QUOTE(farscope @ Jul 22 2012, 08:20 PM) the stock earphones is good.. but no where near perfect.. far from perfect.. It's too bright and the trebles are too high for me. I so love the in-line controls but it gives me a headache. no separate of sound, everything mixed up like ppl pouring rojak into your ears instead of singing to your ears. just want to clarify, it's good, but far from perfect.. and to reply HafisUn, try brands from Audio Technica, Sennheiser, Koss, Shure. if on budget, can try lower end Audio Technica or Sound Magic. But this is the best one bundled in with a Samsung thus far. |

QUOTE(farscope @ Jul 22 2012, 08:33 PM) agreed.. and the sound got all so mixed up for more rich contents.. only when vocal without music then still acceptable.. Soundstage is small, even for earphones. In comparison, my lowest end Audio-Technica CKL200 would be a better job for music but still some equalizing is needed. no doubt it's one of the best so far.. That Wolfson DAC is too good to be wasted on the stock earphones! |

QUOTE(farscope @ Jul 22 2012, 08:46 PM) RM200 for both? hmm.. bit tight.. if u want good audio quality ones, can only go for either 1.. There was this one time Jaben had a real good promotion bundle that would fit his bill; yea man.. cannot waste the wolfson at all!! Currently there's a minor flaw of crackling sound that requires a fix via software.. ATH-TAD300, Fisher Audio FA555 and Hippo pipe amp for RM219. Minor flaw? Haven't really experienced it personally. |

QUOTE(farscope @ Jul 22 2012, 08:59 PM) AT also had their promotion a few weeks back.. he missed it.. Hmmm, would have to sit in my listening room for a few a hours like that to see if I can detect it. yes, crackling sound.. occasionally, not often.. i have quite sensitive ears.. Is it a widespread issue? |

QUOTE(farscope @ Jul 22 2012, 09:03 PM) not sure whether it affects all units.. u just google s3 crackling then u will see some users reporting about it.. If it's a power management issue and the first post here is to be believed, that could be an issue with all units. Then again, I already rooted my and underclocked the phone as well as apply additional script fixes like CPUsleep. So, if it manifests in my unit, then I'd need to listen doubly hard. |

Okay, not within 30 seconds of listening, I picked up that crackling. Very slight but noticeable especially when playing ballads.
