I guess I can't judge who's being honest and who's not, that is beyond my capability. What I can make judgement is if the company has a bright future on its business earnings capability, which I'm optimistic for E&O's huge landbanks in Penang and Penang's great future ahead, in addition to E&O's good brand name. With close to 3% yield from my buying price, I am quite comfortable to hold it for another 3 years. Besides, it contains only 5% of my profile, not too heavy. biggrin.gif

Yea.. That is how the market works..

That time, Proton, also similar thing. Up up up, and one fine day, one lousy news come out, and everything drop dead.

After Proton gone, everyone forgets.. Now E&O (a high possible target)

The way I see how it is eaten up in large sum, and how volume are gone during the gap down.. something is not right.

If no GO, then there should be around 30+ million shares coming back out to the market for transaction. but sharkies are not pushing them out.. They are holding.. and want to just kill the contra traders only
*
I feel the same as you too. I'm monitoring today's buy rate. From 20 to 30 to 40 and now 47%....I am guessing possibility of sharks attracting retailers out to release their shares at low cost and now accumulating....just my wild guess though. And don't play contra on this sort of things, because it may drag for many months and so... biggrin.gif

SOLD. Gent sold off Genting Sanyen for ~RM2.3bil, lower than initially quoted by Business Times. SOP price was reported around ~RM2.17bil by Kenanga.
KUALA LUMPUR: Genting Bhd is selling its power generation business to 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) for RM2.30bil cash consideration as the group seeks to expand and develop its power generation portfolio abroad.

It said on Monday it was selling its entire 97.7% stake in Mastika Lagenda Sdn Bhd, which houses its power assets, to 1MDB.

Its 97.7% owned subsidiary Genting Sayen (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd was also selling its freehold and leasehold industrial land where the power plant is located, measuring 3.21m sq ft in Kuala Langat, Selangor for RM38.8mil

Half good half bad. Good for more pure gaming stock, bad for sold so cheap price. So how? Tomorrow neutral? Flat? biggrin.gif

Added on August 13, 2012, 10:12 pmCoastal Group's wholly-owned units, Coastal Offshore (Labuan) Pte Ltd and Thaumas Marine Ltd have collectively secured contracts for the sale of vessels, namely a 300-Men Accommodation Work Barge, one unit of Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) and two units of low-end vessels for RM141 million.

"Following our recent order book intakes of RM446 million last month, we are glad to secure another major win within a short period of time despite the global economy’s growth threatened by the Eurozone debt crisis and its spillover effects," said the group's chairman Ng Chin Heng, in a statement today.

Except for the AHTS, which is for a repeat customer, the rest of
the vessels are being sold to new customers from Singapore.

The vessels are expected to be delivered this year and in 2013.

The sales of the vessels are expected to contribute positively to the group's performance for the financial years ending Dec 31, 2012 and Dec 31, 2013.

Todate, the shipbuilder has about RM711 million worth of vessel sales orders awaiting delivery to customers up to 2013.

"Currently, oil and gas exploration and production activities are increasingly taking place in more remote locations and harsh climates.

"We anticipate the demand for more technologically advanced and bigger size accommodation work barge to increase in future," Ng said.

The group specialises in offshore support vessels as well as marine transportation vessels.

Presently, it owns and operates a comprehensive young fleet of 29 vessels, comprising 11 tug boats, 11 deck barges and seven oil barges. -- Bernama

The RM141 million vessel sales contracts bagged by Coastal Group is a positive turn for the shipbuilder, says HwangDBS.

It secured the contracts in the midst of a drought in orders during the first half of this year following increasingly negative sentiment in global markets and depressing oil and gas investments, it said.

In its research note, HwangDBS however said net margins on vessels would likely hover between 15 per cent and and 20 per cent, given a persistent buyer’s market.

"We think orders will continue to trickle in, underpinned by demand for replacement of aging offshore support vessels and strong investment support from Petronas," it said.

The research house said Coastal still had a solid net cash position ensuring minimal debt issues, and was in the midst of moving up the value chain to build higher margin vessels -- subsea vessels worth US$100 million.

Accordingly, it maintained a 'Buy' call for the company's shares at a price target of RM2.35.
