6.6L/100km is 90kph steady state driving. It is correct, in fact I can get better than that. Actual driving however is much higher. Proton is not lying. But all FC value by all manufacturer should be taken with a pinch of salt. The majority of people will get higher than what is stated in brochures.

My BIL fly to australia nextweek for 10days soo ill will babysitt his preve tebo

u check my fuelly..the best i get is 6.9/100km

cruise smoothly 110km/h at highway all the way,no pedal to metal,no sudden acc...kl-penang-kl...500km+

if u drive 90km/h,i believe u can get 6.6l/100km

noise from A pillar. have u tried off the air-circulation. might be one of the culprit coz mine is.

my mileage just going up to 180KM.
now my average FC is 11.6l/100km

Watch this video that I posted and then you will know how's the OWV problem. So far I've not send it to SC to fix it yet. Maybe will only do it on my 1st Service.

sad sad case happened this morning when i started my silver bullet engine.

I have my OWV problem solved (so to say) at COSE after leaving there for 7 days. This krek krek sound was so common before the changed. It happened 90% when i started my car whether in the morning, afternoon, evening or night. My CN is 10XX.

The overcranking sound does not happen after the OWV changed till this morning. Some how i was caught by surprise as it sounded damn LOUD and LONGER than before the OWV changed!

If any Proton engineer reading this, please let us know how to solve this issue completely, before you guys can go global.

mine also, sometimes krek krek krek krek, but sometimes krek krek, sometimes no krek krek krek... but sometime no sound at all...irregardless of cold or hot engine start though...

it was fun driving along highway, max drove was 160km/h stable and no whistling sound... have to check for speeding ticket...

one thing i notice that, if i didnt wait for the electronic to self-diagnose and immediately press break and start engine, the rpm will rev close to 2k rpm....

if i wait until the self-diagnose finish, and start engine, the rpm will rev to 1.2k rpm only...

perhaps its better to go thru and wait self-diagnose done only start engine...

that is what i did everytime i start my car.

-press start
-press start
-wait self diagnose finished
-press brake
-press start
-then krek krek krek krek...

i always do the long start... to allow the system to do self diagnostic...

later around 4pm will drive back to kl, i will maintain 90km/h...want to find out how is the fuel consumption like.
took me 3 bars from kl to teluk intan.

Yupp..i agree with u. During my long trip on highway last time, by mostly autocruising at 110km/h, the Preve instant FC shows about 6.8-7.xL/100km on an even road. I got average FC of 7.2L/100km from Alor Setar to Bukit Merah. I've also tried autocruising at 90km/h on the highway (also on an even road) & the Preve's instant FC shows from 5.8-6.xL/100km. So i can conclude that, 90km/h (at the rpm of about 1.8k, below the optimum boost of the turbo) is perhaps an optimum speed to saves fuel for Preve. Once the turbo kicks in full boost, the FC figure jumps noticeably.

As a comparison to my Forte 2.0 (since the Preve CFE is comparable to a 2.0 car in term of power & torque as advertised), the best average FC i got (for Forte 2.0) is 5.9L/100km when i mostly autocruising at 110km/h from Tanjung Malim to Jalan Duta (highway). While from Alor Setar - Jalan Duta trip, i got average FC of 6.1L/100km at the same autocruising speed (car with 2 adults & 2 children with almost full luggage in the boot).

For both cars during these measures, also no pedal to metal & no sudden acceleration with same driving behavior.

Perhaps i can make a conclusion that my Forte 2.0 gives better FC than my Preve CFE when autocruising at 110km/h (at least from my very own measurement & observation coz i got both cars ). Mind u that my Forte 2.0 is the 4-speeder..6-speed Forte 2.0 should gives better FC figure i guess...

hey guys, i am about to buy a new car but if preve not sure to choose an executive cvt or premium, because so far, i saw from this forum, there are so much problem about preve..
but i love the specs and outlook of it!

can anyone suggest me please? i am a person do not wish to keep sending my car for fixing. tq.

my krek krek sound on driver side windows now settled. i sent to EON service outlet and they replaced the whole power window with a new one.

nice job Proton for fullfilling your promises. now i am so happy.

Added on July 29, 2012, 2:23 pmwell that will depend on your luck. i can say that after 1000 km there would be issues. such as rattling dashboard and/or power window and also the one way valve problem.

Even after changing the power windows, now the dashboard starts producing krek krek sound. but keep in mind that these issues are very minimum and you should not restrain yourself from buying preve just because of these stuff. 5 years warranty is there so no need to worry so much. as for my case, they change my whole driver side power window jsut bcoz of krek krek sound. I am very satisfied

The handling is there and very superb and i like it. I can say that my approval rating for preve after 5 weeks having it as 4.5 stars over 5. Proton has a very bright future but they still light years behind honda and toyota in term of Qualitiy control, you need to go to SC to fix these small issues.

i have one friend. Kutuk me kaw kaw for buying preve instead of vios. but after he test drive my car, he completely change his mind.

well, thanks bro! do u drive exec cvt or premium? I am worry about the more automatic system in the car, the more easier to get more problem to fix..

since no one talking about the exec cvt and very hardly there is a test drive unit available in showroom, i cant decide it, i really wish to know about the exec cvt, i asked a few SA, they keep persuade me to buy premium. For exec auto, Im not sure is it underpower or not, coz i dun wan to drive a turtle up genting or slope.

for sure it wont be a turtle up genting or a slope since there's always "S" for it.

Only during pick up 0-40kph, it feels lethargic. But once the momentum kicks in at around 2,300 rpm, it will begin to surge forward. Hitting 180 isnt a problem. Takes a long time to reach 200 though.

Therefore, if your daily life doesn't involve racing on the road, then it is a good choice. Furthermore, the IAFM engine has no major issues, as evidence has shown in the past from the inception of IAFM engine in the Saga in 2008, till the IAFM+ engine in 2011 in the Saga FLX.
