QUOTE(arthur88 @ Jul 29 2012, 01:34 PM) one thing i notice that, if i didnt wait for the electronic to self-diagnose and immediately press break and start engine, the rpm will rev close to 2k rpm.... if i wait until the self-diagnose finish, and start engine, the rpm will rev to 1.2k rpm only... perhaps its better to go thru and wait self-diagnose done only start engine... QUOTE(rich8833 @ Jul 29 2012, 01:37 PM) that is what i did everytime i start my car. Somehow, if I start by pressing the brakes and straight push the button, I've not heard of the krek krek sound for quire some time BUT if I start like how you guys mentioned, the Krek krek sound would happen lol especially cold weather-press start -press start -wait self diagnose finished -press brake -press start -then krek krek krek krek... QUOTE(StylishCF @ Jul 29 2012, 05:21 PM) well, to be honest, even an Alphard with 2.4L engine feels a bit slow off the line. This is particularly due to the safety equipments, toys and gadgets and other comfort materials such as sound deadening which carries weight. like those kampung people say, jalan dulu sebelum lari. Thats why these cars also is the same, have to "walk" first before can properly "run". |

QUOTE(my1508 @ Jul 29 2012, 07:04 PM) i drive iafm+ cvt Hey bro, thanks for the info!! seem like not bad, maybe i can pick the exec cvt!for me no issue with the quality. wind noise if air-circulation in on and above 90kmh. in term of speed have tried and easily reach 160kmh using lebuhraya pantai timur with 4 adult and full luggage (balik kampung trip) dont want to speed more than 160 then my inlaws will realise im speeding. from kuantan to kl, after tol that will reach to genting sempah. i use s mode. and tried to push the car. all the way manage to get 100kmh until the tunnel. (4 ppl with luggage) for a family car sedan its worth it. to call it turtle NO. furthermore its hassle free happy choosing my friend. QUOTE(rich8833 @ Jul 29 2012, 11:54 AM) sad sad case happened this morning when i started my silver bullet engine. I have my OWV problem solved (so to say) at COSE after leaving there for 7 days. This krek krek sound was so common before the changed. It happened 90% when i started my car whether in the morning, afternoon, evening or night. My CN is 10XX. The overcranking sound does not happen after the OWV changed till this morning. Some how i was caught by surprise as it sounded damn LOUD and LONGER than before the OWV changed! If any Proton engineer reading this, please let us know how to solve this issue completely, before you guys can go global. No oil leaking, I wonder how many preve owner does not facing this ever or it is just normal to our preve? This post has been edited by wewanwang: Jul 29 2012, 10:05 PM |

....luckily mine dont have this over cranking problem. last time got once or twice if i not mistaken. now i keep on practice the way to start car. I want all my mechanical stuffs starts first before press the push start button again.
Enter Key Fob. press start....the GPS will have proton logo come up. wait till the radio start got sound? then press start button again. This time you can see all your dashboard sign come out. push start button will have orange ember light. Then press the brake. after that you can see push start button got green color. then press start button. your car will go through 1 and half to 3 seconds of cracking sound. Please do not stop pressing the brake...if you lift up your leg while the engine cranking you will hear longer and noisier cranking sound. make sure the cranking process finish then only lift your leg from the brake pedal. I usually wait the temperature up for one or two bars before i start moving car. This I only practice during morning cold start. the rest of the stop start my car is the same. put in key fob. start to press brake. just press the start button. |
