With every issue of The Combat Tanks Collection you will receive:
a. a detailed model of one of history's great tanks and;
b. the accompanying magazine provides all the information on their history and features.

The DeAgostini The Combat Tanks Collection thread is for tank junkies who enjoys these 'moving fortress' and collect such magazine. Any detail/s regarding on the magazine will be available in here as well, whenever available. Do chip in and share as well smile.gif

The magazine itself will be priced at MYR 29.90 for all issues except the 1st ones at MYR 9.90 and 2nd issues at MYR 19.90 each. The magazine will be in store every next week, which mean that there are two magazines per month.

Tanks included are of 1/72 scale each that comes with their own base with description and display case and are pre-built and pre-painted. It is a mix of die-cast and plastic parts with movable turret and soft plastic thread. The tank is attached to the base via two screws beneath it.

You can try eztoyz website, its a US based company selling diecast planes, vehicles,etc. I normally buy diecast airliners from them.

They have some dragon armour WW2 Japanease Tanks ...go to this link

Faza, you ought to check HobbyHQ located in Fraser Business Park (IDK where is the exact location of the shop LOL even though they provided with exact address sweat.gif )
Last 4 years back when there was located in City Square (now demolished), they were selling Dragon Armor as well. But whether they do have any Japanese tanks such as Chi-Ha or Type 90 MBT, that IDK.

The owner was very knowledgeable and friendly to me, it was a delight when I bought my first 1/72 Dragon Model Tiger I from him.

Sometimes it is not about know or don't know. But rather don't care for "illogical rules" that are designed to be limiting.

If we could go beyond 125 (which we did), it obviously means the system can support it.
And if the system CANNOT support it, then the system obviously needs to be improved. No?

Anyway, since I've joined LYN, it seems to be their standard practice. Reason for it, I dunno. You gotta check on their rules & regulation section or ask the mods shud it intrigue your curiosity. Since we are on V2, too bad CTC doesn't have V2 rocket launchers(if that exist tongue.gif )

Well, since I have not collected my Issue 8 onwards, I am not sure what was printed at the back of Issue 8. I assumed it was Type 61 as mentioned here but now it's T-54. So again, me assume it's either the tank came out totally different or something else. That's why if anyone figuring why I'm asking for photos of the covers.

i'm going to see what version of issue 8 the book stores have. either it's the same or maybe it has an update and states that issue 9 will be T-54.

1) Not sure and not sighted any.
2) This is a sure thing but which issue it will come out is anyone guess.

I dont know whether my friend is lying or not.but he told me,in order to get some interest in malaysia up and running,t72 will be dedicated to the Pendekar version,so much like Ameer's TUDM mig29. If it is true,hope that the paint job and details are good enough

Just bek from Allscript, Vathi still as pretty as usual. biggrin.gif Issue number 9 & 10 is available in their office. I just brought the Issue #9, issue #10 look so small and not suite my collection theme, so i give up issue 10. Here is the photo for Issue 9.

i just got my issue 9 at popular leisure mall. no sight of issue 10. (PS, there is only one issue 9 when i saw it, luckily i quickly grabbed it biggrin.gif )

AllScript directly, yes they do sell it at RM 9.90 without the background card.. you can print the card yourself & put it

It is available from Allscript with BG (issue#1). Got my issue #2 with BG from there when all the outside place are sold without it.

For those built a series. There is always a possibility half way through company bankrupt, you lose interest, certain issues no stock etc. very risky. Some more it is difficult to sell part by part. Tanks in comparison, every issue is individual tank. Can sell easily, missed one or two issue also no harm.

i suggest u try check out ths movie..BATTLE OF BULGE, lot of tanks there,unfortunately tiger tank at nazi side is nt tiger at all.its M26 Pershing..hehe..but its a great old school movie..the best part is nazi army sing the PANZERLIED song!

just got my July 2012 shipment today.

Surprise that they give 2 "replacement units"
Steyr RSO/01 + Pak 40 anti-tank gun 2.Pz.Div Normandie France - 1944
Flakvierling Sd.Kfz. 7/1 with Sd. Ah.51 trailer 24.Pz.Div Don River sector USSR - 1942

instead of the
Sd.Kfz.9 FAMO Sd.Ah.116 Trailer

Although the notice letter included in the box mentioned that the 2 units are "special", they are in fact the item that comes with issue 43 and 50!

this is not acceptable and I'm now talking to Allscript on this.

So unless Allscript wants to be mafan to print those "correction page" and have 2 more new units to replace #43 and #50..

but in fact the biggest issue is that #43 and #50 will be around 2+ years from now, so they can just tell/promise us anything

btw have everyone discussed already on the display cases? Coz based on the subscription info, we get "one" case only. However this case holds only 12 and when I asked Allscript, they said "maybe" we can get from their office at RM29.90 later

but all these are still uncertainly (at least to my knowledge)

got the reply from Allscript this morning (thumbs up to their great cust service), saying that DeAgostini has replied saying that they will not be issuing the repeat tank!

In fact they add on that every countries have their own release list. Currently SG+MY release is quite same like South Africa (if you noticed some of our issues have R99.95 (south africa) mark on front page). So the publisher will "ensure no repeat tank is release" smile.gif

Lets stay tuned..

Hi, me just visited Allscript today... got my whole stack of tanks but the one with the Jagdtiger gotta put on hold due to no stocks. The few issues available there looks pretty bad the condition.

Ateyr RSO + Anti Tank and Flakvierling

inside got paper saying the 1 shown in the magazine for free tanks no more stock, so they replace with these 2

then they also say they will be giving 1 limited edition tank for all subscribers, i wonder what tank will that be

opps, just ran through the earlier posts, seems got ppl get more earlier that me

damn i was looking forward to the japanese tank

Those tank/half truck with open top usually come with more detail. When building the plastic kit, half-truck with open top are more challenging to build as one must also construct the internal part of the vehicle. So, the small size Grief is well done with interior detail. Hope the special edition tank will be our Malaysian Army force tank.

Not that I know of. No news yet. Anyway, though it is small and un-stackable, it's pretty detailed for a small model and it completes my tank collection. One thing for sure, I will not get duplicates on it for side projects.

Lufwaffe's ones mostly wink.gif I don't plan on getting other eras and different scales. MiG-29 was obtained due to patriotic cause since it's Malaysian ones tongue.gif
