caltex / BHP / Esso / Shell. Should be no different. I think engine oil make the different. I will try 5W20 next time smile.gif

The reason I said 12L/100KM with speed 27km/h (Car A) better than 10L/100km with speed 65km/h (Car B)because .... if you drive Car B with speed 27km/h, then the FC could be 15L/100km.

Thats why I said FC comparison also must consider the average speed.
