I read the usa car guide... air con should last 10 to 12 years.  Ours die 3 to 5 years....and replacement compressor only warranted for 6 months or 10000km!  Not even 1 year.

How long is the hybrid battery replacement warranted? I read 8 years... anyone knows?
*
8 or 10 years? I remember i received a letter from Honda saying that they had extend the hybrid battery warranty to 10 years.

Why not get outside to repair. It shall less than  rm2500

I had send to outside aircon expert to check too, but they said need to change the whole compressor and need order from Japan. There is not MADE in Taiwan or China air compressor for Hybrid Civic. Unless u go for half cut shop to find used compressor but warranty only 1 week. Price also RM2K+. sad.gif sad.gif

The money u spend for continue service in HCH is more than u buy the battery by ur own. Imagine you continue service at HCH for 8 years!

Hi all, feel so sad to hear about the compressor issues.

I am now planning to buy a used honda civic hybrid.

Do you all think the car inside the photo above has gone thru some serious repair/ ? Because I see the front bar and engine compartment paint color (black) is different than the body color (white). Or is this because of Japan batch CBU ?

I see other units are same color with the body, like this :

Any advise ?

1.8/2.0 is better choice. Hybrid for fuel save, but battery and air con will cause u more than fuel save.

This morning my ac suddenly turn into "outside air" mode and the ac air come out from vent is not cool.
During that time, i was drive in raining highway and never gone through any sediment water road.
I attempt to switch it back to "internal circulation" mode from "outside air" mode and it is not helping.
Hence, i just turn off the ac mode and ac fan.
Aftet few minutes, turn it ON back everything and it resume.
Luckliy the error is not reproducible.

Mine also same age. At first it flipped to green. Then after a while, We managed to turn on Orange n air con. Less than a week later, it totally get stuck in green n no cold air. Compressor dead. Mine still at honda service. Collecting Sunday.

This air con has a life. I estimate 5.5 to 6 years on hybrid regardless of mileage.

Note that new compresor only has 6 months or 10000 km warranty. Outside mechanic not sure.

Hi Guys,

can anyone share which Honda Service Centre in Klang Valley that has a tool for checking refrigerant leak?

moreover, have read a write-up about the Recovery/ recycling/ recharge (RRR) machines that is specifically required for servicing hybrid cars air-cond system where it is required to meet the SAE specification J2788H..

reason being our hybrid car electric compressor is sensitive to non-compatible compressor oil that will lead to premature failure of its motor windings...

https://macsworldwide.wordpress.com/2012/03...ybrid-vehicles/

hence, does anyone know any SC that has a RRR machine dedicated for hybrid cars?

reason being my air-cond system is now giving problems where during morning & highway drives is still able to produce cool air but is unable to do so in the afternoon & traffic jam drive...

moreover, noticed my engine idle auto stop now no longer works when the air-cond is not producing cool air...

hope someone can share their experience on this matter...thanks..

finally, my mileage is only 26,0000km (ie. second car used for leisure drive only)

yeap...bought it when first came out in the market in year 2012..

bro Twins10, which Honda SC did you go to as i've read the RRR machine must not be contaminated with residues from non-hybrid compressor oil...

if not, after replacement with new unit, the foreign oil will cause premature failure again to the electric compressor... cry.gif
