It's too bright and the trebles are too high for me. I so love the in-line controls but it gives me a headache. sad.gif

But this is the best one bundled in with a Samsung thus far.

agreed.. and the sound got all so mixed up for more rich contents.. only when vocal without music then still acceptable..

no doubt it's one of the best so far..

this is the one and it looks really nice. it has an awesome design which enable S3s with case to be able to sit perfectly on top of the dock  rclxms.gif

once u have missed out on the update u can no longer update via OTA unless they decide to prompt u again.

Thanks for the link, I have done more checking comparing it to the original Samsung dock
Look at 4:23 of the KiDiGi video, you can see that the SIII is not in dock mode.
For dock mode, you can see here at 0:38
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yjoptzw5oVc
The reviewer mentions that a new model is coming in August which should support the real dock mode.

Otherwise, it is really a good deal as the complaint about the Samsung dock is that the phone is not stable on the dock.

Soundstage is small, even for earphones. In comparison, my lowest end Audio-Technica CKL200 would be a better job for music but still some equalizing is needed.

That Wolfson DAC is too good to be wasted on the stock earphones!

here's a little guide i wrote to let people make their own volume boost, hope you like it:
1. go to /system/etc
2. open up default_gain.conf
3. notice the term "output volume" or "speaker volume", if applied the patch will be 63, so this is the value you are gonna change
4. how do you find what you wanna edit? well, see the term "modifier"? thats like the which part of the audio output to configure for your device, then there is this "SupportedDevice }" line, below it will determine what output hardware it will be going to use to sing, in there, find the line {"Speaker Volume", 63} and adjust values
5. You can also boost/reduce ringtone loudness by going to the modifier "Ringtone" and change the "speaker volume"
5. save it and reboot

This helps you revert vol boost or customize for own liking any volume, but must <63

RM200 for both? hmm.. bit tight.. if u want good audio quality ones, can only go for either 1..

yea man.. cannot waste the wolfson at all!! Currently there's a minor flaw of crackling sound that requires a fix via software..

There was this one time Jaben had a real good promotion bundle that would fit his bill;

ATH-TAD300, Fisher Audio FA555 and Hippo pipe amp for RM219.

Minor flaw? Haven't really experienced it personally.

Is it a widespread issue?

I remember reading somewhere that 10/10 people who were tested to determine which headset/headphones produced better sound quality from the same device, can't tell the difference.

It is more of a placebo effect. The thing that does differentiate are:

1. Comfort when wearing
2. The device that it's plugged into which has the ability of producing better sound quality through the headphones.

yes, and no.. different headphones/earphones have different attribute, sound stage, bass, treble, etc etc etc..

those ppl cannot differentiate maybe cz they are not used to these headphones.

If it's a power management issue and the first post here is to be believed, that could be an issue with all units.

Then again, I already rooted my and underclocked the phone as well as apply additional script fixes like CPUsleep.

So, if it manifests in my unit, then I'd need to listen doubly hard. sweat.gif

nth to do with flac or wat.. i'm playing uncompressed wav files also will notice it..

users report that it happens when screen is off and no power cable is connected. suspect due to power management or driver issue. which is the same situation that I face. although not very often, sometimes it does annoys me a little.
