Anyone work in Bank Negara before? Is bank negara a good place to work? I know the benefits look good and attractive but not sure how's the working life there and the management. Seem like there are quite many who resign there also. I am planning to apply on for IT department.

Don't misunderstand. Bank Negara is a badan berkanun, not fully government. Like Inland Revenue Board (Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri), they got their own salary schemes, their own remuneration packages and hire their own staffs. Their salary is higher than that of government's, but no, they don't have pension for their staffs.

Unlike government, where their salary and remuneration schemes could be found on the internet (just ask google) and let the Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Awam (SPA) doing the recruitment works for them. These people have pensions. Kira fair la kan, gaji sikit, sebab tu ada pencen. Hehe.

But BNM's still one of the best employers out there, so I heard.

I don't get the job in Bank Negara. My degree result not qualified. They need at least second class upper even though I got 10 years working experience and 3 years supporting their cheque clearing system in bank negara biggrin.gif

Define "easy". Haha.

Back in 2016 i applied for IT position in BNM. Cleared the assesment and group discussion but didnt got the job. However, their HR kind enuff to recycle my resume for IT Audit position.

Same story. Failed to get the job.

Third time the charms. HR once more push my resume into different dept which in need of IT background as tech risk analyst. Been working here since then..

How did you apply? I applied Jobstreet but they always send back email say unable to proceed. Once there was a position that asked for a 2000 word essay. Put all my brain cell writing it yet no response.

There are certain condition that you need to meet. Example your GPA and salary cannot exceed certain range. BNM can't offer big competitive salary but their benefits are super. 30 days annual leave imagine lol

It’s really quite tough to get into Central Bank, don’t give up and keep trying.

I have a friend that worked for few years with BNM, and then he got an offer from a Consulting firm with huge bump in salary.

It’s great for your CV

Jobstreet is a waste to apply for position in Bank Negara. Just imagine how many applicants apply for a position in Bank Negara? More than 300.

My suggestion is to find HR recruiter from Bank Negara in Linkedin and chat with them on the available post there, or if any of your friends work there, you can pass your CV to them.

No harm trying different approach.

to all dumb ass here.

u think bank negara is like supermarket, can easily join?

i have read most of the vacancies from bank negara long time ago and until now.

from what i read, the requirements are very tough.

yes the bank negara is best place to work but the question is is that u are quality enough to join? 1st class degree holder also is not the guarantee to be selected.

Hey,

Don't say people dumb ass here.

Have you try apply to Bank Negara b4?

The requirement is straight forward mention need to have 3.0 above, or have experience in certain area (for experience people). That's all.

I have a friend who already worked there. Only 1 interview only. How did he got the job? He send the CV to the HR directly.

Bank Negara for some is the best place to work, but if you can handle office politics, then you'll be fine.

I must say it is not the best place to work. It's kinda outdated information.

Also I don't know why people said it is so hard, I just apply through Job Street and went to the IV and rejected the offer. Just make sure your CV is clean and professional, and communicate with them profesionally that's all.

for essay there would be a general knowledge question, brain teaser and open topic.

then there would be a group discussion session. where the question is all about IT problem and solution.

after that, there would be an interview session with 3-4 panel. HR and Managers / Deputy Directors.

this is based on my experiences back in 2017, now more or less is the same process.. (i think so )

i applied for IT support executive, initially there was 10 ppl and as it progress to later stage only down to 5 ppl.

hope this help.

Well the package is not attractive hence I rejected it even after nego.

150-250 words and it's open issue. Serious you don't need to be afraid about the essay, it's just like a mere requirement, plus you may google the topics for some word/sentence etc. Focus more on preparing the interview.

Normally it will be a mixture of questions. Behavioral, technical, working style, etc. it all depends on the interviewer. Google and Youtube can be a good guide to prepare for interview.

As per stated in my previous reply, please read more about FinTech, Digital Innovation for Financial Instituion, Industry 4.0 and during the IV mention those keyword at contribution question. This will help you a lot to gain advantage compared to other candidate as not all software developer know about this.

I work in financial institution as a programmer so that's why I think applying BNM is quite easy and the IV is quite easy. Don't worry they won't kill you about technical question as you are not going to be a vendor. When you are working with big firm like GLCs you need to know more about the SOP, Processes, and fundamental of technical things.

So my advice just read up the topic on what I said and make research on banking IT development like Maybank App, QRPay, etc and how it impact society.

Good afternoon, can sir/madam share me how you could relate contribution question to mentioned topic such as Industry 4.0 or fintech development? As contribution question is more on the skills that can be contributed to the organization? this for another interview for the position IT support, IT service department.

Hi All,

I am having an interview for a First Level Executive - HR tomorrow in BNM. I am nervous as hell because this year seems like a bad year for me.

Any tips or not-to-do list that I should adhere?

Thanks!

Went for five interviews, all five to the final stage, but just didn't manage to secure it.

Yes, I am preparing right now. Two copies just in case.

In regards to the interview process, I just finished the written exam (to answer 2 questions out of 4) that Sunday. The recruiter sent it to me via email and she was clocking my hour via Whatsapp. So I guess tomorrow's interview is just a face-to-face one?

My advice, just answer everything honestly and not on the book. Be confident, when it comes to salary leave it to them.

Keyword to mention: strategies to keep BNM have turnover rate.

Hope it helps!

Bro or sis, just apply first. It's very hard to get selected for an interview anyway, trust me. FYI, for the position that I interviewed and received an offer for, the number of applicants is 3000+. By sheer luck, I was shortlisted for an interview and selected.

Benefits and pay are okay, above average, not awesome, but not bad. Culture is quite bad, depending on the department. I left after a year.

Medical coverage is very high, lots of benefits and perks. High bonus are almost assured.

Cons: low increment and progression. Culture not working late but bureaucratic and lots of red tape.

I've completed the online assessment in Sept. I sent an email asking for the status after 2-weeks but no reply. Anyone here familiar with the hiring process?
