QUOTE(blu3hamm3r @ Jul 30 2013, 09:27 AM) I very satisfied with my HCH till now, just some time when raining day, I go in my car start the engine and switch on the aircon, the air blow out from aircon smell like shit, do u guy experience it? Just like wet cloth put in basket few day didn't wash smell...... Second thing, sound proof level still low if compare to Altis or Latio. Especially when driving on bad condition road, dam noisy. So far my best fc I get is 21.8km/l half city drive half highway. About 9xxkm per tank...... I haven’t got the issue with the air cond but i would like to ask did u park ur car around those grass area, secondly, did u put air freshener in ur car. Honda also got problem with aircond filter. They use charcoal filter. Once the filter absorb the smell until “full”, it will sorta release smell when aircond start. Sometimes under very Hot day, also can get the smell on 1st start. Sound proof is low but better compares FD, IMO. I will change the tyre to those quiet tyres once the dunlop run out. Ur fuel consumption is very good. This is my 4th tank of petrol. i still monitoring the fuel consumption, so far each tank is getting more mileage. Hope can reach 7XX this latest tank(city driving).

Hi, has anyone changed the default sport rim on honda civic hybrid year 2012/2013 model as I personally feel its quite ugly. According to salesmen, the rims cant be change due to the braking energy re-generation features. Appreciate if someone from here can shed the light on this.

Can change, just remind u the original rim is special design for our hybrid car. Very light weight. If u change other rim, u might cant get the same light weight rim. In our FB group, there is one member change his hybrid rim to BBS rim, which is only 6kg per pc and tat rim cost him almost 6K. together with the tyre.

Btw, what does the light weight rim roles on the hybrid? just to get better mileage only right? Can you share the Facebook link? Thanks.

hi. i am planning to buy a civic hybrid.
just some questions, hope all experts here can help me
1. when buying a hybrid car, do we still need to plug in a charger to a powerpoint to charge the car?
2. if yes, how much electricity does it consume per full charge?
3. also, what would the charges for a normal service cost? would it be higher compared to the petrol version?

Hi vanillatwilight,

hi. i am planning to buy a civic hybrid.
just some questions, hope all experts here can help me
1. when buying a hybrid car, do we still need to plug in a charger to a powerpoint to charge the car?
No charger or power point needed. Petrol Engine will drive the Electric motor (house in the engine compartment) to charge the Li-ion Battery Pack (installed on the backrest of the rear seat, hence, remember that now the rear seat backrest cannot be fold down...)
2. if yes, how much electricity does it consume per full charge?
No electricity consume from external source, electric power is "self-generated" & store in the Li-ion Battery pack
3. also, what would the charges for a normal service cost? would it be higher compared to the petrol version?
Hybrid car servicing may include one of these: a. main difference will be the Engine Oil grade used (0w20), which may or may not cost more than normal grade Engine oil (depending on the brand but normal Engine oil has plenty of choices), b. Engine oil filter same as normal car, still need to be replaced during oil change, c. Engine coolant same as normal car, d. 12V Battery "Lead Acid", for starting Engine initially, smaller capacity & smaller in size, compared to normal car (35Ah compare to 45/55Ah?), may be a little cheaper (depending on brand?), e. Brake fluid same as normal car, f. Engine air filter same as normal car, g. No power steering fluid need to change, as it uses electric-powered steering, h. Tyre is "smaller" than normal car (195 vs 205?), hence cheaper? i. Automatic transmission uses CVTF fluid, is different from normal ATF fluid, may be a little more expensive compared to normal ATF fluid, also more choice for normal ATF fluid,
Other additional cost for Hybrid (not for normal car): a. Li-ion Battery is the MAIN cost, as cost of replacing is high & is monopoly, normal car no Li-ion Battery to replace (but now Li-ion Battery pack can have cost saving with the "extended" warranty by Honda)
Hope these info helps...

Thanks. Not only better mileage but better speed up too. Once u change to other sport rim which is not light weight rim, u will feel like whole car become very heavy when car start moving from 0km/l.
