QUOTE(ConanEdo @ Aug 15 2012, 07:29 PM) thanks for ur opinion bro.. i can usually get by 9 hours of standby time and my battery only drops 1%.i am also thinking this anti virus program will consume my battery a lot.. but with antivirus, after 9 hours of standby, battery drops about 5% also, i notice that the device becomes 'awake' very frequently (judging by the battery graph) This post has been edited by YouDontKnowMyName: Aug 15 2012, 07:31 PM |

QUOTE(ramz @ Aug 15 2012, 04:29 PM) 1. waze u use awhile only no more battery. eh really ? it uses lots of battery ? 2. waze can't work out of town. 3. waze is for fun. sygic means business. but i do agree waze is more for fun. I tried cygic and it's accurate, but i didn't feel it was as user friendly to use compared to waze. waze map is totally social based meaning the roads are only recorded via cars with waze enabled that travel along them. Whereas Cygic got their maps via their own research. So there is no question there which is more accurate. But for non business friendly usage, waze is cool to use. I question however cygic vs waze in terms of reporting cameras, traffic conditions, and accidents on the road. This is one area i feel waze may actually be better in terms of privacy, cygic wins, because you don't have to disclose your location to others, whereas Waze you do since this is the whole idea on who Waze works. Waze could be problematic if your on someones hit list as you don't want them to know where you are, which is why i use an alias for my Waze and turn it off when i'm at home This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Aug 15 2012, 07:40 PM |

Hey Moogle Stilzkin,
I have just rooted my phone this evening and am now preparing to flash Wanamlite 2.4. Can I skip the backup part using Titanium since I have already backed up my contacts and pictures using Kies? |

Can I skip the backup part using Titanium since I have already backed up my contacts and pictures using Kies? titanium backup is the most sure fire way to restore your contacts/settings/pictures/apps .... that is the only backup i would ever recommend This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Aug 15 2012, 07:42 PM |

QUOTE(ChipZ @ Aug 15 2012, 07:41 PM) Hey Moogle Stilzkin, because this is your first time migrating from samsung original firmware to thirdparty wanamlite rom, i recommend that when your in the recovery menu that youI have just rooted my phone this evening and am now preparing to flash Wanamlite 2.4. Can I skip the backup part using Titanium since I have already backed up my contacts and pictures using Kies? 1. factory reset 2. clear cache 3. clear dalvik once done then you install zip from internal sd, the wanamlite rom zip file. Of course before doing any of this, a backup is recommended using titanium backup especially if you need to redo many settings like wifi connection, etc etc... If you only want to backup pictures, you can temporary transfer them to your dropbox, or use airdroid. but then that leaves the question of how to backup your contacts ? This is why it's simple just to use titanium backup >->; QUOTE(weileong @ Aug 15 2012, 07:47 PM) good info This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Aug 15 2012, 07:48 PM |

Is Titanium a cloud-based app as in after I flash Wanamlite, it will still be there after I flash my ROM right? Also, do you mind explaining more about the loading the wanamlite file using airdroid?

Also, do you mind explaining more about the loading the wanamlite file using airdroid? QUOTE i. How to make your first backup Verify that Titanium Backup has started without warning and that your busybox is OK Click the Backup/Restore tab Click Menu (the button), Batch Click “Backup all user apps” (if you want just your apps) or “Backup all user apps + system data” if you want everything backed up. This doesn’t seem to always backup SMS and contact history. Let it run, then go back to the main backup tab. Individually backup the system data you want. That is most green-colored items. This will be bookmarks, call log, calendar, launcher, WiFi, etc. Now your backups are in the “TitaniumBackup” directory on your SD card. i strongly suggest you only backup the least amount of stuff possible (for your first time when migrating from stock to wanamlite), so that you don't accidentally restore bloatware from backup onto your device after installing wanamlite. So just only backup your phone settings (wifi, etc etc...), contacts, sms/call logs, your photos. so anyway after you upgrade to wanamlite, first thing you do is reinstall back titanium backup via googlestore. (don't worry apparently the factory reset does not wipe the backed up files by titanium backup located on your internal SD) then use the recovery option to restore your backup :} All done. the backups are stored on your internal SD by default. Although there is an option to sync this backup folder to dropbox if you wish, but this is only available for the Pro version of the app. My dropbox titanium backup is encrypted in case dropbox account got hacked You can read the titanium backup user guide here if you are still confused http://www.titaniumtrack.com/kb/titanium-b...user-guide.html This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Aug 15 2012, 07:57 PM |
