I travel to my company using Forte, it showed 70km mileage at the end.

When I used myVI, it showed 85km.

Funny!!! Which one I should believe.

Good Idea. Just use google map and found is about 72km distance smile.gif

Myvi having problem sad.gif. So if this is not correct, then my FC calculation using www.fuelly.com on myvi is not correct too.

Wanna ask, when you collect your new car from dealer, what is the mileage like ? I heard some 'brand' or 'dealer' said should be around 20-30Km, some said below 50km is ok/
*
Mine is 8km. I questioned the SA and he told me the KIA factory did the drive test before deliver. I dont believe that.
I know some of them will send for car wash or wax.

But if you asked for free bodykit, coating, tinted, or any modification, then this should be normal as they have to take your car to accessories shop.

I talked to one of the SA from KIA sales office. He told me KIA confirmed 2014 to deliver K3 in Malaysia. He also told me KIA Rio will come in next 1 or 2 months. rclxms.gif

Believe it or not smile.gif

Hi, just a question over here. Can we bring our own engine oil to SC to do service? SC is charging rm2xx, but yesterday I saw Tesco is selling Shell Helix Ultra 5w40 at only rm149. @.@
*
You have to call and ask the SC. Different SC different rule. If you kawan with them, sure they can do for you. But, you want to use 5w40? They said 5w30 will be better for Forte.

Hey guys!

Got my silver bright 1.6SX on 31st August 2012. Been driving it for more than a week. Really love it. This is my first car, so I might sound abit biased when I say, this car really worth every single penny that I spent on it.

So far I never experienced the rattling, and left pull (touch wood!) yet. Plus the SpeedNavi is really accurate and helpful.

Overall, my experience has been awesome so far!
*
Good to hear that. Try to drive on highway and check the left pull.

Try not to drive on bumping roads or you will have rattling problem.

I am sure everyone has these 2 problems.

WHO NEVER ENCOUNTERED BOTH PROBLEMS ??? Tell me laugh.gif

on the matter of spare parts' price. i have to ask, is it more expensive than other's like vios and city ?

everytime i mention a kia car and wanted to buy, every one i know, whether friend's or mechanic or car dealer, will say that the spare parts r very, VERY (they said), expensive.

then they go on the reasoning, 'its korean car mar, what u expect'
*
Why expensive? because the spare part bulk import is less than Toyota and Honda. Peoples still get poisoned with buying cheap car but pay more money.

And today if you look on the road, you can see KIA and Hyundai car everywhere... And give them another 2-3 years you will see the spare part price will be dropped significantly. Forte is still new (since 2010) to us and very solid and no need spare part to be replaced.

Another few years, when most of the Forte need spare part replacement, than with bulk orders you will see the price will be drop.

I am happy to see Forte everywhere nowadays. rclxms.gif

Please dont follow their narrow mind opinions.

This is just sweet dream. BN menang, they even more free to do what they want. Opposition menang, no way to reduce price. For sure, banker will bankrupt first then only Car traders. Malaysia economy is fully rely on car sales. imagine you pay 100% tax more for a car. Whole Malaysia will corrupt with price drop.

They may reduce car price with lower spec. That may happens.

Same to me.. I drive everyday to terrible area with bumping road everyday and I also thinking to fix the rattling sound too.. But I have same worry. It may cause the rattling sound even worst if we get the wrong person to fix it.

I observe everyday I know my HU having rattling sound and also the meter. rclxub.gif

The sound only appear when hit the bump or uneven road. So have to tahan.... Wait and wait .. maybe after a while the sound will dissapear by itself.

The rattling sound from my clock gone after a while ...

Try to detect it and tekan tekan .. sometimes it works! Now the rattling on meter and clock lesser.

But HU one not so easy because a bit longgar .... sad.gif

But all this only sounds when my car run on bumping road.. normal drive wont hear anything.

Please avoid bumping roads.

any product that can "protect" the rubber and also the leather sit so it will not loosen after several months open to the sunlight?  sweat.gif

Malaysia sunlight kill everything. you have to be careful. Please ensure have good tinted to protect your interior.

I donno how to protect your external part. Perhaps, you can buy car cover to cover whole car. If you use product, some will make the rubber even more harder and easier get crack.

Bad news. Went to Penang and on my way there a stupid lorry sprayed small stones all over my whitey..now got paint chips and some dents on the hood..=(

Does anyone knows how much it costs to paint over the paint chips? I'm so sad, considering the car is just a month old..=(
*
Sorry to hear that. I can understand your feeling when my 1 month Forte scratched by truck and later I accidentally get it scratched by myself.

I think they will not paint part of your hood only but they will advice paint the whole hood. Maybe you can consider send to coating shop and apply coating since your is white color car.

Lesson is that the more you open the part there is a chance the more loosen the part is.

Yeah lah.. Dont simply ask them to fix dashboard rattling sound. Unless it is really terrible and you cannot take it. Sometimes, it make the problem even worst.

Gonna try to buy touch up paint first and see..so rugi if have to paint the whole hood, but if touch up paint doesn't work,i'm just gonna repaint the whole hood, ketuk the door and paint that too. There goes my money, can see it flying away already.  cry.gif

Nope..i was on a convoy with my friends and we decided to drive no more than 100km/j (since some of my friends are driving smaller cars) when suddenly a lorry overtook me near a few km from Sg Dua toll..thank God i braked when i realized what happened,if not i'm sure it could be worse. One of my friend who drove a Mazda 3 in front of me got a cracked windshield, cost him rm250 at Dr.Cermin to glue the crack.

We all sumpah that lorry driver, haha.
*
I can tell you some of the lorry or truck drivers are stupid bugger! I faced the problem like you. The truck driver turned to my lane simply just to avoid emergency brake on the penang bridge. That almost killing me. The wheel of the truck hit m right side mirror and scratched it. And then shout to me explained not his fault, hit & run. This happened during non-peak hour.

So my advice to the car drivers when you drive on the highway especially there are a lot of lorry and truck running, please maintain certain speed and keep in the middle lane. If you see stupid big truck or lorry, let them over take you or you over take them. Dont get close to them.

I have 2500 mileage already. it will be slightly better only. Forte is Fuel sucker. The only thing I dont like is the FC. Many peoples did a lot of thing including change the RIMS, add K&N filter to improve the FC.

The SA told me you only will see the significant improvement after 5K mileage.

I am from Penang too, mine currently hit about 9.5-10Litre / 100KM. Drive with very light foot already... Like ah pondan... doh.gif

Bro, u comparing Forte FC with what car? If u comparing Forte FC with the other car segment (i.e. A or B segment car), it's an unfair comparison in the first place. 9.5L/100km on a well-known jammed Penang roads, i believe the figure is justifiable & acceptable for a C segment & heavier car like Forte.

By the way, try drive at a constant speed of 110km/h on a clear highway (& level road), & then reset the onboard  average FC meter. Try maintaining the speed for a while & take note the average FC on the onboard meter..could u give the average FC figure here?
*
Hi izputra, you again smile.gif

Of course I compare this car with Altis / Civic level .. you will know this car is fuel sucker.. And you can read reviews and compare. There are many.

I got my friend using TOYOTA CAMRY and the fuel comsumption is same as mine compared in fuelly.com.

So you know this car fuel comsumption is more higher than other.
