no offense.  biggrin.gif

my job involve not really deep in tech. but i need to know everything from os, apps, db, scripting, and network.

prior to what i'm doing today, i have 4 years experience in sap basis.

purposely move from sap to non sap due to shift work.

for this current company, this is a newly setup team. so called pioneer.

who cares high tech or not? i don't care.

as long as they can pay me, i can wfh, more time for my family, and no hectic work.  thumbup.gif

peace of mind.

u think kelly salary can trust? It seems abit low if compared to the salary reports from users in LYN..

example kelly need 8 yrs experience ot get like 10k while u see many users here already reporting 10k for less than 8 yrs exp hmm.gif
*
Kelly's report are for average ppl.
Those earning more than that, are not average ppl or lucky.
Shows that things are possible if you know how to do it.

QUOTE(Arsenal Manager @ Mar 22 2013, 12:23 PM)
Actually I was always told that don't compare about basic salary only, always compare about Annual total package, like in my current company I have 2 months bonus (which I ask around which is quite fix and minimum one month fix bonus and 1 month of performance bonus), the total package come up to be RM 71800/ annum

But then the new offer only have total package of RM 72000/annum

So it's not much different though...pls help!!
*
Ask the new company about the bonus payout then.
but it's usually a verbal thingy....
but 6k from 4.7k is about 27% jump.
pretty decent offer in my opinion

I have a feeling your company is giving out increment based on value rather than %. So the lower pay you get, the higher % you will get. But eventually you will reach a 2-3% increment.
*
let's see, say ur salary is RM 3,000
increment of 3% will be RM90?
What the heck is RM 90 man?

Of course if my salary is RM10,000 & 3% is already RM300.
Actually i will also bising. lol!

But below 5k, 5% increment don't do much

Well, different company different policy. If you really think you can earn 10K, go ahead. Nothing is stopping you from doing so. You yourself determines how much you want for basic salary. Once you have 10K, then 3% if still not enough, jump again to get another 50%. Then if not enough jump again, until you are fully valued.
*
Don't get me wrong. I agree with you that if u think u deserve more, ask for it. If not jump ship. I totally agree with this.

I'm just saying, with increment of 3%, it's really low.

I believe it is demand and supply concept. If you worth more than that and your company don't value you with other perks and benefits, you can always jump until you feel that the company is paying you enough. Having said so, so many people are talking about changing companies this and that, but in the end how many actually do it? How many are actually getting better offer? We don't really know. I would say that if sometimes we think 3% is not enough, then time to change. Change until we find the one pays something that we really want. We are our own roadblock for getting better offer out there.
*
yes, if the company do not value u that much, go to a company that is willing to pay you that much
else, no point whining also, cos most likely, that's how much you are worth

I'm just trying to tell you that majority companies are giving this kind of increment, seriously. I've been talking with friends on other companies and we are getting about the same, in terms of %, except some other companies who give increment based on value. However from the trend of these companies, eventually at one day my frens will be getting 3%
*
Then i think it's time to job hop. Get 30% increment n stay there for at least 2 years.
Gain more experience n when the increment goes to 3% again, time to move on.

No la DCS-Distribution Control system...its involve PLC programming..actually the correct sentence is i would like to further my career in COntrol System industry..i love to deal with all kind of job related to control system..BTW what you mean by go the xtra mile..should i working longer in this company before decide to jump..means 2 or 3 years is it enough?
*
what i meant was, learn whatever that is related to your field to enhance your mechanical engineering knowledge. Pursue your PE in mechanical.
Apart from that, pick up on your interest as well, get another degree for it if you can.

M&E works hand in hands, if you are good with both M & E, u have good a bright future no matter what you do.

How many years don't determine your knowledge gained. It's how fast can you gain from working there.
Throw you into a harsh condition where you face problems everyday, and you solve it. within a year, u will gain knowledge like working in an easy environment for 5 years.

it all depends on you on what is your goal and target
