There are about 20,000 malicious Android apps in circulation, says Trend Micro. And about 13 million phones worldwide have been infected, says Chinese security firm NetQin.

A big part of these involve remotely controlling smartphones into sending premium text messages, as well as spamming the phones’ inboxes with junk messages.

QUOTE
The legitimate Opera Mini would only require the following:
-Storage
-Network communication
-Your personal information

However, the OpFake version would also require the following:
-Your messages
-Services that cost you money

In a Fast Company article, Neil Ungerleider says the fact that an app seeks permissions for “phone calls,” “messages” and “services that cost you money” should already raise suspicions of a potential threat. Does a mobile web browser really need to initiate SMS messages and access services that result in carrier charges?

In the mod guide above, I saw a chainfire 3D icon. I installed that few days ago, but it does not work on mine. I click on the nightmode and the screen just blink. It does not change like when I was using it with S2. Also, after installing that app, I have problems running FL Commando properly. Anyone got it to work successfully? Did I miss any tweaks?

That is one of the reason I stopped using Chrome. Now I'm using Maxthon Browser. Much better and can close browser with exit button. Try it for yourself

swiping off from your all task launcher isn't closing them. you are simply removing the shortcut from the launcher

even after you swipe off all the apps on the list where you hold your home button, its still running . that is just a list of recent apps used . IT wont exit the apps at all cost. rolleyes.gif

Did you read one of the comments in the video. Apparently the user managed to scratch the SP using the squeegee given rclxub.gif
Either the user is very rough or the SP is very thin.

Let us know when you've received your SP and installed it. Want an unbiased review biggrin.gif

Proud owner of a S3 16GB Pebble Blue. =) However, battery life seems a bit let down. left about 30 percent (been using since 9am - max 4 hours of surfing net) after a full charge last night. Any tips on improving the battery life? Thx

I believe that guy took off the protective film when he was using the squeegee..
The protective film should still be intact while removing the bubbles to prevent scratching the SP.
(this is from my experience when applying a pasar malam ipod touch SP last time doh.gif)

I will give a review of the product after i receive and install the SP smile.gif

in my experience, the bad battery life is caused by the hourly update interval of the weather widget (beautiful widget / stock widget). I set mine to Manual update and battery life is amazing smile.gif

use auto brightness
use wifi or 2g data instead of 3G. 3G is power sucking.
use dark colour non live wallpaper
use manual update for weather widget/fb widget.
turn on bluetooth only when needed
turn off unnecesary auto sync in apps settings or in account and sync(settings)
turn off svoice screen unlock
turn off geo-tag (location tag) in certain apps (eg: fb messenger)
dont use screen off/on which uses motion/light sensor
dont place too much widget on homescreen
dont kill task using 3rd party task killer
dont use multiple launcher at once
not necessary to place too much homescreen if possible as its juice sucking.
not necessary to use power saving mode
not necessary to use juice defender
not necessary to install battery saving application.

laugh.gif This is really TLDR wall of text thumbup.gif
