no offense. 

my job involve not really deep in tech. but i need to know everything from os, apps, db, scripting, and network.

prior to what i'm doing today, i have 4 years experience in sap basis.

purposely move from sap to non sap due to shift work.

for this current company, this is a newly setup team. so called pioneer.

who cares high tech or not? i don't care.

as long as they can pay me, i can wfh, more time for my family, and no hectic work. 

peace of mind.

u think kelly salary can trust? It seems abit low if compared to the salary reports from users in LYN..

example kelly need 8 yrs experience ot get like 10k while u see many users here already reporting 10k for less than 8 yrs exp

Got a new offer recently, don't know it's worth to jump or not...

Actually I was always told that don't compare about basic salary only, always compare about Annual total package, like in my current company I have 2 months bonus (which I ask around which is quite fix and minimum one month fix bonus and 1 month of performance bonus), the total package come up to be RM 71800/ annum

But then the new offer only have total package of RM 72000/annum

So it's not much different though...pls help!!

I have a feeling your company is giving out increment based on value rather than %. So the lower pay you get, the higher % you will get. But eventually you will reach a 2-3% increment.

Well, different company different policy. If you really think you can earn 10K, go ahead. Nothing is stopping you from doing so. You yourself determines how much you want for basic salary. Once you have 10K, then 3% if still not enough, jump again to get another 50%. Then if not enough jump again, until you are fully valued.

I believe it is demand and supply concept. If you worth more than that and your company don't value you with other perks and benefits, you can always jump until you feel that the company is paying you enough. Having said so, so many people are talking about changing companies this and that, but in the end how many actually do it? How many are actually getting better offer? We don't really know. I would say that if sometimes we think 3% is not enough, then time to change. Change until we find the one pays something that we really want. We are our own roadblock for getting better offer out there.

I'm just trying to tell you that majority companies are giving this kind of increment, seriously. I've been talking with friends on other companies and we are getting about the same, in terms of %, except some other companies who give increment based on value. However from the trend of these companies, eventually at one day my frens will be getting 3%

I'm under training now.just want to ask for project engineer is it possible to jump from mechanical to electronics.It because my passion towards electronics is higher than mechanical.but project engineer will give me knowledge from management,meeting client,costing and engineering also but it little about electronics.just hydraulic and electrical a bit..but i thinking after 2 or 3 years want to change to electronics especially DCS and SCADA which include PLC programming which had been my favourite subject in Uni..just want all of you advise..TQ

Tq there, this really a motivation for me...haha i accept this job as this is multinational and public listed company..so i think after few years experinece i could jump to another company with good market value right..for now i will focus on my job which is good as well but mechanical based,a lot of drawing..nevermind as it also a bit of my background so i have no prob for my current job i think..
but for future i would like to further my career in DCS industry as another LYN in in this forum 

No la DCS-Distribution Control system...its involve PLC programming..actually the correct sentence is i would like to further my career in COntrol System industry..i love to deal with all kind of job related to control system..BTW what you mean by go the xtra mile..should i working longer in this company before decide to jump..means 2 or 3 years is it enough?
