i never noticed that function ...

i think the character slots isnt as important as the bank slots. 5 characters is plenty to play for awhile, whereas you will definitely need bank slots for crafting later on (which gives exp as well)

Agree, I was stating a more obvious comparison. Maybe some view char slots as very expensive stuff. To me. 3 char slots enough for now. And will only play 1 mainly.

just like how the crafting allows you to access ur bank and ur collectibles tab instantly...
it was one of the functions we asked/ bugged Anet to put back then...
can only fit a certain amount though btw (255 if i am not mistaken, dun remmeber anymore lolx), if u are a hardcore miner like me then its already full lol...

Added on July 31, 2012, 1:02 pmnah, again u have collectibles tab for banks (for all ur crafting mats up to 255 per crafting item) so bank slot isnt as important as other MMO as well =)

Anet strike the bullseye with this implementation...
as said, GW2 is breaking the MMORPG norm

Wait what? I'm talking about char slots. I'm certainly not worrying about bag spaces. And I know about the collectibles if that's all you want to share.

bank slot will be important when you start crafting, especially cooking, when you need 4x of 1 ingredient for the next recipe, then if you want to make a high tier recipe, you need 4x4 or 16x bag space.

Speaking of which, anyone confirmed what smithing they're going for?

You'll rarely stock up materials for crafting. You'll be combining them more for discovery than following a recipe thus you'll spread out your materials naturally. The good stuff are not found via recipe and leveling via recipe is slower than discovery as well. Unless there is a specific recipe you wanna spam of course.

I am not playing the beta version. Any idea where I could pre download the game now?

Can't stand D3 grinding anymore....started a new game....D3 really disappointed me but I still like to wait till the pvp come out.

by the way, don't buy bag cause you can craft good ones kinda early which level up your crafting as well. There are special type of bags as well for example the can't npc bag which I have on each of my character.

No, I was agreeing on 5 char slots are enough atm. Guess I did not note that properly. Still it's personal preference. I for one likes space and prioritize it over anything else in the gem store. You can't tell me bank slots are not important just because there is the collectible bank. It's less important but it has it uses and more of that space wont harm. And I sometimes don't want to send some collectibles back as I might not use them. Instead I'll sell them at AH. So going back to the bank always can also be tedious.

Now you're missing the point there. Bags cant be bought. Only Bag SLOTS. If you read my previous posts. Which is why eventually I will buy them. Bags however are always craft or get from PvP.

Oh i see...I have not done the pre-purchase yet......will purchase within 3-4 days....
tiring to play The secret World and D3....hahahaha.....not a fan to puzzle and grinding....more to teamwork pvp....
