Just rooted note yesterday. took me 5min with some reading in xda.. a little different from s3 but still same concept

1. When I root the phone (using CF-Root), will I still be able to get OTA updates from Samsung? Or can I get it through flashing via Odin?

2. My S3 seems to be using XXBLG1, and I can't get the stock ROM for this build either from XDA or from SamMobile. Do any of you know where I can get this? Or maybe I don't need it, and I can flash some other stock ROM ala XXALE8?

JB as in the next step of android dev, jelly bean.

flash is "install", root is basically a superuser permission module for android, allows access to root files which are "/" directory which normal unrooted phones cant get into, and there is all the system files to mod

u might be able to still get OTA, based on the firmware, or flash an up to date custom rom

Did your method requires PC?

if i am not mistaken, it only restores app, not sure bout data, but i do know that mybackup (another app backup program) can restore app, save game, sms and contacts
