not sure if this is still true,
jetta's made in mexico
golf in germany

same engine, but jetta definitely better boot & rear sitting space
golf will be lighter, comes with DRL, better handling

that's why they didn't bring 1.4 tsi beetle, coz it'll same price as a rocco 1.4 (188k)

honestly, hp not that vital
better figure to look for is higher torque and it's availability

if u sat in a 320nm or more torque car, u'll feel a lot of pull

after using racechip pro, my polo went from stock 105ps 175nm to 109ps 204nm (on wheel, dyno)
assuming 10% power loss on wheel, guestimate figures on crank is around 121ps 226nm

the torque diff is very noticeable and there's a slight kick on gear change around 3k-4k rpm range, max torque at 2500rpm!

improved torque figures well below dsg7 dq200 250nm limit biggrin.gif

Driven a stage 3 before ? Very few i know. Mk6 never heard stage 3 yet
*
mk5 is using EA113 cast iron engine block
while mk6 is EA888 aluminium engine block

more mod potential for ea113, it can handle more pressure than ea888
if i not wrong tts, s3, golf r & rocco r are using ea113 with upgraded/forged internal parts

QUOTE(phas3r @ Sep 20 2012, 07:45 PM)
Seriously bro. Once in a while i drive polo sports
From dead stop i feel its faster than my stage 1.
Wonder whats the dyno number for stock polo tsi
*
well polo is about 1.1 tonne, it's about 300kg less than golf/rocco/beetle
better power to weight i guess

key diff for polo is the suspension, it's not using multi link rear like the rest

one thing about uprating engine performance output,
higher torque churning out from the engine can potentially kill your gearbox in the long run

- wet 6 speed dsg (DQ250) on 2.0 TSI engines are rated up to 350nm
passat cc r line 3.6 v6 engine is not exceeding this manufacturer limit

- dry 7 speed dsg (DQ200) on TSI engine below 2.0 are rated up to 250nm
polo gti & passat 1.8tsi is on 250nm

i mean surely those engine can go pass this torque limit, but they want the DSG to last in the long run

VW group does have better dsg box for higher torque limit (550nm)
- DQ500 (transverse engine, Audi TT RS 450nm)
- DL501 (longitudinal engine, Audi S4 440nm)

not sure, but if your dyno figures are pulling that much on wheels i doubt it's cutting much
well i guess one can remap dsg too

I know also also many VW owners are strict SG fans, but here I humbly offer start-off promotion for Opti-Coat to 2 members who knows of this product and wished to get it done.

Opti-Coat is good stuff too,
i love Optimum no rinse for it's flexible uses, Optimum power clean & spray on wax !

guys a quick 1, im looking at both the VW CC and the Audi A4 1.8, i heard that the VW cost a lot to service and their service is not that good. Is what im hearing correct?

any1 here driving a CC?
*
service depends on service center & how u deal with them
u treat them bad, i doubt u'll get good service la smile.gif

here's some quick facts on new CC & A4 1.8
CC is on dsg7, not as good as the old passat-cc with dsg6
A4 1.8 is on cvt gearbox, only the 2.0 is on DSG/shift-tronic

service wise, audi will/might be more expensive
there are more vw sc around compare to audi,
the pricing will depends on what is being service for vw it ranges from 500-2k

note: I think the Passat CC didnt come with DSG 6 speeder. It was a 6 speed Tiptronic slushbox automatic
*
afaik i know vw group usually pair their 2.0 engine with dsg6 (dq250, wet), since their torque exceeds 250nm
and those below 2.0 usually dsg7 (dq200, dry)
their suv (tiguan/toureg) runs on a wet dsg7 (dq500 or dl500) since it can take up to 550nm torque

Mind to share and elaborate more about wet and dry dsg7?

so is the DSG6 better than the DSG7 in model like cc? is the scirocco 2.0 come with DSG6 same as passat cc?
*
figures from here:
http://www.volkswagenag.com/content/vwcorp...7speed_dsg.html

wet dsg6 : dry dsg7
weight 93kg : 70kg
gear oil at work 6.5L : 1.7L
max torque 350nm : 250nm

wet ones can handle bigger engine power & higher torque,
but they're slightly heavier & use more gear oil

Does anyone know how the RCD310 connect to VW Cars that without MDI?
Example, how to connect RCD310 to VW cars that without MDI & able to play songs from pendrive or iPod?
What cable is needed?

Input is needed... Thanks in advance.
*
i got tired of trying to get a MDI retrofit kit, and it's quite pricey rm700+ i think
so i bought a china RCD510 & get a class 10 SDcard
problem solved!
