yea, was at geekcon, and maybe i donno what to look for and what to buy. i was disappointed. donno why i bought the ticket to go in, and once inside, i need to spend more to buy stuff. they need more special order kinda thing, or more sessions with artists/sculptors and less stuff selling.

somehow i enjoyed shioktoys display in 1u more than geekcon =_=

Lucky i didn't travel all the way from johor for the geekcon. Same as komikcon last year. Wat the event actual need is those big toy maker like hot toys, xm studio, kid logic ect to participate the event. And selling some exclusive items then that will attract a lot of people. Just like the STGCC in Spore, a lot of stuffs were displayed, either already released or pre order. There was so much fun. Not like event in Msia, event the main toy retailer like toypanic, XL shop, shioktoy also not interested to join.

yea, actually the one held at sunway was somewhat better, because they did request different groups to showcase their stuff - anime statues, super heroes, lego, etc. better segregation.
this one, it's all grouped into one hall. just tat this geekcon has more artists involved than the sunway 1.

usual stuff like art prints, shirts, comics, etc. but they also sell gundam, lego, bandai stuff, ....a bit like flea market

I suppose the event didnt meet the expectations, especially since people had to pay and travel quite a distance to visit Geekcon. I went there on Sunday and i have to agree with all the comments here. i enjoyed the artists alley and the goods on sale a lot but i was really turned off by the session where they had the star wars fanboys/club on the stage discussing what THE FORCE ( YAWN fest )

did u try super glue? the magic. else it will cost quite a lot to get people to fix tis

+1 but...i oso not interested in the stuff they selling tbh. its like going to berjaya times sq, not like the price is very cheap or the items very rare

How come CTFKL dont have anyone displaying statues ?

hi guys, i ordered a sideshow spiderman ex statue directly from sideshow.. Can anyone help in giving a rough estimate how much tax will i be paying for it?

You can try to ask for no tax (6% gst only) and maybe they will give you. But most of the time time they say "if there is a base, it is a statue". They will ask you to fix it there sometimes.

And if they say its statue, you have to pay 20%. http://tariff.customs.gov.my/ (under search > item description> statue).

Or try to declare it as Toys.

thanks for the feedback koopa .. Is it possible to ask customs to have it declared as toys or request for no tax? what are the chances?

I called customs and they told me to ask sideshow the HR code for it when shipped. 20% of tax is very expensive as the spidey pf cost 470usd.
