if u leave it in D, even if u play with the steering +/-, it will go back to auto after a while....
there is no need to change to N then back to D... speaking of which this is a very dangerous thing to do.. u will lose control of the car...

if u wan to switch back to full auto, push the gear to the left then back again... voila... its back in full auto..
magic leh...

I heard from friends that the well known dsg problem is caused due to switching to other gears or from D to N while car is still moving..
Is this true?
currently my driving style sometimes I switch to N and cruise.. So I'll bound to encounter dsg juddering?

I am considering VW Passat or Jetta. Tested drive Jetta, really powerful. Just a bit small, so still thinking to go Passat but it's a little expensive. Still deciding but really need your opinions before i decide.

Few questions.

1. My friend went against this idea. He said he heard many of his friends had services "sux" problems as well as spare parts either too expensive or hard to find (even from service centres). Plus some GTI or polo had engine problems too. Is this really true? Coz it is damn risky if that really true.
afaik those on 6 speed wet DSG (2.0 tsi onwards) have very little issues on stock form

2. For VW passat 2012 vs 2013, same with jetta, what's the differences? Coz 2012 seems got clearance sales. Which one should I go for?
1.8 turbocharged vs 1.4 twincharged, power level is similar on stock (1.4 does have better torque).
both are on 7 speed dry DSG
